It was exactly 14 minutes and 37 seconds before Bruce knocked on Dani's door trying to hide the fact that he was well out of breath. He had ran from his cab simply to make it in time.

[ text - Dr. Sexy ]: Oh, and I’m not wearing any underwear and I’ve been thinking about you all day… :)

He leaned down and ran a hand through her hair, pulling her back by her ponytail so she would stay focused on him. He loved to sound of the sobs in her voice, the begging coming from her. He pulled her closer to him.
"Not tonight, my precious girl. But I will."
"Put the knife down."

Slurred words (mutantdoctor - ehehe)

I love her. Dani is sharp as a tack and smart as... smart as can be. She's one tough girl. And she's beautiful, hottest girl I've ever had the pleasure of... had a lot of pleasure. She has a fantastic ass. She could give me a physical anyday.
.... She's much too good for me.

Dani and Alex always make Bruce happy.Dani makes hulk happy too.
Bruce would probably give up living if he lost Dani. Leaving only Hulk to carry on. Without Bruce’s desire Hulk has no purpose

"They’re my everything."

"You know what I mean. You're young and I am more than physically older than you. I can't keep up."
"I'm old enough to be your father--okay, maybe not THAT old, but still!"

Dani stared at him almost blankly, the only way she was able toproperly hide her agitation withthe scientist.
”You’re not that much older than me, Bruce! And why are you bringin’ this up now?”
"I won’t leave you." He murmured quietly as he brought her a cup of chamomile tea. "Not alone, not again, not ever again. I’m so sorry I left you, Princess."

"Why don't you drink your tea, and then take a nice hot shower. I'll get you something to wear. You can take my bed, and I'll sleep on the couch, no one will bring harm to you."
He reached for his phone and sent a text to Dani. As he stood, "I'll keep you safe. No matter what."

It had only been one night. One night since he’d last seen the girl, since he’d gotten her a hotel and had a long talk with Hulk. One night and everything had fallen to pieces.
When he arrived at the hotel to pick the girl up, she was covered in fresh bruises. He was glad nothing seemed broken, even with her crumbled, crying on the floor. He said nothing as he scooped her in to his arms, only murmuring an, “everything will be okay, Princess,” as he carried her into a cab, and took her home.
He felt pity for the girl, and anger for her. The clawing feeling returned inside of him, and he knew he would eventually give in to the Hulk and let him tear the boy limb from limb. That he wouldn’t ever let anyone touch her again.

He opened the door to his crummy apartment and carried her in, setting her on the couch as he moved to make tea, “Stay here, I’ll make you something to calm your nerves.”

Bruce glanced up at the lights as they flickered but his eyes immediately moved back to Dani as she leaned closer to Tony. He did not like this game already. This was more potentially dangerous that he had initially realized, not just with Tony on purposefully bad behavior but with Dani having an emotionally wild mutation that could leave Tony vulnerable. He let out a shaky breath as she took his hand. He gave it a comforting squeeze then walked her to the couch to sit.
"I'll assist you with those drinks, Tony," he said as he turned to face the other man.

"Not for anything Princess."
There was a knock at the door. Bruce tense for a mere second before his better sense kicked in and told him to relax. He kissed the top of her head in way of a promise and turned to get the door.
"I'll get it, don't you worry," he murmured. He opened the door, surprised to see Dani on the other side. Still he opened it wider for her, "Danielle, I.. I'm glad to see you," he said, honestly. He knew it wasn't the best time, but at the same time, Dani was a wonderful woman, and Alex would count herself lucky, and better for it to have her around.
"This is Alexandria Stark, my niece, she's going to be staying with me for a time," he introduced, not knowing the women had met, not knowing the tension it would cause.

"Tony, I swear..." He sighed, exasperated by the bachelor's intent. "Aren't you seeing Natasha?" he asked, hoping to side track him vastly. He knew it was still early in their dating, and Natasha never asked for any commitment from Tony, but she was too good of a woman to become sidetracked with. Even Bruce knew that. He respected her greatly. "Besides. She's not interested. And she'd be nothing but trouble for you," though as the words left his mouth he realised he'd presented nothing but a challenge to his friend.

Bruce wanted to yell at Tony, wanted to tell him to knock it off, but he maintained his cool. Angered at the man's behaviour. There was no reason for him to 'defend' Dani. She defended herself quite well. He drank down his glass despite his better judgement and poured another glass before sitting on the other side of Dani. "Tony," he warned, his eyes sharp, his temper tested and patience wearing thin.
If he wasn't careful he'd have to excuse himself and talk down the Hulk who was already growing possessive, clawing at Bruce, begging for a chance to claim her, to defend her as Bruce would not. Bruce respected her too much to treat her like property. Hulk cared little for respect.

"You being too good for me doesn't mean that I don't want you. I love you. I cherish you and have never treated you in a way that implies otherwise. But you could do better. That is something you're going to have to come to terms with. You deserve better than me."

Bruce looked at her as even as could be, and placed a kiss to her cheek. "Maybe we shouldn't have come by for dinner just yet," he conceded. He stood, but stepped away from the two, giving Tony a stern look, "Why don't you ready yourself to leave, I have to use the rest room. I'll only be a moment," he assured her, not waiting for an agreement, knowing it was dire, though he had stared his friend down the entire time.
He got up, and moved to the restroom, staring himself in the mirror.
"Not here, not now," he warned.
"Brucie, he'll take our precious girl. He wants her. Stark wants our sweet girl, and we must keep her. She is ours," Hulk hissed in return.

His smile was kind, loving as he placed his hands on her shoulders.
"Any man, with half a brain would love you. You're perfect. Absolutely, completely, perfect."

"I..."
He wasn't sure he could bringhimself to lie to her, but hecould see the desperation inher eyes.
"Danielle, I'm sure our childwon't be like me. I.. I'm sureour child will be fine."

"We must remain calm, we're almost out of here," Bruce instructed.

"No Brucie, we are done being calm. We will take what is ours."
The change occurred faster, with less resistance that normal. Bruce was of no mind to restrain Hulk, between his agitation and intoxication. He was not himself. He turned and left the bathroom, his eyes coming to rest on Tony and the close proximity to Dani, It was a malicious smile that took his face. "Stark," he barked, "You bastard."

"Another what? No. Alex is my niece and she was in a bit of a tough spot. What do you mean, you've met before?" He turned away from Dani, finding jealous a rather unattractive look on her. Mostly because it was absurd to him that she would be jealous of Alex who was nearly half his age as well as being like a daughter to him.
He sighed, exasperated, and stepped over to Alex putting his hands on her shoulders to calm the girl. "Dani is my girlfriend," he said, glancing back at her only briefly. "I didn't call her, I'm on your side, remember, Princess? I always have been."

He gave Dani a bit of a smile, then a nod to Alex. “Let her have a look, please, for me?” he asked quietly, calmly. He knew he’d have some explaining to do to Dani later, but Alex needed him. She needed his help. She needed his guidance and care. That had to come first and foremost before any care for himself, and even before his care for his own relationship.
Someone had to be there for her, on her side. Especially when such chaos had taken a hold of the young woman and turned her life upside down. She was scared, tormented, fragile, and it pained him to see her that way.
