The reason I have a strong dislike for men is thanks to my father.

For everything he does to my mother. Controlling her, gaslighting her, insulting and dominating and keeping her from a life worth living. Breaking her down to only a shell of the woman she used to be.

For the way he raises my brother. To look down on women, to be a "man". To think that just because he has a penis he has more worth and more say and more power over anyone else.

For instilling racism and homophobia and sexism and misogyny and white male christian supremacy into my brother's head because he failed with doing it to me.

My father has made me afraid of men because the gods only knows how many other fathers have done the same. And to think that there is a chance that I might just end up with one of their sons frighten me worse than any other nightmare.
