Pairing: George Harrison x F! Reader

Fic Summary: Reader and George meet as kids soon after she moves to Liverpool with her parents. Told throughout pieces of their childhood together, we see their friendship grow and the consequences of waiting too long.

Chapter Summary: After a not-so-nice day at school, Reader has a friendly encounter. She and George have a small heart-to-heart, and she starts to reconsider her feelings.

One of many downsides to secondary school - as you had only realized in your third year in secondary school - was that for some reason, at the end of each term, they felt the need to have some kind of themed dance. You’d never gone to any of them, but every time they announced one, you couldn’t help but groan.

If it wasn’t bad enough that they held them as often as possible, all of your friends were always so excited for them. They loved getting dressed up and dancing the night away, and honestly you really couldn’t blame them, it did sound fun, but you didn’t think it was for you. It might be a different story if they played music you’d come to love over the past year, but judging from what your friends told you, they never played any of that music. You supposed you had George to thank though, for changing your taste in music.

It also didn’t help that even if you wanted to go, all of your friends went with dates, and you’d hate to show up alone and be a third-wheel to everyone else when you hadn’t asked anyone nor had anyone asked you. 

That was a fact that never bothered you, but some of the students in your class seemed to enjoy.
