First post lets gooo 😎 see now we're gonna start with some wholesome stuff first. We're talking the one and only Bravo himself proposing to MC. ✨️

~Miguel proposing to MC~
Now lets be honest here, Miguel would be super nervous when the time comes, after being teased and pestered by his family (mostly his sisters and Dad) He would end up a mess.
Ramón is doing his best to help his best friend calm down, while poor Miguel is pacing back and forth, almost rambling. "Oh, but what if they dont like the ring? Do they even want a ring? Do you think they're more of a necklace person? Should i put the ring on a necklace?" Ramón on the other hand is snickering and reassuring him.
Miguel is asking his mama and abuelita, about thier own proposals, this man is taking notes left and right, poor baby is absolutely discombobulated. Stressing over what he'll do if you turn him down or if you dont like the ring. Abuelita and mama are smiling like fools, watching the normally suave and calm Miguel get flustered all over again.
Miguel on the other hand is praying harder the closer the date gets, he just doesnt want another embarrassing highschool repeat. When the day does come, hes got his family comforting him hours before, "You'll do fine Mjio" "They're gonna love it Miguel, promise!" His family is so supportive of the decision. Everyone is so calm as Miguel leaves to pick you up for the dinner the two of you planned.
As soon as that door closed they all automatically started shaking eachother and panicking along with eachother, Ramón and Abuelita were the only two remotely calm, remotely.
When Miguel came to get you, immediately you could feel something was off with him, while he was almost always so blushy with you. He was particularly fidgety, picking at his nails at every red light, brushing back his hair and taking soft deep breaths. The air was tense and a bit akward, that was until you finally had enough and spoke up, "Miguel?" "Ah, yes mi corazón?" "Are you feeling alright? You're really skittish." "A-am i? Haha, i didnt really notice."
He took you to a very quiet little restaurant in little Havana, nothing fancy, but he had gotten the entire roof of the restaurant to yourselves. Bulb lights strung up above the two of you, Miguel was distracting himself just talking to you, almost entranced by you as you talked about your day, and your run in with Agent Blake at the mall. The two of you were completely hooked onto eachother that you're conversation nearly made Miguel forget why the two of you were there. As if it couldn't get any better, people on the darkening beach of Miami started lightning sparklers and fireworks, catching your attention. Miguel took the opportunity, his gaze turned soft, his heart felt so full and warm as the glow of each colorful firework lit up your figure, he couldn't understand how he got so damn lucky finding you at the pool that day.
"Mi corazón?"
"Hm?"
"Will you marry me?"

Part 1 Part 2
××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××
Mc and Miguel met in highschool in Miami, both akward kids. Eventually MC and their Uncle Murray move away across the country. What happens when they meet years after?
××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××
It was the early years of highschool, akward kids wandering the halls, jocks, nerds, and your classic stereo types. Miguel nearly tripped over himself, hauling ass down the school hallways, dodging and weaving through crowds of his peers, and his only goal was to catch up to the bus before they pulled away. Skidding around the corner he quickly hopped down the steps of the schools side door, "Hey! MC! Wait a sec!" His voice was labored, breathing heavy as he finally slowed down, his slowing steps growing heavy and tired. Thats when you spun around on your heel, the kid next door from his Abuelita's house. You had been one of the only people other than Ramón who would hang out with him on the regular. "Miguel? Are you taking the bus today?" You cocked your head to the side slightly, holding an old beat up jansport backpack over your left shoulder. Miguel couldn't stop himself from flushing a beet red, though it could have easily been mistaken for his lack of breath at the moment. "I..uh..no..i just needed to ask a question." He smiled akwardly, his expression was soft but embarrassed. You only smiled and let out a small laugh, "Miguel, we live right next to eachother, thia couldnt have waited till we got home?" Poor Miguel only blushed a darker shade of red, "Oh..yeah, that uh right." He smiled sheepishly, scratching the back of his head. "Come on Bravo, we'll take the bus, if we dont hurry up we'll miss it." You said smiling, grabbing his hand and pulling him toward the bus.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
The ride home was just as you'd expect it to be the loud chatter of the other kids on the bus, you finally turned to Miguel, who was nervously fiddling with his hands. "Alright Bravo, what was your question?" You smiled, putting a hand onto his shoulder in a soothing manner. He jumped at the sudden touch, his nervous smile only made you smile more, he was always so cute when he tried to be confident around you. "Well i was wondering if you wanted to go to the dance next weekend?" Your eyes lit up at the question, you had been so sure he was going to ask the girl from the other class. "I thought you were gonna ask your crush?" You asked, removing your hand from his shoulder, "Well i was going to, but she uh..didn't reply to the note i gave her." His smile faltered, you sat next to him in silence, the sound of the other kids chatter swallowed the silence whole. Finally you spoke, "Well thats her loss, id be happy to go with you Miguel." You smiled brightly, nudging him in the side, earning that sweet smile only the two of you shared when you both hung out alone.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Sunday rolled around, only a week before the dance, yet you hadn't gotten anything for it, scrambling down the spiral stairs, you hopped around the corner. Your uncle Murray was cooking breakfast in the kitchen, the sweet smell of Blueberries and bananas wafted around the house. "Goodmorning Kiddo." Murray looked over his shoulder at you, he wasn't your real uncle, but he had taken you in when you were younger. You appreciated what he's done for you so far. "Goodmorning Uncle Murray." You smiled happily, pulling yourself inti one of the tall chairs at the island in the kitchen. Murray placing a big steaming plate of pancakes, blueberries and Bananas in front of you. "So kiddo, i wanted to talk to you about my job for a minute." He said as he turned back around to clean up his mess from the pancakes. "What about your job?" You asked as you shoveled a big syrup covered pancake into your mouth. Murray stopped for a moment, before taking a deep breath, "I know you promised Miguel you'd go to prom with him, but, im afraid we wont be here for that." He said quietly and slowly, turning to look at you, hoping that you wouldn't get too upset. Instead he was met with a confused expression. "What are you talking about? Of course we'll be here Murray! We dont leave for Vacation until after the 26th." You said with a pleasant smile. Murray sighed, "No kiddo, i mean we're moving." He said as he fully turned to face you. You dropped your fork onto the plate, completely forgetting about the sweet breakfast in front of you.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Miguel and Ramón were sitting in his Abuelita's living room, the two boys enjoying a sweet creme soda together. However their time was cut short by your sudden burst in, you stood in the doorway of Miguel's house with fat tears rolling down your face, both of the boys quickly sprang from thier seats on the couch. "MC! What happened!?" Ramón and Miguel both started to check over you. Miguel ran his hand through your hair, pushing your hair away from your face, only to have you grab his hand. Both boys back up just a little, staring at you in utter concern, "Miguel...Im moving across the country, i wont be here for prom like i promised." Your calmed expression quickly fell back into tears, threatening to spill from your eyes, neither questioned you, they only pulled you into a hug and spent the rest of your last night drinking sodas and relishing in what little time the three of you had left.
