Nerotypical People Confuse Me - Tumblr Posts

Can any other autistic/ neurodivergent people back me up here?

So I'm spending the holidays with my family and they keep trying to take care of me even though I'm an adult who can take care of myself. Like today, someone asked me if I wanted food and I said 'no' because I wasn't hungry and I was busy reading. They proceeded to put food in front of me and I ignored it because I was busy and didn't want it. Now everyone's mad at me for being ungrateful.

I really wasn't trying to be ungrateful, but I don't understand what I was supposed to do in that situation.
