"it's been a while."

It sure as hell has been. The last time you saw Kim Taehyung was when he was throwing sand around the playground, calling it "summer snow". You and Kim Taehyung were partners in crime, always pulling pranks on your fellow classmates and the teachers. Sitting under a huge tree in your local park, both of you used to dream meaningless dreams, where at that time, it was your everything. You used to wish, hell you still do, if you could go back to those simple times. Where the only worries were if your shoes matched your dress and if your coloring was within the lines. You scan Taehyung's face, not surprised to see his childish features moulded into a handsome face. You look at his deep eyes, which you've noticed, is devoid of emotion. You know Taehyung's doing the same back at you because none of you say a thing about how the both of you changed but at the same time, didn't. You offer an idea of a discreet reunion, knowing if you both went to drink, it would be on the headlines within minutes. He accepts.

Taehyung never expected to run into you at a quiet cafe, a shocking contrast to your loud personality. Then again, he never thought he'd run into someone who knew the old him. The one who found simple joy in a window studded with racing raindrops. The one who cherished the feeling of sticky fingers after eating a popsicle. The one who's been dreaming of vast galaxies and gleaming stars. He's been wanting to reconnect with the inner, innocent him. He can't quite place the feeling, having various thoughts and daydreams of his childhood, of his family's farm and of you. He thought he knew you but after seeing you, he thinks that, maybe just maybe, you might be going through the same thing. He thinks your rendezvous might be a fresh breath of air, a trip back to your sea.

While you ready your balcony for space for the little reunion, you realize the voice from your dreams about the childhood which you long for, was him. You had forgotten it, forgotten how it used to rack up butterflies in your stomach, forgotten how he used to call you back every time whenever you took a trip to your sea. You told him the sea was his as much it was yours. Taehyung used to smile, that infamous boxy grin, and tell you he would only come there if you would be there. You smile at the memory, which was tucked in the corner of your head. Taehyung always felt like a holiday, a break from your overbearing parents. He was, to say simply, your angel.

Taehyung loved you, simply. Simply because he found solace in you. Simply because he was able to find himself again. Right now, while jotting down lyrics in his notepad with you leaning against him, playing with Yeontan, it looks simple, seems simple even. But for him, ever since your little conclave in your balcony, he's found light again. He may face darkness again and god forbid lose himself again. Pretend to not know himself. But he knows he won't. Simply because he's found his light, his galaxies, innocent dreams with you and your sea.

What is the sea, you may wonder. It's a figment of your imagination, something you made up to escape reality. You always loved the sea, wanting to be one of the waves, carefree and rolling around, going anywhere and everywhere. Sometimes, you're engulfed by the sea, drowning almost. You're scared of those times, forgetting how to breathe. You're not afraid anymore, you muse as you play with Yeontan's fur. You close your eyes when you see your awkward face, close your eyes when you're unsure of something. Those times, you can't find your way back to your peaceful sea, instead you find yourself being in a storm, an overwhelming tsunami. Those times may never happen again, you think happily, as you've found your angel again. He came at the right time, pulling you out of your tribulation. He, being the angel that he is, helped you find the way back to your sea. You know, if that happens again, you know the way back by-heart. You, in turn, helped Taehyung find his inner child. You don't like to take credit but Taehyung says the galaxies spread out within your sea's wide skies wouldn't be there if it wasn't for you. You say you gave him clues on his harrowing quest. He says, quite simply, "we've found each other again."