I know im just throwing a bunch out right now, but i just wanna get a bunch of these out for people to enjoy while i get more ideas :) ps. Im so sorry this one is a bit shorter than others 🙏

~Miguel with a talkative MC~
If you thought this man couldnt be more in love with you. He's almost always looking at you, and now that you've opened up and started talking almost non stop, he is just absolutely enamored, he thinks its way too cute just listening to you ramble about the most random things, you saw a cute dog today? He wants to hear it. You had this really good drink that you think he'd enjoy? Take him there, you saw these style of driving gloves and you wanna show him? Absolutely. He will do anything and EVERYTHING to keep you talking. He absolutely adores your voice, afterall he's all about fast lives and driving, he rareky settles down unless its with you. So of course the moments he gets with you alone, all he wants is to hear you talk. You're this man's sleep aid, he'll hum short 'mhms' and 'uh uhs' as he listens to you go on about things you thought about throughout the day. He loves that about you, and while sometimes he'll want peace and quiet he knows that you're voice is much more comfortable that pure deafening silence.
When you first started rambling to him, he had no idea you were so talkative, it made him smile way too much. He almost started laughing which got you embarrassed, because you assumed he was laughing at you, however as soon as he saw your sad expression you were quickly enveloped in hugs, kisses and "My apologies mi corazón, i wasn't trying to make you upset, you're just too cute." With that goofy smile and soft dreamy expression on his face as he holds you sooo close to his chest. He loves every second with you, and he couldn't imagine a world without your voice echoing next to him everyday of every minute of every hour.

Part 1 Part 2
×××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××
Miguel and Ramón remembered that day, watching you and your uncle Murray pack everything you had into a big moving truck, the sadness in your eyes as you hauled big boxes of your fondest memories into the back of the rusted old truck. Your face and body language said it all, you felt utterly destroyed, knowing you would never see your two best friends again.
Both of the boys remember watching you come into Abuelita's yard to say goodbye, you had never been snatched into a hug faster in your life. Miguel had almost an iron grip on you, he was so scared to let you go, knowing that this was the last time the three of you would be in the same place. Ramón was tearing up, "This is it huh guys?" You sniffled, pulling your arms up to your chest in a self soothing manner. They both nodded solemnly, "Here Mc." Miguel handed you the small clear box he had been holding, it had to have been the most beautiful corsage/boutonniere you had ever seen, the same pretty colors the two of you had chosen for your matching prom wear. "I wanted to give it to you at prom, but..thats not gonna happen anymore, so i thought i should give it to you now." He hesitated for a moment. You took it carefully into your hands, gently lifting it up to look at it closer. "Thank you Miguel.." your smile was so sad, once again your tears threatened to blur your vision again. Ramón moved closer "Here, keep these ones." He smiled as he handed you one of his absolute favorite pairs of silver stud earrings, "To remember us, dont lose em' ok?" He nodded as he backed off to give you space again.
"Thank you guys."
"You're welcome Mc.."
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
The year had just turned the numbers to 1984, after years gone, Murray finally had his job let him move home, however part of you knew you most likely wouldn't find your oldest friends in Miami again, your mind was scrambled as you watched the ocean below slowly turn into a beach, and then suddenly, the entirety of Miami. You could feel your cheek start to hurt as you grinned widely. Murray who had been napping next to you finally lifted his head. "We land yet?" He mumbled, turning his head slightly to peek out of the plane window. "Not quite, we're almost there though, i think." You said as you eagerly drummed your fingers on the folding seat table in front of you. "Relax kiddo, we'll get down soon, then you can go hunting for those old buddies of yours." He hummed as he leaned his head back again. "I'm not even sure they still live here anymore Murray." You hummed sadly. "Even if they did still live here im sure they wouldnt remember my face, that or they probably are married or in a relationship by now." Suddenly the airplanes flight attendant came onto the speaker, instructing the classic get ready to land speech you had heard one time too many. You and Murray sat up and got ready to leave the crammed plane.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
The two of you made your way off the plane, yawns and stretching followed the both of you as you settled into being back on solid ground. It was just as you remembered, Brightly colored, amazing architecture, everything your could remember was still here, in its place and still where you remembered it being. "Ready kiddo?" You snapped out of your dreamy daze. "Huh? Oh, oh yeah." You quickly snatched up your bags, carrying them to the car Murray had rented. "Ready to go home?" He asked as he shut the trunk. "Always." You smiled happily, trotting over to the driver side and swinging it open.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Driving down the streets of Miami felt refreshing, after being stuck in some boring town in Texas, being home in such a beautiful environment felt so right. Murray was reading a small book he had bought at the airport, he had mentioned he bought a hotel, and now the two of you were back to run it. You remembered how ecstatic you were when he told you, you hadn't been hapoy back in Texas, as you had been stuck with no real friends, most of those kids were absolute jerks, you only ever missed home.
