Motaz Azaiza - Tumblr Posts
Shayma and her family needs help relocating to safety outside of gaza. She’s only 25 and holding together two of her passed sister’s children who are mentally drained after the passing of their mother and their other sister.
If possible please donate to her GoFundMe and share, she’s the sweetest girl and deserves the world. Her Twitter is @dpechesmode.

motaz azaiza just posted a video of israeli officers indiscriminately shooting at civilians (and him) as they tried to run away. he and bisan and all other on-site journalists are living in a nightmare simulator just so they could be the ears and eyes of gaza—and yet we still have people who’re “considering whether this is any of their concern” “uninformed so they refuse to speak” “choosing to stay neutral.” motaz was one of the journalists who basically posted their eulogies earlier this week. this can’t get any more horrifying and dystopian. we need a ceasefire.

From Motaz’s ig story
Very sad to hear Motaz apologize for choosing safety and evacuating as if he owes the world anything.
If anything the world owes him an apology. He kept on going despite his mental health decreasing day by day.
May he live a long and happy life, so he can tell his story to future generations.
Palestinian journalist of Ghazzah, Motaz Azaiza, has been named man of the year by GQ Middle East.

Both Motaz Azaiza and Hamdan Dahdouh have reported airstrikes on the Khan Younis area of Gaza today. On his Instagram story, Hamdan stated:
"The situation in Khan Younis on the tenth day:
"No internet or any means of communication available, and airstrikes, drone attacks, and artillery bombardment persist.
"Homes are being demolished with dynamite, entire residential areas are affected, and accessing the internet is very difficult. We climb to the hospital roof to get a signal, exposing ourselves to various forms of targeting."

As Hamdan reported, communications in Gaza have been down for multiple days now. You can donate esims to Gaza to give Gazans connections for up to 30 days. The esim website itself is incredibly helpful and details exactly how to purchase the esim (instructions on how to donate are on the main page I linked first). It also gives discount codes for Holafly (5% off when you use HOLACNG) and Nomad (NOMADCNG) esim providers. @fairuzfan also has an esim tag full of discount codes to make the esims more affordable!
If after reading the instructions you're still unclear on how to send the esim, you can message me directly and I will walk you through the process. Donating esims is an easy and direct way to help those in Gaza reach the rest of the world, including their families and loved ones outside of the Strip, so if you can afford to do so, please do.

Motaz has decided to evacuate from Gaza after risking his life for months to cover the genocide.
Motaz just posted a story in Instagram that shows "israeli" tanks very near his area and just a few minutes ago a story of him having to move away because of them and I'm fucking terrified for him. May Allah protect him.
"Motaz"
2024

My first artwork of the year is dedicated to the incredible Motaz Azaiza and to all the heroic Palestinian journalists of the Gaza Strip: to those who, like him, continue to report bravely, steadfastly, the horrific situation in their homeland; to those who have made the difficult but also brave decision to leave for safety; and to the all too many who have been unjustly killed in their line of work, murdered by the Israeli State in a cowardly attempt to cover up their crimes.
An unfair burden has been put in the shoulders of these journalists, a lot of whom are shockingly young and just fresh out of university. Not only do they have to struggle to survive during a veritable genocide of their people, but they have to do so whilst reporting on it, whilst serving as spokespersons of all the suffering and grief inflicted on themselves and their kin. Multinational media conglomerates with overwhelmingly more power and resources have consistently and actively refused to treat the Palestinian people with the transparency, truth, and dignity that they deserve. So it's been up to these brave men and women to do the job that others will not do, to arm themselves with their own cameras and their social media pages and their unparalleled courage to tell their own stories and their own realities, to use languages foreign to them so that the world might better understand and sympathize with their plight. I cannot overstate what an enormous, heroic effort that must be, and I am in complete awe and admiration of them; but I also feel sorry and ashamed that these folks, many with their whole lives in front of them, have so unjustly, so cruelly, been thrust into this position. Yet through it all they have never failed to carry themselves with the passion, the dignity, the strength, and the zest for life that I've come to learn so characterizes the Palestinian people, and for that one can't help but admire them even more.
