‘2 angles’ is the working title for my story [manga/webtoon/comic] with the main characters of Hope and Rit. The name originally was just a lulz joke for me only but it kinda stuck and I’m gonna use it for tagging here at least haha.

This story takes place in a modern setting on earth. In this world there are creatures who identify as angels or are identified as demons as according to human folklore/religion, but they came about after the tales existed. (Meaning: the folklore was not based on these creatures, but upon finding these stories they took on the names and characteristics of these described ‘angels’ and ‘demons’) the general age of these angels is about 1,000 years on earth.

Hope is a human angel with silver/grey wings and a barbed halo. Within the Angel hierarchy the wing color is significant to your role. No other angel seems to have wings like Hope’s. No one even knows who hope is or how she got here. She is found by Rit, who is a higher ranking angel performing duties on earth, within the dimension that humans can perceive. Rit’s wings are black.

Rit enjoys human vices. Rit is very skilled at their job, so gets away with excessive drinking and smoking. They constantly are smoking cigarettes, even though it causes angel’s skin to become incredibly weak. Rit is often covered in bruises and bandages because of this. It is hard to do true lasting damage to an angel, but recovery times can be very long. Bruises may take weeks or even months to heal once they form.

Rit begrudgingly takes hope under her wing (lol) mostly driven by trying to find out why hope has silver wings. Hope being of human origin is not something that Rit would know immediately. Hope does not realize angels are not human either. It’s a quest to learn about how to become an angel for hope, and a quest for *why* hope is an angel for rit. The answers for these questions may disrupt the entire angel system. :3c

Eudora is one of my current most drawn OCs. Her origin story may end up as a one-shot comic/graphic novel.

Eudora currently is a fashion designer/blogger who befriends young fashionistas Blanche and Miriam who she hires for a zine production and fashion shoots. Eudora never reveals her age, just that she “just celebrated her 29th birthday” no matter when you ask her. She is quirky and mostly carefree. She is a quiet introvert. Enjoys snack/convenience food. Sodas, bottles juices, yogurts, chips, ramen cups, etc. only cooks simple meals for self, like rice cooker and fried egg. Her blog has enough followers that she is able to earn some sponsorships and ad revenue. Despite this, still occasionally takes odd jobs and quiet part time gigs to keep afloat.

When the blog was starting out eudora blogged in a way that the reader would imagine a certain person was the writer. Eudora at the time looked very plain. Did not dye hair, did not use coloured contacts, etc. as the blog grew, eudora suspected that if anyone were to see her irl they would be disappointed that she looked so plain so she started to make her own clothes, mostly altering to her tastes. Then she started cutting her hair. Then the contacts, then glitter, then hair dye…. Suddenly when she looked in the mirror she saw herself. She became confident enough to start wearing things in public and getting more and more social. She finds that too much social activity is very hard for her, she goes through scenarios of disappointed fan meet ups, of becoming overwhelmed and questioning why would she want to stick out ever? Started to ‘regress’ when finding Blanche/Miriam who tell Eudora how much her blog helped them find themselves and they encourage Eudora to do what feels best for her and they want to be there to support it.

She eventually finds a happy medium of meet ups and shows while living alone, working with Blanche and Miriam on creating blogs, videos, and a clothing line for weirdos.

Eudora typically describes her fashion as fairy kei. Miriam would be close to uchuu-kei (special occasions) and pastel space-goth (daily wear). Blanche is ishoku-hada and kawaii monster vibes.

I’ve had a ‘solar punk’ inspired story swirling about my head for like 5-8 years but I have not drawn a single thing for it. It exists solely in thoughts right now. I want to work on it because I think the ideas are really cool and I want to explore it but also so it may force me to become decent at objects and backgrounds.

It involves a space traveler happening upon a planet with a ‘utopian’ type of society that is supported by biological sciences, technology, and systems. This would be technology they’ve never seen so they begin to journal and illustrate the tech and learn about how the flora and fauna are integrated into their society.

Us, as the reader of this story, may be reading this journal directly. But I am debating doing it comic pages with story, followed by inserts of the journal illustrations. Maybe *of* the environment they are in.

