I don't know how to articulate myself, but there is something so compelling about Michael and Nico at Mercedes. Nico and Mika being the equivalent of Michael and Sebastian and Nico is paired with Michael, Mika's greatest rival, at Mercedes and Michael refuses to acknowledge his existence. I cannot find a single instance of Michael mentioning Nico by name while they weren't in a direct conversation. Michael focusing all the love, affection and support on Sebastian while Nico is the subject of all his mind games. To add to that, Seb is winning championship while they are struggling in the tin can that was Mercedes in the first 3 years (Michael struggled more). Mercedes gave Michael a young German with world champion potential and he said 'no thanks, I like the other one'. Michael making Nico question some things by just being shirtless in front of him because in Nico's own words, he had an incredible body. I have more thoughts but this is already too long

How would little Schumi react if you would came up to him right after that damned Hockenheim 1990 and say that this shy blonde finn will become arguably his greatest rival, but not just greatest rival. In formula 1. And that Michael would respect him like he doesn't respect anyone else and that respect would be double-sided? That one day, from being just a good drivers somewhere in f3 they would become legends in f1, forever engraving their names in history.