Pulling up to the hotel, you could see the big bright neon letters 'MURRAY'S HOTEL AND BAR' you snickered as yout turned to your uncle "A bar AND hotel Uncle Mur?" "Yes, what about it? People love a good bar and somewhere to crash." He chuckled, patting you on the shoulder as he reached for the side door. The two of you hopped out of the car, bringing your things inside, it was cozy inside, still going with Miami's vibe and being stylish, but it still looked cozy and welcoming. "Your room is up on the second floor, i thought you'd like to be a little closer to the ground." He said with a smile, setting his own things on the hotel's front desk. "And if you want to, while im setting up some more of the business parts of the hotel, you can walk down the street to that fancy old hotel with the big pool and bar, it'll help get rid of that nasty jet lag." He shrugged off his coat. "I think i will, might be nice to look around anyway." You hummed as you walked towards the stairs, "See you later uncle Mur." "See ya kiddo." He replied before you disappeared upstairs.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Once you came back down the stairs, you shrugged a shoulder bag on and headed out the door of the hotel, making your way to the pool as well as taking in the sights of your old home city of Miami. The lights, the music being blasted from bars, people happily buying random shirts they'll never wear again at the tourist shops. You felt at home again.
Reaching the big fancy pool and bar, you led yourself inside, setting your things on a lounge chair and hurrying over to the bar, taking in the sounds of chatter between men and women, and families here for vacation. Ordering a simple vodka in one of those half cut coconuts, it was sweet and refreshing, but it still had that sting of after taste. Tasted of home too, you smiled. You once again walked across the pool, pulling on some sunglasses to block out the burning sun, and sitting back on your lounge chair, you began to relax.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Sipping away on the drink, and relaxing for more than and hour, you finally sat back up, going back to the bar for one more drink. "Excuse me? Can i get another one of these?" You asked with that sweet smile, the bartender nodded, getting you the same drink once again, as you turned to walk away with your prize, looking down at the drink you knew your were going to absolutely enjoy drinking the ever living hell out of, you were met with yourself being shoved, the drink flying from your hands, "Oh Shit! I'm sorry! I didn't see you there, I swear!" The voice quickly apologized, a guy, you thought, however when you turned your head, you noticed they had caught not only your drink but your attention as well. You nearly choked, "Holy shit..Bravo?"

You stared at him in blatant shock, quickly pulling off your sunglasses from your face as you sat up from the cold concrete of the pool side. You could tell by Miguel's features and expression that he was trying to process who he had just bumped into, finally you could see the pieces click in his head, as his eyes went wide. "Mc?" He sounded dazed, almost as if he couldnt believe who he was seeing in front of him. "When did you get back? Why did you come back? Are you just visitng?" You cracked a smile, he was still the same guy that you remembered, however this time the two of you were much older, and he for one, changed a lot. "Slow down Bravo, your gonna pass out with all the questions." You teased, pushing yourself up off the ground. "Right, my apologies." He smiled sheepishly, scratching the back of his neck in embarrassment, reaching his other arm out to help you up off the concrete. "Uncle Murray and I just got back a few hours ago, I felt the need to relax after the trip so i came here, i couldnt say i was expecting you to show up though." You snickered, crossing your arms over your chest. "So you're sticking around then?" He seemed to lean back on his heels as he looked you up and down for a moment, clearly still processing that you were really standing in front of him. "Sure am, here to stay too." You hummed with a big grin, watching Miguel's expression nearly light up like the neon signs outside of the fancy restaurants in Miami. "Seriously? You're staying in Miami? You're not just pulling my leg?" He asked as he copied your stance, crossing his arms and leaning back a little in skepticism of your answer. You laughed, "I'm serious Miguel, I'm here to stay this time." You could see his shoulders relax at that, he seemed so much taller now, extremely breathtakingly handsome too, how you were keeping your cool with your now unbelievably attractive childhood friend.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
The two of you decided to reconnect with a few drinks by the pool, sitting in the lounge chairs facing eachother, the two of you were talking of your lives as you both grew up. What you couldn't see was every moment you weren't looking, Miguel was absolutely enamored by you, watching you with a dreamy expression that he would quickly wipe away once you looked back at him, he couldn't deny the warm fluttering feeling in his chest everytime you looked at him with that soft look in your eyes. He felt like he could get lost forever just looking into your eyes. "Miguel, sorry to ruin your fun, but we gotta go." A voice called over from the fence, both you and Miguel snapped your heads towards the source of the sound, and sure enough there stood Ramón, still wearing those studded earring he had gotten junior year of highschool, you and Miguel had went with him when he got them pierced, he was so nervous, but went through with it when you stepped up and got your ears pierced too. You could only smile as you saw your second best friend, you responded to Ramón before Miguel even got a word out. "Aw, come on Rammy, you're gonna ruin our fun now? I just got back!" You snickered, seeing him cringe at the name for a moment, the way he used to when you first gave him the nickname in highschool. Then a moment of confusion wiped over his face, finally you could see the realization hit him like a truck, you had never seen Ramón move so fast, quickly swinging the gate open you could have sworn if he did it any harder he would have broken the gate's hinges. "Mc!? When the hell did you get back!?" He looked shocked, speed walking towards the two of you, "Few hours ago Ramón." Miguel answered, taking another sip of his drink. Ramón smiled, "You've gotta be kidding me. Gone for years and suddenly you show back up." He smiled. "What? You gonna be mad at me Rammy? I didnt have a choice to leave you