Headcanon: Anakin is not a child of the force but rather a manifestation of the force in the physical world. His own force signature and what energy he draws upon reflects the energy around him and the beings that surround him. As a boy around Shmi, he was rooted in the light side of the force. With the Jedi, he is rooted in the light side but Palpatine’s influence at Coruscant definitely changes and makes him more volatile. On Mortis, with physical manifestations of all parts of the force gives him an opportunity to find balance and control both the light and dark (son and daughter). Mustafar is a locus of the dark side of the force so he had no chance to draw on the light in that state. It wasn’t till Luke began training in the force and fully embraced the light side that Anakin was able to reconnect with the light.
As the chosen one he wasn’t necessarily supposed to bring balance but he would reflect the balance of the force in the universe at any given time, and as Palpatine drew the universe into darkness and despair during the clone wars, Anakin fell into darkness and despair
I might write up some kinda ficlet about this but we will see

only its a perfect replica of the galaxy and also kind of like a human-mode!tutorial because supernatural beings beyond our comprehension
he hasn't been born yet, when he is he will be in the real galaxy
he had to learn to equivalent of crawl and walk first
it's why the opening crawls read like story books
the mortis arc was his older brother picking him up out of his playpen while he was holding his obi and snips dolls
the dagger was his brother and his brothers oops babies being sent to their rooms
the force decided on a training playmat for anakin so he wouldn't accidentally create baby demigods while he was too young to be a parent like his brother did
the stuff that happened without him is just him telling the story and smushing his toys together
now that he's "dead"/grown out of the mat and playpen he has to cope with the fact that no one he loved was real they're all plushies
the ones older than him are based on real tiny beings in the galaxy but they haven't shared a life together and don't know him
and the force doesn't really understand why he's upset

So a snippet of an AU that’s rattling around in my brain.
For context, Mortis goes very differently, and the Daughter and the Son live, are reconciled and learn to balance each other, and the Father dies peacefully after giving each of Our Heroes a gift.
They aren’t sure what it is at first, but quickly figure out that it is shielding against the Darkness that is clouding the Force - it doesn’t shield them completely, but they are seeing more clearly than anyone else.
If I write this (IF! Note the IF!) it will be Anakin/ Padmé and Obi-Wan/Cody/Rex and possibly Ahsoka/Barriss (I have problems with Ahsoka-voice so we’ll see). Not really relevant to this bit, which I couldn’t get out of my head.
This would take place the day before the Rako Hardeen mess.

Would Anakin and Padme ask Anakin’ Siblings the daughter and the son of the morris gods to babysit Luke and Leia when the parents want a date night and how would the Jedi react to seeing the avatars of both light and dark babysitting the twins?
i feel like at some point it would end up being the twins babysitting the mortis gods (which is even more confusing for any Jedi)
