This is a post to intro to my reworks and or redesigns of ninjago characters. (And fan writing in the future eventually)
☆What is retooling/reworking?
-Its when I rewrite or adjust the character's lore and or personality, I don't change thier core concepts.
Example: I didn't change the core concept of nya being the water elemental but I reworked her to be more independent from jay.
☆What is redesigning?
-I just change how the characters look, they are still the same character just look different.
*Example: If I give kai white hair but he's still the same person
☆what if you change the core concept?
-That would be a rewrite and I don't usually do that for the usual cannon but might for au purposes.
Example: if I made dearth an actual elemental
☆When I say both rework and redesign I mean that: I adjust -the character's writing and redesign them to show how different they are

I was serious about that nya metal au-
This is an au where nya's element is metal instead of water. I always wanted her to be a metal element since I was a little dough boy, her weapon potential is endless.
I don't know what will happen to karlof in this au, he could either be the water elemental or be a normal non-elmental guy and we get like a different elemental to replace him I'm not sure yet, this au was made at 3am after 3 lessons of college cut me some slack lol.
-Rough story:
I did think of how the reveal will go,
I thought (and got obsessed with the idea, and is why her designis s4 inspired) that nya's element will start showing around the finally of s3, by s4 when the ninja got thier invitations to chen's Island she was eves dropping and decied to follow them, she'd reveale her self later and will join the ninjas to find zane as her first appearance as the metal ninja.
For thier powers, giving her the same presentation as karlof (steel skin ish) would be out of place for the ninja's, so i gave her ferrokinesis and the ability to mold her metal into any weapon she desires with the drawback that is stressful on her body.
Design
-Nya's gi here is like the ninja's s4 gi but more personalised for her with the character of metal, i pulled her hair into a ponytail honestly just because it's cute and to distinguish her from vanilla nya.
For the future
-I will explore these ideas more soon and hopefully I'll eventually figure out about the consequences of nya being the metal element (ex. s5 and s15 relay on nya being a water elemental) and will make a post about it. But for now I think this sets the basics for this au.

More metal nya! Post s7 edition
Here is more of metal nya au sketches, this time some ideas of how shell look like post og era nya.
I mainly wanted to draw her outfit but I did try to come up with thier updated emblem because I love these buggers. I went with a bull because I liked the idea of her using her raw strength to run at people with her weapons lol, its also kinda of a reference for nya's hot headed tendency.
I'd like to think the main weapon they make is the blade bunggers she had as samurai x because they are really unique and so nya iconic.
Her hair is more roughed up version of her pre s7 hair but with long....hair dohickys? (She dose have more here). I gave her the hair clips because I thought it would make her hair look more interesting as well as to look like bull horns.
She has a tiny pouch on her arm so she can use them to mold her weapons to attack and take off some strain of off her.

Artstyle experimenting thing ft more nya because I can
If you just see some of my work you can see that my art style is so inconsistent and keeps changing, it's part artblock fuelled by imposter syndrome and wanting to find an effective and efficient artstlye to be able to draw without overthinking.
Here is a lineless style more similar to my first post then my pinned post, I do like the way this turned out but it's not efficient as a sketch style so I'll reserve it for big boy illustrations.
I drew a causal metal nya because why not? I went with this blue as a second color because well...I just liked it, i didn't think much about details while drawing this but I do think she looks cute which was the point.