know that." The three of you couldn't help but share a smile, "I know, i know." "So then, whats this most important thing you two got to going for?" You asked sitting up from the lounge chair, setting your drink to the side as you looked between the now nervous boys. Making you raise a brow to their nervous fidgeting. "What did you two get yourselves into?" You asked as you leaned forward, "heists?" Ramón shrugged a little, his voice minimizing as he noticed your slight change in tone, almost like a parent scolding their children. Your eyes blew wide "You two did what!?" Your voice crowded into a whisper yell, knowing speaking any louder could bring unwanted attention. "Well, 'did' is an understatement, its more of 'do' seeing as we still do it-" Miguel nervously looked to the ground. "You're fucking with me-" you looked at him before looking to Ramón who only shook his head in response. "Oh my god." You huffed, dragging a hand across in your face in motion to try and process what the hell your two best friends were doing. "We'll get done fast! Promise! Then we can pretend this didn't happen!" Ramón shrugged with a smile, "Ohoho no, you two aren't going without me." You said as you stood up, earning a look from the both of them, "what? No no absolutely not." Miguel stood up quickly after you, "I'm not putting you in danger like that. You just got home, I am not about to get you into trouble as soon as you got home." He snapped, he seemed passionate about keeping you safe, "Miguel we're not teenagers anymore, you can't keep me from making my own decisions." You said as you turned to look at him, "They're right Miguel, If they wanna come then its their choice." Ramón patted Miguel's shoulder, earning a brief glance from Miguel, before he turned his attention back to you. "Mc, you do understand how dangerous this is, right?" He asked as he sighed, his shoulders went tense."I know, and ive already made up my mind Miguel." You huffed as you matched his energy, crossing your arms in agitation. "Fine. But you stay in the car with me, got it?" "Fine, if thats what will calm your nerves, Miguel." You sighed, seeing Miguel's body relax at your compliance.
Ramón smiled, patting you both on the back, snapping the two of you out of your mini argument, “Great! Apresúrate, we’ve got a heist to catch.” He hummed happily as he turned on his heel and marched toward the pool entrance, leaving you and Miguel alone for a moment in uncomfortable silence, then you turned to him, “Don’t sweat it Bravo, I’ll be ok.” You said, smiling softly at him, he could only give you a faltering smile as he looked at you with a look of concern in his eyes. He took your hands into his own, looking down at your joined hands and sighing softly, “Just..don’t leave my sight. Please?” He asked with that same puppy dog look that always made you feel like you had just absolutely betrayed him. With a small sigh and giving the top of his hand a soft few pats in reassurance, you nodded “Alright Miguel, I promise.” He nodded in thanks, “Now come on Bravo, you know Rammy, he’ll kill us if we don’t hurry up.” You and Miguel shared a smile as the two of you followed Ramón out the pool and to the awaiting sports car.

TW Warnings: Depiction of blood and wounds, Angst, Slight Swear warning
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
As You and Miguel caught up to Ramón, the two of you watched him climb into the back seat, settling in the seats as he rested his arms around the backseat headrests. “Rammy, what are you doing?” You asked as you and Miguel split up, you walking over to the passenger door, and Miguel opening the driver side door. “Well now that your back you get shotgun, same way it was when we were all kids.” He smiled as he leaned onto one arm, leaning forward slightly as he looked up to you. You kept out a snort of laughter, “Whatever you say Ramón, let’s just get this over with yeah?” You hummed as you carefully swung the car door open and settled down in the passenger seat. Miguel looked to you with a concerned expression, “Are you completely sure you wanna do this?” “Bravo I’m not going anywhere.” You huffed in annoyance, crossing your arms over your chest. “Ok ok, fine.” He gave a small frustrated sigh, finally starting the car, taking a deep breath as he pulled away from the curb.
Driving down the streets of Miami, palm trees passing the three of you by, along with neon lights. Eventually you turned, looking over to the two boys, Ramón was humming along with the radio, tapping his hand on the top of one of the headrests. Miguel was focused on the road, weaving past cars left and right, his entire body language screamed uncomfortable and nervous. Every stop light had him immediately nervously fidgeting with his hands. “So Ramón, what exactly is this heist?” You asked turning your attention to him, seeing him perk up at the sound of your voice. “Ah, I’m glad you asked Mc, you’ve heard of Nicholas Valentino?” He asked as he shifted to sit closer to the front seats. “Yeah? I mean who hasn’t?” You responded, leaning closer to him as well, the wind passing by and making it harder to hear. “We’re out for this million dollar bracelet.”
“The one he got for his lover in the 20’s?” You asked, taken aback by the notion of stealing an almost million dollar piece of jewelry. “Yeah, that one.” “You’re kidding…” your jaw nearly dropped as Ramón nodded in response. A large grin on his face as he looked at your dumbfounded expression. “He’s kidding right?” You whipped your head around, looking to Miguel, however he was stuck staring at the road, slowly turning back to Ramón. “Is he okay?” You asked him, “Couldn’t tell you, he looks pretty tense though doesn’t he?” You nodded, both of you looking to Miguel. Who was drumming his fingers nervously onto the steering wheel, again you looked back to Ramón. “So how is this gonna go?” Watching Ramón snap out of his trance, and look back to you. “Well, you and Miguel will stay here in the car, I’m the one who’s gonna jack the bracelet from the carrying truck, then, once i get it, I’ll run back to the car and we’ll drive away.” “That easy?” “That easy.” The thought of a heist was extremely exhilarating, but your mind couldn’t help but tell you how insanely dangerous this was going to be. “That means you’re going in by yourself..” you quickly came to realize, you gaze snapping up to meet Ramón’s own, holding an uneasy look in his face. “Yeah, but I’ve been doing this for a long time, I’ll be okay Mc.” He reassured you, placing a hand on your shoulder and giving it a comforting squeeze. “If you say so Rammy.” You sighed, letting go of the tense feeling in your chest.