I like the idea of a no-conflict type of story telling that the direct journal could provide, just building environments. But I think a story based approach with a conflict and resolution would give me more material to work with, even more to explore.

At any rate, this would all require me to complete any kind of story…!!!!! ….. but I AM starting to compile more and more ideas, I just need to string them all together.

Magic Huskies

Here’s another OC story that has been floating about my brain for a few years. This story centers around a clan of husky dogs that practice magic. They focus on potions and meditative telekinetic powers that can form glowing smoke around them as a show of their strength in magic. The members of the clan live on the outskirts of town, utilizing a lot of nature based ingredients and rituals. Within the storytelling of the tribe there is said to be a powerful child born, with stronger magic than any leader prior. This is the chosen child, the greatest leader the tribe will ever have, ushering in a new era of magic.

The story follows the children of the current leader. Above, left to right: Noël, Audra, Naïf. Audra is the eldest child and shows exemplary skill in the magics of this clan. Not many can conjure magic that is visible in broad daylight, but she can! She may very well be the most talented magic husky the tribe has ever seen! How unfortunate that her younger brothers are not too good with magic. Naïf is too much of a brooding teenager to bother studying and improving his magic. Everyone in the clan is born with a star mark…And poor Noël was born with a dark star mark of ‘no magic’. The entire tribe elevates and celebrates Audra as nearly a saint, definitely the powerful one from the stories. She makes the purest potions, and has been able to craft dozens of her own new spells, teaching the entire clan new magic techniques. She is constantly studying preparing herself for her journey as the chosen child.

The approach to the story is…. What if the “hero from prophecy” gets ignored in the story? What if the story follows everyone ELSE but the hero? How would that unfold?

Turns out Noël has magic. A lot of it.

Turns out he is the true chosen child.

But… Noël is not the main character. Audra is the main character! Naïf is…. a sidekick.

I designed naïf first, and normally that makes them the main character in my mind, but I drew Audra so much more after I designed her. Which made me ask the question “what if the main character wasn’t the actual main character?” and inspired creating a story about that. Which meant I designed the main character last, completely backwards from how I usually would do things.

I have a general story planned out, but I would like to do a lot of research so I can get into the minutiae of how the magic could work in this world, as it’s supposed to be set modern day, US au with furries. I often draw Naïf with a Tool hoodie. He’s that guy.

Mori and Luciá? 👀👀👀👀👀 tell me about them omg

A lot of my characters were originally designed specifically so I had an excuse to draw a certain aesthetic, fashion, or style. I started following a lot of j-fashion and realized that none of my characters fit the Lolita fashion I wanted to draw/design. I made sweet Lolita Mori first, and made Lucía as a gothic counterpart shortly after. They are only connected by aesthetic choices. They don’t “know” each other. (They don’t have stories with each other) But one year at an anime convention i commissioned a few artists to draw them together :3 they only get together for the ART.

Mori is named after Mori Chack. And I just like the name Lucía lol. (I actually sort of regret naming her Mori because shortly after a new fashion trend surfaced called Mori/Mori kei/Mori girl and the aesthetic is not at ALL like sweet Lolita. Oh well lol)

Lucía eventually developed a story. Her lore is that she is a cannibal. So she is usually seen being extremely cute, dressed in full gothic Lolita, but also covered in blood and guts.

I often like to name my playable characters in games after my OCs. I started a new save on Stardew Valley and had Lucía as my farmer! So her new development is that she is trying to reform her cannibalistic ways by doing hard farm work to keep busy. She moves to a small town that tempts her desires, knowing no one would figure out her deep secret…… if she could just have a taste, she could totally get away with it.

These 2 are part of the group of characters I have inspired by j-fashion and alt fashion trends. Eudora, Blanche, Miriam, and to a small extent Kayla (and everyone in the Technicolor Nightmare story) are part of this group. Their stories don’t interconnect (if they even have one), but they have the same source inspiration.

Whenever I get actual posts with my OCs I will go back and link them in the asks :3