So a morro he definitely took the biggest hit because of my sickness so I'll have to elaborate with drawings as time goes on.
The concept of reworking morro is a bit harder than I hoped, because my reworks do effect how the story is written and all my ideas are too ambitious for the fact I'm in midterms. So I reworked morro's fate, if you want a more of "rework so deep that it rewrites s5" then I'll do it in summer break, so yeah stay toon.
(Also yes this is a lmk inspired style, I shouldn't draw sick omg lol)
-how is he back?
Tbh I am not sure tho I know i want him to be brought around dotd but the how is hard to pin point, I like to think of an idea close to "something went wrong as morro was retuning " which caused him to for a lack of a better term to glitch and turn human. He's not fully human ticnicly, morro is in a real reborn human body yes but his glitch caused him to keep some of the goust-nes. The goust remnant show in his goust eye, to show that the new human body and his undead soul are at unity.
-How is he? Where will he go?
He obviously would be confused and scared, I don't believe he would be in the monastery for a long while. I feel he would be in what I call "his tree house" where he trys to clear his mind. He's not isolated just needs time to prosses his emotions. I don't think more will be an official ninja member but more of an ally like dareth.
I like to imagine the gang to call morro because he has mad connections and dirt on people, and morro uses this to be the lovely smug grimlin that he is.
-How does the goust eye works?
Morro can swap between the human form and the goust form, the goust form has the ablity of gousts. Invisibleity, phasing and possesing. He isn't weak to water though, kinda. If morro gets hit with water in his goust form he'll be forced into his human for and can't go goust for about 12 hours.
Morro can go goust as he pleases but it dose tire him out.
-Dose he still have wind?
Yes he still does, still the same
- Design:
I do wana adjust it but let's talk about my ideas. I gave morro a gi that doesn't really match the ninjas or the sensei-s but still feel similar in a way, again like dearth. I plopped up mo's emblem on his gi and I tried to make it look more goat-dragon to separate him from ninjago Western dragon aesthetic but to make his emblem feel more personal. (I love the emblems can you tell?)
This is au category technicaly but I think it's a really fun idea to write, morro is such a great character i miss him and I'll never forget his biggest contribution to the fandom

My fellow dareth enjoyers dareth won the water elemental master poll for my metal nya au. Now unlike my other post I don't have a set in stone lore or lore ideas, doesn't help I got sick woohoo. So I'll talk about the design.
Fun fact I originally started sketching this in brown so this gi started as a brown one, it looked neat so I saved it in case I wanted to make an actual brown ninja dareth in the future (if you would like to see that lmk). While designing this I decided to use the same gi design principle of nya and metal nya's gi-s but I changed the black parts to brown to make it feel more dareth-y, yes this does kinda make him the oddball but that kinda also intentional.
I gave dareth's gi pants that cowboy thing that dareth has in his og design.
I gave him this style of glove which I normally wouldn't do because they're the mark of....a special person (wink) for now for lore reasons dareth is allowed to have them by me.
I chose this blue because its the complamtary color of his brown, but also because its not close to my nya or jay design. I gave him heels because he ~💅, I put the pattern all over his gi unlike nya's.
I feel like dareth is alright with using his power but absolutely exhales when put in a stressful situation or when definding someone (which is cannon), he dumb, he will jump to action without thinking. I like to think his room is so aesthetic with a cowboy hat as a decoration. No reason. Just cowboy.

@legogeek33 I tried the more lego artstyle challenge using the usual hybrid style I would use for it. It's not perfect but it was fun trying to!

Lemme tell you about about the movie work I am doing
So I mentioned before that I am currently working on different ninjago projects, some are public like my listed aus and some are private (one is personal). One of the projects I have is a movie rewrite with multiple sequels.
This project did take the back burner because of 2 things, one is the fact that I don't have time and the second is the fault of my personal project. The personal project is going season by season and l'm currently at S2-3, which means all the projects that are later on has to wait.
recently I did think about just working on the movie rework on and off, because, While yes, the movie is between S7 and S8 it is it's own cannon. I should be able to least finish the art for it.
I feel like the plot I have in mind deserves it's own post so I won't go to too much detail on the lore. I just want you to know I'm keeping the core idea of the movie but You know not writen like a teen drama Lol.
None of the designs are final but if you're interested in my ninjas designs let me Know, I have sketches I can clean up. I cleaned up my Lloyd and Koko designs for this post and I highlighted some of the differencess between my usual Lloyd and M! Lloyd.
I wanted them to look diffrent so they won't be mistaken with eachother, I will do the same for the other character's designs.
note about M! Lloyd's age, he is 16 going on 17, Nya is 16, kai and jay are 17 and cole and zane are 18. all are in the same class except the 18 year olds. I like to Imagine they're all in the same club or something like that.

so what about M!Garmadon? or how he and Koko met? or Koko's past?? Or Jay's parents? does he know he's adopted?? IS he still adopted??

