I have a request, Neji Hyuga and the reader go on a mission together and the reader wears a blindfold just like Gojo but then when she fights her enemy's she takes the blindfold off and she tells him that her eyes would get tired if she doesn't cover them up and all that. Also Neji always trys to think that he doesn't like her and that he's just absorbing her strength (boy lying to himself🥱)

you were weird.

You were weird in the eyes of Neji Hyuga.

Not even he being a genius could understand you.

Why were you wearing a blindfold? Were you blind? It was the first thing he wondered when he saw you.

He still remembers when he saw you for the first time, since you were the first thing that caught his eye next to the Uchiha in the chunin exams. But unlike the arrogant Uchiha boy, you were different and for some reason he couldn't get close to you.

'Ridiculous' he thought at the thought of being nervous in front of you, perhaps it was the uncertainty of knowing who you were and what you could do. Neji also didn't know why he cared for you when they had to enter the forest of death, he would later realize that even though he tried to stay away from people and tried to justify all his bad behavior by 'fate', he by default was still a child and he was worried about someone, Someone who might be disabled.

You had highly developed senses, you defeated your opponent quickly and effectively. After a few months you had become a chunnin together with that ponytailed boy after passing the third test.

Neji didn't see you again until a few years later.

It had been a few weeks since he had become a Jonin, neji was going to a training camp to further improve his combat skills, when he got to the field that's when he saw you, you hadn't changed much you were still wearing that bandage for the Eyes, you weren't throwing kunais or doing katas, you were leaning against a tree… you were meditating or at least that's what he thought, since you had that blindfold on your eyes. Before he got up the courage and had a chance to ask you what you were doing you rushed ahead.

"You know, it's rude to stare at people" your voice was soft and calm, perhaps because it wasn't ruined by the exhaustion of rigorous training.

Neji snorted "I wasn't looking at you" was what he was able to reply embarrassed for being caught while he started training.

After that meeting, you guys met again and again in that same training field, you would just hang out, you would stay in that same log while he trained, you would casually ask a few questions from time to time. Sometimes Neji would offer you to join his training, but you would always refuse, arguing that you had already trained earlier in the day.

Neji wasn't even bothered by your presence, something felt good when you were around him, as if it was meant to be from the beginning, but he would deny himself at the thought of being in love with you. That's how you two continued until it became so common to spend your time together that you started going out to other places. Sometimes you would go out to eat, other times just to walk and enjoy the sunset together.

'Stubborn' was what he thought, but instead of giving his opinion he trusted you, it turns out that you were good at guiding yourself, even if you couldn't see anything, Neji began to respect you more after that day.

Today In the present Tsunade-sama had put you on a mission together, the mission was easy, you just had to deliver some important papers to the Daimyo of another village, but things stopped being so easy when you were ambushed by enemy ninjas.

The fight had been hard, since some of them had forbidden Jutsus and from what he could see with his Byakugan you were forced to take off your blindfold. You were faster and more agile than you were before, since now you could see where you were going, but if you could see why cover your eyes?

It was the second thing he asked you after first asking if you were okay and then reaching a safe place to rest after defeating the enemy ninjas.

“My eyes are sensitive, I covered them because they get tired quickly if I don't keep them covered”