The nerve wracking feeling of dread fell over you, seeing the gigantic museum on the left of the getaway car. Ramón was eagerly tapping his foot, “Once that truck pulls up, its go time.” He smiled to himself. You could feel the tenseness of the air, watching the roads intensely, you could see Miguel nervously looking in the rear view mirror, and back out to the front. Ramón startled the both of you, eagerly putting the chairs “It’s Here! Look!” He whispered excitedly. Miguel took an audible deep breath, “Didn’t think I’d be pulling a heist with my two childhood best friends.” He sighed as he leaned forward, resting his forehead on the top half of the steering wheel. You gently patted his shoulder, “And I didn’t know I’d be doing a heist hours after i return to my home city.” You teased, watching Miguel lift his head and giving a small sarcastic look of ‘oh thanks’ which made you snicker. “Alright.” Miguel and you were quickly pulled away from your conversation, Ramón smiled as he hopped out of the convertible, not bothering to open the door. “Wish me luck.” He smiled as he quietly dashed over to the van that had pulled to the curb.
Miguel was tense, subconsciously reaching for the gearshift, prepared to quickly move once Ramón secured the bracelet. You were sitting beside him, the nervous feeling of unknowing if Ramón would succeed , you and Miguel hesitantly watched the van, however with how the giant iron doors were opened, you couldn’t see a single thing. Then it rang out, once. Twice. Three times. Your breath quickened, as you watched Ramón quickly dart around the van door, you felt the car start to move, getting faster as Ramón approached, holding onto a small black box, and launched himself into the back seat of the convertible. Miguel quickly changed gears, speeding away while gunshots rang out behind the three of you. You could feel the wizzing of bullets pass next to and above you. Spinning around, you could see Ramón laying low in the backseat, he was beaming at you, proud of himself, and you couldn’t help but smile back, seeing how happy Ramón was for getting away from the guards. You two of you shared a laugh as if you couldn’t imagine what you just did, a joke that was so morbid that only the two of you could ever find funny. Miguel was dead focused on weaving the three of you in and out of cars, the moment had all of you in a fit of intense adrenaline, you had turned to face behind the car, seeing the blaring and bright red and blue sirens from the police cruisers.
That’s when you felt it, a loud whoosh and a loud and a muffled snap, you could feel the skin in your chest being ripped, agonizing and an all around gut wrenching feeling of your insides being torn apart. The taste of iron and thick syrupy liquid filling your mouth, you could only swallow down the metallic taste, it was absolutely horrid, feeling faint and starting to shiver at the feeling. Looking down to your shirt you could see crimson blossoming from the wound in your chest, you reached a hand to your now scorching painful gunshot wound, you could feel your hands start to shake, and your vision start to blur with tears, looking up from your bloodied hands you could see all in a single moment, Ramón’s smile faded, panic settling in his expression as he shoved the box away, and swiftly adjusted himself to get to you, through your blurred vision you could make out Ramón saying something amidst the fray, getting Miguel’s attention. Feeling pressure on your chest as what felt like a fabric being pressed tightly to your body, your seat being laid back. The muffled sounds of Ramón and Miguel’s voices filled your head, you could feel your heart pounding wildly, hands shaking as the taste of thick iron filled your lungs, the excruciating pain of trying to simply breathe made you only cough up the disgusting taste of metal, blood streaming down your face. The pulsing feeling of your veins on fire as you felt something digging into your skin, it burned, felt as if you were being torn from the inside out as the feelings of boiling blood, and cold and wet unknown liquids filled your wounds. All knew is that you couldn’t scream, as much as you tried, the viscous blood in your throat keeping you from making a sound other than gurgled, and strained noises.
After the blurred realization that this may be the last moment of your life, you could only feel your body giving out, the overwhelming sounds of muffled voices, sirens, and the loud rumbling of a sports engine, the labored breathing of your lungs, and the sting of every nerve in your body. You finally gave out, and let yourself fall into an eerie darkness.

When you were first admitted to the hospital everyone assumed that it would be a one day trip, the day it happened you had fainted in the kitchen while helping Antonia and Isabel make dinner. You could only remember the sound of panic from your family. Waking up in the Hospital room, the stinging smell of sterilized equipment, and annoying beeps of the heart monitor filling your senses. ‘A mystery illness’ they called it, the doctors spent days and nights working tests and other types of medications to help your condition. Miguel had been there the entire time, always holding your hand when they took blood for tests, never leaving your side when you passed out from the large amounts of drugs they gave you to help ease the stinging pain that filled your lungs and heart when you took the smallest breath. You couldn’t understand why you had gotten sick, or how. But everyday was spent listening to doctors come in and out of the room, watching Jose and Isabel try to force Miguel to go home to get real sleep, you, yourself had to force him to go home. Pain always pounded in your chest, everyday it got worse. Your condition becoming worse as you slowly grew pale, your eyes tired and heavy from the nights you had spent awake from the copious amounts of excruciating pain radiating through your body.
This night your entire family and friends came to the hospital, being forced to stay out in the hall, as your pained screams echoed through the hospital corridors. Miguel was pacing, Ramón doing his best to get his best friend to sit down and relax. Nobody knew your condition now, at the rate it was going Agent Blake showed up, so did Miguel’s sisters. Everyone who had cared for you had gathered outside your hospital room. Holding each other, everyone comforting Miguel, with kind words and failed attempts of distraction, all they could do was wait.
Hours.
Silence followed.
Pacing.