So for koko and garm I don't have thier past ironed out but I do thier relationship. In my rewrite they're more "yeah marrying was a mistake but we're still on good terms". Thier divorce is for that reason as well as garmadon feeling like he's too dangerous and wanting to isolate himself away. They still talk to each other and koko helps garmadon not be stupid, which is hard, someone give her coffee.
I don't have much on thier past as I said but I like to think that like the movie koko was into for a lack of a better term chaotic things, perhaps she's into training in this rewrite and she was the only one to give garmadon a challenge. Don't think she's a push over underneath her short hight is a tactical mastermind. She uses her wits over inplace of physical strength.

He's dumb and is usually like the movie's goofy villain, but i gave him alot more self awareness. He knows something is wrong with him but the truma of being shuned makes him refuse to seek help, he hides his fears by playing dumb and pretending to be oblivious.
I think playing with the theme of garmadon feeling trapped is interesting, I focused all the plot of the first movie on him actually bonding with lloyd on a deeper level. Ya boy is going all sad hours on this bitch. Don't worry garmadon I will give you the spaghetti I promised.
《Jay》
For jay, actually his lore is much similar to my new lore for show jay but more toned down? In a way? Mmm, debatable. I will probably reveal this on later but yes he's still adopted. Show jay doesn't get closure but I did give some level of closure to movie jay. I haven't decided how similar they're stories are but I sure will give both some good old truma. Also at the time being M! Jay's family structure is still the same, him and the walkers just live closer to the city now.
I don't know when I'll iron my notes fully, probably when my writer's block stops being shity

so are you gonna add any other characters that weren't actually in the movie? Like Morro or Harumi?
Yes characters not originally in the movie will be making an appearance, though it's only exclusive to characters from s1-s7. So sadly no characters from s8 onwards, I mainly did this because the movie was released between s7 and s8 and the movie is kind of a soft reboot so I thought it would be fitting.
I won't spoil who I'm bringing or what I'm adapting in but I can tell you that most lovable dorks from s1-7 are coming back. I'm not sure about how many sequels I'll make but at the time being there is the og movie rewrite and 2 sequels (so equal to 3 season in total)
Here is a character i can confirm I'll be add which is my boy dareth, at the time of writing this his lore is pretty similar but I don't know if I'll change it in the future. I can tell you he's still as dorky as ever.

Omg i had to scrap the drawing I was going to do but it's ok I'll draw them after my due dates are over, for now goofy.
Yes the darkleys boys will make a cameo in the rewrite but so far in writing they're rolls are incredibly minor. This could change depending on how long each movie/season/ch it will take, I want to give the ninja some attention in the RW-movie unlike who the official movie forgot about them.
If I see a spot I can add them i would give them an arc in the writing but if not I could make it an ova or a bouns ch of sorts.

I know I dissappear all of a sudden after the pix poll so I want to make a quick post about
I am working on and off on projects and art but my progress slowed because as I joked in the past 2 post, my wrists hurt
A week ago my wrist pain have increased for some reason and it keeps coming and going and I don't know why, I took a check up and I was given some stuff for it but i still don't know why I'm having this issue
I will be checking on this more to know what's the issue
I know this sounds serious but it's not, it's a simple pain and the big issue just comes from me being irritable
I'll post the new pix design and the S3 rewrite when I feel a bit better, for now I'm trying to not irritate my wrists

Design D was the most popular but after reading comments and consulting my friends I decided to mesh the elements of designs A and D that people liked. It took some attempts to find a nice middle ground also time to actually draw it (see my last post why)
I feel happy with design but if you have any criticism or suggestions I'm all bunny ears
