Hi! I see in your bio you do requests, what are they for? How did you start doing them? Do you enjoy it? ~cc

Well... I’ve been really lazy with my writing lately, buttttt I do requests for MDZS/CQL x reader head-cannons. I started doing them when I really got into MDZS/CQL and there wasn't a lot of the kind of x reader content I was looking for so, obviously, I thought it was a good idea(even tho I cant write:)). But yeah its super self indulgent! And although I do love doing it, whenever I get interested in another fandom, it’s hard to write for old ones, which is why I have many requests that I haven't completed!

Hello! If you join any sect (not limited to the main five) which one would it be? ~cc

OOOOO that’s a good one! Ummm so this is kinda way out there but probably the sect that was (totally, 100%canon) created by Song Lan and Xiao Xingchen. Firstly because I love both of those boys with all my entire soul, and secondly because I like the idea of a sect that takes anyone and has no bloodline involved and there is no hierarchy.

If I had to choose a main five it would be the Lan Clan, because although I’ve always had a wee bit of trouble with rules, its the sect that I had the most affinity with, not because of the characters, but because of #1: its placement in those beautiful mountains and #2: because I love music and I’ve always wanted to learn to play the guqin. (Also they r just cool)

What about you? Which sect would you be in?

I think I would also join the sect that Song Lan and Xiao Xingchen built! You're right, it was 100% canon 😂. For main five I think I'd join the Yunmeng Jiang or Qinghe Nie sects, they seem really cool! Post sunshot of course. How did you get into mdzs/cql? ~cc

Hilariously, I actually got into CQL when I was bored out of my mind and saw the preview thingy on Netflix. It’s funny cuz the preview was the scene at the beginning with the Lan clan juniors who are trying to stop Mo Xuanyu/ Wei Wuxian from taking flags. So it’s a pretty unimportant scene right? But as someone who had never watched any kind of Chinese cinema at all it looked so funny and frivolous to me.

So ofc I decided to see how silly it was. Which was my first mistake since, well, I wouldn’t describe CQL/ MDZS as funny... But yeah after that it was just a hyper fixation of mine for like the rest of quarantine! (Lots of tears were shed)

Since then I’ve actually watched many other Cdramas (or whatever they’re called), like Birth of the Drama King, Ashes of love and (not sure if this counts) Meteor Garden.

How did you get into it? Have you seen any other Cdramas that you’d recommend?

I got into it when an old mutual reblogged the trailer for season one of the donghua! It was a bit confusing at first but then I read the novel and watched the episodes as they came out. I'm still in the process of watching cql, and the only other C-drama I've seen is Guardian, which is based off a novel by Priest. It's sort of sci-fi/mystery, taking place on another planet and involves a detective solving supernatural cases. The amount of long, lingering, pining gazes is off the charts. 1/2

I've heard Birth of the Drama King is good, too! I'm a big fan of Song Jiyang. What are your top five mdzs/cql ships? ~cc

Oh yeah I’ve heard of the guardian. I think I saw some gif sets from someone I follow. It looks very good! Is it on Netflix? I know how confusing MDZS/CQL can be at first, from experience! It was so confusing when I first watched the show. I had to do loads of reasearch! (But it was worth it!)

Also, and I won’t really get into this cuz I could go on forever, but I LOVE Song Jiyang(and XXC)! He’s so pretty!!!! (Alright I’m done now)

Hum... my top five ships ... let’s see... It’s pretty complicated, but simply put it looks something like this:

1) SongXiao (and I also really like SongXiaoLin, which was a version of that ship with an OC (I think) written by @songxiaolin)

2) Wangxian (I mean you have to love them ❤️)

3) Xicheng (I know it’s not very possibly cannon, but it’s very cute in a lot of fics)

4) Zhuilingyzen (I think that’s what it’s called? I only really started linking it after I followed @zhuilingyizhen)

5) Nieyao (it’s so deliciously angsty!)

A close runner up is the venerated triad because that’s even more deliciously angsty, and Xiyao (idk what it’s actually called, but Jin guangyao and Lan Xichen)

Oof, I feel that. The semester is ending for me and I have finals coming up and it's pretty tough. I'm also excited for Christmas break! My family celebrate it and we just finished decorating our tree! It looks so nice. Guardian is actually on youtube, legally and fully subbed! Those are all good ships too, I'm also quite partial to songxiao! 3zun is also really good. Do you read fanfiction? Got any good recommendations?

I’m sure your tree is so pretty! I live in Canada and I’m really exited for Christmas break as well however I just wish it would snow here before Xmas!!!