Finally, after almost 16 excruciating hours of no news of what was happening to you, of Miguel and the others watching doctors and nurses rushing in and out of your room, the sound of harsh breathing and shouts of “Clear!” And “Again!” Being heard when the doors swung open. Two Nurses and the main doctor came out, pulling his mask down he addressed your awaiting family. Everyone’s gaze turned to the official, “You’ll want to say your goodbye’s, They’re most likely to not make it through tonight. We’ve done all we can do.” The man took a deep breath, seeing everyone’s expressions drop, Ramón and Jose rushed to Miguel’s side, watching him breakdown into gasping tears, the normally confident and relaxed man turning into a hyperventilating mess. His parents and Abuelita pulling him up from the floor, “We have to see them Miguel. It’s all we can do now. They need us .” His father quietly whispered to his son, rubbing his back as he helped his son walk to the hospital room door.
They all walked in slowly, seeing your weak form in the hospital bed, Miguel stayed by the door at first, watching his family surround you, smiling gently, and whispering comforting words, tears falling from their faces as they held your fragile hands in theirs, that’s when you lifted your head looking around at your friends and family around you, “where’s Miguel?” You asked, the quiet whimpers of your voice echoed in the hospital room, it was the only thing you’d keep asking, “Is Miguel here?” “Miguel?” “Please tell me he’s here.” You sounded so tired, weak and broken. He could barely stand up straight hearing you this way, the fear in his clouded mind, the though of losing you was a nightmare he wished wasn’t coming true. Just a year ago you had been healthy and lively, your smile brightened his day after he had a horrible one. You could sit in bed of your shared condo, watching shittily made horror movies, eating breakfast in bed and chasing each other around the apartment with big bright smiles. Now it was all rushing to him that he was losing you. Every memory he shared with you was so close to being just the past, history that he’d only ever be able to relieve in dreams. He could only move closer in silence, he took a deep breath, looking on as you met his gaze, “Miguel.” You’re voice sounded so weak, but you sounded so happy just seeing him in front of you. You had let go of Antonia’s hand, reaching out for Miguel to join you at the bedside, carefully taking your hand into his and sitting down beside you.
Finally you took a deep breath, “I’m dying aren’t i?” You whispered, earning a collective look of shock, you could see everyone sharing nervous glances. “No, Mc, you’re staying here.” Miguel held your hand tighter, looking over you slowly weakening expression, your eyes were glassy. Watching your breathing become slower and labored, everyone gathered closer, the pain in your lungs returned, fogging your thoughts in agony, you tired to look at the people around you, but you could only look past them. It hurt, and all you wanted was to go home. “When we get out of here, we should spend the day at the beach.” You hummed between faltering huffs, attempts from your body as you tried to breathe. “I…I heard its supposed to be nice next week.” On the top of your hand you could feel the drops of tears, shifting your weight onto one side, letting out a pained groan. “Can we?” Between your blurred vision you could make out Miguel nodding slowly, “Of course we can.”
“…”
“Miguel?”
“Hm?”
“You remember when we talked about having a wedding?” He looked up from the floor, seeing your face twisted into a pained smile. “I remember.” He said, rubbing his thumb over the back of your hand. “If i go, promise me you’ll give someone else that wedding, anyone would be lucky to have you.” Miguel’s expression was pained, looking over your own pain filled expression. “Miguel, promise me?” “Mc…” “Promise me.” You squeezed his hand meekly, with what strength you had left. You could feel your body giving out under you, your lungs began to burn, the taste of metal filled your senses, ‘almost there’ you thought. “Don’t worry, I’ll save you spot wherever I’m going.” You smiled, wincing on pain as a sharp sting ran through your spine, every nerve in your body felt like it had been lit on fire, but you could only hold onto you family and friends hands tighter. Finally as the pain faded, you got one better look at your loved ones.
Taking a breath, you looked to the window, ‘Daylight’ you assumed, watching the light start to pour into the room.
“Mc?”
“Hmm?”
“I promise.”

The feeling of numbness filled your senses, slowly you could hear the world around you. First muffled, then a little bit clearer, and suddenly you came to your senses, first Miguel’s voice rang out, then Ramón’s voice followed after his. ‘Arguing’ you thought, slowly opening your eyes to a blinding light above you. The pale ceiling above didn’t help a single bit with your now pounding headache, you turned your head to the side, looking around at your surroundings.
Finally opening your eyes all the way, you could make out the nice living room you were placed in. “Guys?” You called out meekly, looking around for the boys. Being caught off guard when you saw them both quickly come out from where you assumed the kitchen was, the look of concern, then calmness when they saw you awake. “Mc! You’re awake, are you feeling okay? Can you breathe alright?” Miguel was the first to quickly get to you, kneeling down beside you and resting the back of his hand on your forehead “just dizzy.” You muttered in response, your dazed expression only sending Miguel into a state of worry once again, “Ramón, grab them water please?” He turned his head to Ramón, who nodded and returned back to the kitchen. As soon as he went into the kitchen, Miguel helped you sit up on the couch you were placed on. He pushed fingers through your hair, “you sure you’re feeling ok?” You nodded slowly, wincing in pain as you tried to sit up all the way. “Careful cariño, you lost a lot of blood.” Miguel sighed as he helped you sit up all the way, letting you sit all the way back into the pillows and blankets that had been placed around you while you had been passed out. “Jeez, how long was i out?” You asked, rubbing the back of your head. “About an hour, Miguel was sure you were dead.” Ramón came waltzing around the corner, holding a large glass of water in his hand, “But, lucky you, you’re still alive.” He smiled as he handed you the cold cup. You snickered as you took one long drink of the freezing water. The chill of the water relaxing your aching body. “I knew you shouldn’t have come with us.” Ramón and you looked over to Miguel, who was running his hand through his hair with a low grumble, “I knew something was going to happen, and when it happened i knew it was my fault..” “Oh hush Bravo, I’m alive aren’t i?” You set the cup onto the table, sitting up more, swinging your feet over the edge of the couch, causing both of the boys to quickly move over to your sides. “Oh, quit, I’m old enough to stand on my own.” You huffed, pushing yourself up against the slight pain in your chest. “I just wanna go relax at home, being shot kinda sucks, and makes you want a smoothie.” Your last remark made them both smile, the pair chuckling as they watched you shuffle towards the door. “Abuelita will be here soon though.” You froze and turned, “Abuelita is coming?” Ramón smiled “Well yeah, this is her house.” He shrugged, crossing his arms as he sat down in one of the giant arm chairs near the window. Finally looking around at your surroundings, you could finally make out the portraits on the walls, photos of the three of you when you were kids. “How long ago were these?” You asked, reaching your hand out to touch the frames. “The three of you we’re just coming out of middle school.” Your head snapped around, Abuelita standing at the front door with a smile, you could feel your heart swell at the sight of her, she hadn’t changed at all, and it was comforting. “Hi Abuelita..” you smiled, her smile widened. Almost skipping over to you and pulling you into a strong hug, wincing slightly once she pulled away.
