i think in era 3 of mistborn we'll see nicrosil be used mostly as a way to support others, empowering pewter users or coinshots. however, i also really want to see it used on ENEMIES.

imagine your enemy is burning tin. BAM you burn nicrosil and suddenly they're blind and they have a really bad headache for three days. an enemy coinshot tries to jump away? BAM nicrosil. they go flying. A lurcher? BAM nicrosil. have fun faceplanting into the pavement
