I've been in a bit of a creative slump – work and all that, but recently I've created my own slugcat, The Devourer!
Devour (or Juno) is basically one of those characters that seem to be unkillable, untouchable, yet is always functioning at ~95% and a chunk of that percentage is dedicated to not hit the 100% limit.
He's a violent slugcat, and as aided by his larger form, will rend flesh from bone with just his jaws if need be. He's quickly able to master new skills to survive when pressured enough, at the cost of forgetting them if not stressed enough, though he hates doing this.
As is his namesake, he needs a lot of food to stay satiated, though I'd imagine this food would quickly be 'burned' due to the fact he's a damned damage sponge.
He'll survive by any means necessary. He is not above cannibalism. He also does cuddle, but don't tell him where you heard that from.
✦ Naming Conventions
Denizens names pull from many things both old and new. While any one of them can be named anything, they tend to follow a system.
Humanoids tend to be named after concepts, and when they eventually have children with someone else, they will name the children based off of those concepts.
For example — Urgency + Criticality = Intensive Care, Deadline, Flaregun / Cupid /
Kreyati can have two recognised names. The first is a personal name, usually given upon birth, and the second is an earned title, solidified by witnesses to their deeds. Many with titles defend them to their dying breath.
For example — Dominic the Great, Saraa the White, The Engineer (Issac), Beloved Sisota Jean
Mythocuerta names tend to be fickle. They by far boast the most languages under their belt, and names brought from these can either be brought about through vocalisation, colours, etc., and they take great pains to do so. They tend to appreciate names that meant a lot in the Old World such as majour cities, that denizens no longer recognise.
For example — Sweden, Quetlztabbine, Laa;haa, Ran'dii, Saturn
Pets of denizens happen to be named adverbs, and it is seen as odd to name them / a child otherwise. These names also tend to be the subject of jokes :)
For example — Always, Overseas, Bodly, Finally

I know I haven’t been posting much art. I know I’m going ~500 words a day on this novelette and I know I just saw one of my favs casually mention they did 10k in 2 days but I am so happy. These past few days I’ve been in a state of bliss. I’m so close to being done. I’ll be putting my thoughts on all of this in the acknowledgements page but ohhh this lady ..
