When I read TSATS for the second time I really got into the book.
Like, when Nico was worried about Will being weak, I was literally like "fuck! I have to do something! What can i do?" Then I just remembered that I am only reading the book and am not inside it, and that I have already read the book before and I know everything
But I read it in Italy, so it probably had an effect (I don't know how!)
My face probably looks really funny when I find out things about Niko that are true for me
I'm literally the female version of Nico DiAngelo
I have black hair, brown eyes, pale skin. I fight with a sword, I've been obsessed with Greek mythology and pirates for as long as I can remember, I'm usually very sad and push people away from me. I wear a lot of black. I have a silver skull ring that I wear everywhere, and my parents will buy me a leather bomber jacket. I'm not from the 1930s, but sometimes I speak as if I came from another era. I have a younger sister. I was born in January. English is my second language.
Oh, one more thing! Maybe Will Solas is my tape
I'm not kidding, I could go on forever
I usually talk like Nico di Angelo, but sometimes I just say things like "that's so beautiful" or "that's so clever" (I say this about paintings, buildings and other inanimate objects. That's how I know I'm daughter of Athena ).
But then in the sun and the star, I noticed that I didn't speak like Nico. Nico spoke like me. Like, Hades, what in the name of Tartarus?! Nobody (not even Odysseus) will understand what it did to me at that moment.
Like, now I'm more Nico Di Angelo than I've ever been, because I talk like him, he talks like me, and we have the same thoughts and opinions
Nico shook his head, but Will was nodding. "Alexander the Great wrote about you!" he said excitedly
And then I asked myself, why in the name of Hades does he know that?
"Because Will is a nerd" I answered "and I'm sure he read the song of Achilles"
"You are really smart" I said to myself, and then I answered "thank you"

When His Majesty said "I will never forget you, Will Solace" most readers probably thought it was very cute and beautiful or something.
I thought so too, and I still think so, but in the Riordanverse forgetting has another meaning.
The Triumvirate stayed alive all these years because people remembered them.
If one of the gods forgets, he will disappear.
A memory is like an addition to life, and that's why I think it's really sweet, even more than I thought before.

if it was THAT simple, maybe he should use this to prevent Nico from leaving the camp.
He felt sick from the moment Nico said he wouldn't stay.
He felt like somebody kicked him, and he was pretty sure he sounded like that when he asked why.
Nico didn't reply, and that one in a million reasons (and the only one Will knows about) Will thought about it all the time.