To answer your question, yes I do read fanfiction( too much lol). As for recommendations, I don’t really have any specific ones? I mean you can, um, check out what I’ve written if you want to?(its x reader tho). I read mostly x reader and my fav writing blogs for mdzs/cql are @alice-in-wonderart and @sadisticbottom and there are others but I’m blanking rn.

I have read just regular fanfiction, but I don’t have specific recommendations for that, other than what @\mdzsnet has.

I will definitely check out your stuff! I am up to my neck in final exams right now but I will once I'm done. At least I have a long break lol. I have a crippling addiction to fanfic. There are so many good ones. My favorites rn are Meng Yao vs The Board of the Homeowner's Association by Ariaste, Brownies, Bitch by HanguangMoon, Jiang Cheng and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good Very Bad Wedding by hyunbun, and I'd Tear Heaven and Earth Apart for You by Angelofmusic46. Any fun Christmas plans?

Oooo those all sound great imma check them out! Since it’s still the Covid Times unfortunately, I don’t have many plans other than going sledding and skiing around Christmas time. I might get togheter with the family over zoom calls or something, but that will probably be the extent of that unfortunately (I live in Canada 🇨🇦)

What about you? Are the Covid restrictions still high where you live?

The state I live in has been pretty good about covid restrictions, but where I live the cases are highest. Everything is closing back up again. We usually have people over for Christmas Eve and go to church and all that, but not this year. It does mean more family time for us! Sledding and skiing sound SO much fun! I hope we get enough snow here for those. Once all of this clears up, what place(s) do you most want to go? They can be anywhere in the world!

That sounds like so much fun! Where would I most wanna go let’s see... probably somwhere in Asia like China or Japan or maybe somewhere in the Caribbean, like a little island or something.

To be honest I’ve never done much traveling, in fact I’ve never left my country since birth so I’ve never actually travelled out of Canada. But I’ve always dreamed of doing so. I’ve never even been on a plane!

What about you? Have you travelled before? And where would u wanna go when this clears?

Ooh an island sounds so nice! I'd love to be somewhere warm right now lol. I've done some traveling, mostly on school music trips. We went to Florida a few years ago to sing at a Christmas event in Disney once, and another time we toured Europe and performed concerts there. Both were amazing experiences and some loooong plane rides. I'd love to go back to Europe and show my family all of the places I've seen when this is all over. Any cool stuff you're watching/reading right now?

Recently, in terms of books, I’ve been trying to catch up on my classics (or the books that are called classics in Canada), having read most of them in my middle school years. So recently I’ve read Jane Eyre (which I love, even though it’s quite misogynistic) and right now I’m reading Gullivers Travels, which is also great.

In terms of TV shows and Movies I watched all the Pirates of the Caribbean movies (which have been some of my favourite movies since childhood) and I was watching Hamilton yesterday (another of my favorite movies, also a musical I saw live). I haven’t been watching many shows, but I watched the Mandalorian and I wanna watch the new Netflix show Brigerton.

What about you? Any recommendations of tv shows I should watch? Or movies?

Hello and Merry Christmas! I'm so sorry that this is coming in so late, I've been in that state between December 26th and December 31st where I don't have the energy to do anything 😅 Just doing a lot of reading and knitting. I haven't yet read Jane Eyre and Gulliver's Travels, but I've heard good things about both! I've been reading Outlander, which is about a woman who gets transported back in time to 1770's Scotland. It's pretty good! Oh I love Pirates of the Caribbean too! [1/2?]

Those movies are always fun to watch. Hamilton is good too, do you enjoy musicals as well? My mom actually just finished the Brigerton book, so I suspect we might be watching the show together! Oof the Mandalorian... I love that show. My opinion on star wars varies by the day but the Mandalorian will always be one of my favorite things from it. I've been watching Schitt's Creek, which is about a super rich family who goes bankrupt and has to live in a motel, though if you're Canadian you might have already heard of it. There isn't much else I've been watching. I hope you have a great rest of your week, and a happy new year! 2/2

It’s totally okay! I’ve tried to do the three asks a week but I’ll admit it was quite hard to keep up, even while being on vacation! I love musicals!!! I’ve actually read outlander as well and I quite liked it. I’ve heard of Schitts Creek but I’ve never seen it. My family has always been very big on Star Wars so I’ve seen a lot of the stuff that they have to offer. I quite enjoyed the Mandalorian but my favourite TV shows (in Star Wars) is probably still clone wars. I actually finished Brigerton in like three days which is a little bit fast but I really enjoyed it and I was watching it with my best friend (remotely) so we kinda binged. I love the costumes and people in the story even though it was very fanfiction like.