After a whole hour of being fed and talking to Abuelita about what it was like so far from Miami, Miguel and Ramón had stepped away to let you relax after the events from earlier. Abuelita smiled, turning to you as the boys left, “are you going to tell him?” “Huh?” You sat up, tenderly holding your hand above your chest. “The way you two look at each other, the same way you did all those years ago too, its obvious.” She snickered, gently pinching your cheek as she sat beside you. “He was destroyed when you left, he didn’t go to prom either.” She said as she stood up, patting your shoulder. “Tell him.” She whispered as she walked into the kitchen, just as Miguel and Ramón walked back in, “ready to leave?” Miguel asked walking further into the room, Ramón passing beside him and walking to the door, thinking about what Abuelita had said to you made you nod, a small hum of recognition as you stood up, getting help from Miguel as he let you use his arm as something to hold onto to stand.
as you left Abuelita’s home, you and Miguel had brought Ramón home. Miguel had stated several times he wasn’t leaving your side, you would have to deal with him staying with you until you felt better, or at least until your wound sealed up. Now driving home, you could see how relaxed he was now, drumming his gloved fingers onto the steering wheel. “Feeling better Mc?” His voiced echoed in your mind, snapping you out of your trance, shaking yourself back into reality, you responded “wha? Oh, yeah, yeah I’m all good now, doesn’t hurt as much.” You hummed, smiling gently as you sat up a bit in your seat. “Good, i was afraid you’d be more dazed at this point.” He said nervously, sparing you brief glances as he shifted in his own seat. “Well I’m fine, I’ll be ok, you really don’t need to stick around.” You said quietly, awkwardly fidgeting with the hem of your shirt, “Well I’m the reason you got hurt, so now you’re my responsibility.” He huffed, giving you a patient grin, the feeling of butterflies melted in your stomach when he looked at you like that. You could only smile back as the two of you pulled back up to your uncle Murray’s hotel. Matching Miguel’s walking speed, the pair of you made your way up to the second floor, reaching into your pocket and grabbing your keys to let both of you in. “God i need a break.” You laughed as you sat down on the bed, wincing once again. Miguel looked around the room, looking at some of the things you had laying around, that when he spotted a small clear box on the counter, lifting it up he finally realized what it was. “You kept it?” He asked, seeing you look over your shoulder to see what he was talking about.
That small box still had the dried flowers Miguel had gotten you for prom. Still there, still as gorgeous as they were all those years ago.
“Why wouldn’t i have kept them?” You asked with a smile. “I just couldn’t bring myself to throw them away.” You said with a small sigh. Miguel looked at the box, and then to you, setting the box down to the side and walking over and grabbing your hand, “well I’m glad you kept them.” He said looking to the floor, nervously keeping his eyes away from your face, his face beet red, knowing he’d give himself away if he faced you. Outside, the soft sound of street performers echoed into the room, gentle music muffled by the windows. Then, you had an idea, standing up and letting go of his hand, watching him look up from the floor and to you, walking to the window you pushed it open, the music getting louder as you let the cooling air into the room. “Come on Bravo” you smiled as you spun on your heel, looking at him with a big grin. Holding out your hands to him, hesitantly, he reached for your hands, lifting himself up and following you to the empty space in the room. “What are we doing?” He asked nervously. Leaving him in standing, you carefully pinned the dried flower to yourself, “I promised all those years ago didn’t I?” You smiled softly, seeing him get a little misty eyed, as he nodded “You did.”
“Then what are you doing?” You laughed softly as you watched him stumble over himself, grabbing each other’s hands and leading yourselves into a comfortingly slow dance.
Abuelita was right. You were very much in love, and you had fallen hard.

The next morning was quiet, the only sounds vibrating in the air were the soft hums of the big boxy ac unit, and the low grumbles from the sleeping man next to you, both of you curled together in a warm embrace, limbs tangled together as the two of you huddled close. Laying so close to Miguel, you could hear the faint thumping of his heartbeat, the warmth of his embrace lulling you back to sleep. What did wake you up was the sound of Miguel starting to shift and mutter, a groan coming from him as you felt him start to sit up, still holding you close to his chest. His gentle hold on you keeps you from shaking awake. He stretched, looking down at your sleeping form.
