Jaehyun wasn’t much of a speaker, but more of a physical affection type of person. His silent, mildly moody type resulted in him having a smaller pool of friends, whereas you were the complete opposite. Loud, ditzy and just happy-go-lucky. You two are roommates, and people found it funny on how you two managed to live together, much less have the same classes. 

Jaehyun heard the main door unlock, his ears perking up for the all-too-familiar “JAE I'M BACK!”. He sat upright, only to hear the door close with a soft whoosh. Sensing that something might have gone wrong, he lifted himself off the bed and with three strides he entered the living room, only to see you with your head tucked towards your shoulder. He sped up towards you, his hands on your shoulders, “Hey, are you okay?” 

He suddenly remembered that you were called by the professor to stay back for a while. Professor Park was notorious for punishing latecomers, or people who didn’t do his work. Jaehyun was walking towards class and you were lagging behind him, still trying to get the sleep out of your eyes. “You head in first. I’m going to wash up real quick.” “Are you sure?” You nodded and Jaehyun decided to trek towards class. Saving a seat for you, the bell dinged and Jaehyun indistively glanced at the door. 

Long story short, you arrived after the professor. And the professor really hated tardiness.

“I-I’m supposed to hand in my report tomorrow by 7pm.” A hiccup left you and you sniffled. “Oh no…” was all Jaehyun could muster. Another sob wreck your body and you wiped at your tears, “I haven’t got past the cover page yet. And...and...” Jaehyun lifted up your chin with his finger and he pressed a kiss on your face. You stood still, making eye contact with you. 

“I’m sorry I didn’t know. I am...uh.” You buried your face into his chest. 

“Just hold me please?” 

“A-Anytime.”

(Truth was your face was flaming hot and you, without thinking, hid your face in his chest. But wow, why is his heart beating so fast?)

『 t a e y o n g 』 

“you’re finally home!” 

taeyong couldn’t help but grin at the sleepy, lopsided beam you were shooting at him. lounging at the sofa, the comforter was draped over you as you leaned on the sofa’s arm, gesturing for him to come over. 

he swiftly crossed the living room in two strides and pecked you on the lips. “did you wait long?” “i dozed off for a while there but then i heard your keys from miles away.” 

he bent down to nuzzle your nose and you reciprocated his actions. you let out a yawn and taeyong took this as a sign to hold your hand, leading you to the bedroom, “up we go. time to sleep with my most favourite person in the universe.” 

『 d o y o u n g 』 

doyoung jolted wide awake when he felt someone tugging on his sleeve. “doyoung...could i sleep beside you tonight?” doyoung’s bed wasn’t the biggest but he didn’t have the heart to say no. 

hence, he lifted his covers and you took the opportunity to snuggle right next to him. “can’t sleep?” his voice was thick and he wondered how long have you been awake for already. 

“mark always sleeps with the lights off. i don’t like it.” doyoung was the only one in the dorms who had a small, glowing lamp at the foot of his bed. it wasn’t that he didn’t like the dark: he preferred if he could see where he was going if he needed to get out of bed at night. 

he also wondered how long you’ve been affected by that, but decided that was a conversation due breakfast. “close your eyes. try and get some shut-eye. i’ll be here with you.”

jaehyun and you were having a simple picnic and the weather was perfect: it wasn’t too sunny and there was a gentle breeze. you were lying with your head in his lap as he leaned against the tree, your hands intertwined in his. brushing the wisps of hair covering your face, your contagious laughter lit up something inside of him, his smile erupting seconds after yours. 

“i love you very much.” you propped your hands up to plant a kiss on his face. “let’s take a nap together, shall we?” jaehyun patted the empty space and the two of you spent the late afternoon in comfortable silence.