Carefully slid you to the side and swung his legs over the side of the bed, giving himself space away from your sleeping form as he stretched his arms towards the ceiling. The sunlight peeking through the cotton-white curtains of your room. Lifting your head groggy from sleep, you could see the sunlight dim, as Miguel pulled the curtains closer together, hiding the blinding sun from you. "Well Goodmorning." You heard him chuckle, tilting your head up further, you could see that familiar grin on his face; his arms crossed over his chest as he looked down at your sleepy self. "Goodmorning Miguel.." you hummed, stretching as you pushed yourself up from the bed, yawning as you felt the mattress dip beside you, seeing Miguel sitting on the edge of the bed, he smiled at you as he reached a hand over to your face, pushing some of the stray hairs out of your face. "Feeling alright?" He asked, his expression softening as he moved his hand away from your face. "Mhm, much better now that I'm home." You smiled for a moment, before wiggling to the side of the bed to sit next to Miguel. "How are you feeling?" You asked, tilting your head to the side as you looked at the man before you, seeing him smile as he leaned back against the headboard. "Better now that you're home." You felt your face flush with heat, seeing his genuine smile as he stared at you with an adoring gaze. "Well aren't you a charmer, where was that a few years ago? Had you talked like that to me I think I would have stayed." You laughed, seeing Miguel's expression of admiration turn into one of embarrassment. "Excuse me?" You saw him smile through his embarrassed facade, waving his hand around as he tried to take attention away from his face. You leaned forward, seeing him push himself back further against the headboard of the bed, he was smiling and laughing as you started interrogating him, "Where is my nerdy Miguel, and what did you do to him? My Miguel doesn't know how to speak to women, let alone flirt!" You poked his side, earning a bright and bubbly laugh from him. "The Miguel, you knew is gone! I'm so much better now!" He laughed between deep breaths as you started poking and tickling him mercilessly, "I don't want this fancy Miguel! I want my Miguel!" You started to laugh, suddenly your hands were seized, looking up from your laughing fit you could see Miguel looking at you questioningly, "Your Miguel?" He asked, you nodded in response.
"My Miguel. The nerdy boy in high school who would come running to Ramón and me when a new comic book came out, the Miguel who would drag us to the side shops on the beaches to look at the cool little knickknacks. That's my Miguel." You smiled as you turned your hands in his, holding them gently in your grasp. He felt his heart skip a whole beat, looking into your eyes, scouring your soul for a hint of you messing with him. But you weren't. You were fully serious, with a genuine smile on your face as you stared into his own eyes. "Now enough messing around, I'm sure Ramón wants us to go see Abuelita and go get brunch or something." You patted his hands as you let him go, standing up from the bed and grabbing some spare clothes. "Well? Go freshen up Miggy, we don't have all morning." You laughed as you waltzed into the restroom.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
As the sun shone brighter, you and Miguel stepped back out into the streets, and a warm feeling of salty sea air brushed against the skin of the pair of you. People walking up and down the boardwalk, laughter and a comfortable feeling swelled in the air, both of you joining hands as you walked down the road, you both decided today you would walk around the downtown area instead, you complained that you wouldn't get the same at home experience you remembered should you drive everywhere. You sighed, feeling the warm spring sun on your skin, the slightly chilled air breezing by, you could see the old houses ahead, your familiar street corner getting nearer as you walked beside Miguel. Seeing two people outside of the house, Ramón and Abuelita, she changed, but you still felt the tears of reminiscences coming to your eyes as the two of you go closer to those familiar gates near the front of the yard.
The same yard you, Miguel, and Ramón ran back and forth from when you were all tots. It made you smile, you couldn't help but hold onto Miguel, a bit tighter.
Today wouldn't be so bad after all.
Im back and ready to work, i should have the next part of CR done in a few hours, thanks to coffee and Phisnom fnaf streams, until then have a good morning, afternoon, or night, y'all <3

Childhood Romance (7)

Part 6
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Walking into the house felt just as it did so many years ago, comforting and warm, the smell of fresh baked food wafting into the air, and the low buzzing of the AC unit filling the quiet home. Miguel had walked into the kitchen with Abuelita, leaving you and Ramón out in the living area, Ramón was slouched comfortably in one of the giant plush seats, worn down from years of comfortable usage. "Soooo MC, how was your first night back?" Ramón smiled, leaning onto the arm of the chair, brushing back his waved hair from his face. "You're trying to tease, aren't you?" You leaned onto your arm, smiling as you watched his expression drop into a surprised expression. "What? No! No, no, i didn't mean it like that." Ramón started to laugh, rubbing his hand over his face, "Did you, though?" He looked up at you. "HA no! Absolutely not." You laughed, pulling yourself back from his space, bringing your hand up to your face. "You are impossible, y'know that?" You glared at him, a smirk slowly creeping onto your face as you and Ramón held eachothers gaze. "If I wasn't, would I really be myself?" He smiled in response, quickly ducking down as a pillow projectile flew towards him. "I'm kidding! I swear! This is assault!" Ramón yelped as the two of you broke into a tussle on the carpet.
"What the hell are you two doing?" The pair of you snapped your eyes up to Miguel and Abuelita, who were standing in the kitchen doorway. Abuelita smiling, and Miguel giving you both a slightly disappointed but amused look. "No idea what you're talking about." You smile, still sitting over Ramón who was splayed on the floor laughing quietly. "Assault-" Ramón started, being silenced as you tossed the pillow over his head. "He's delirious." You retorted, smiling innocently as you moved off of him.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••
The group of you relaxed in the living room as Abuelita was listening to the three of you getting comfortable once again. After years away, it felt almost as if nothing had changed. The food definitely tasted the same, if not better.
•••••••••••••
"So." You looked over to the boys. The three of you had left for the beach a few hours ago. Miguel and Ramón had convinced you to join them to watch the sunset. "What's with the fancy car?" You asked, looking down at the hood of the sports car you had been carefully sitting upon for the last half an hour. Watching the boys exchange a glance as Miguel looked to you. "Well, we uh.." "What did you do?" You cut him off, squinting in suspension as you slid off of the hood and onto the sand. "It's more of what we do - Ow! Hey! I was being honest!" Ramón yelped as Miguel jabbed him in the ribs, seeing him smile nervously as he tried to safe face. "Well?" You crossed your arms as you looked down at them both sitting on the sand. "Heists." Ramón grumbled, flinching as Miguel whipped back around to glare at him.
"You what -"
