Another random excerpt from my Twins AU (that I have not written):

(2) [Favorite mortal of mine...]

Callie couldn’t breathe, every time she inhaled through either her nose or mouth, the sickening scent and taste of copper would overwhelm her. Tears stung her bleeding eyes, as she coughed up more and more red.

The black uniform that she had worn to match with her dongsaeng was soaked with her blood. Unsalvageable.

Through her blurred vision, she could barely makeout the battlefield. It was all ash and rubble anyway, so it's not like there was much to see.

The pale skin of her hands was webbed with inky blackness, consuming more and more of her porcelain flesh as butterflies emerged from her body, glittering like stained glass and rushing towards allies to provide aid.

Callie ignored the pain, the excruciating sensation of her insides tearing themselves apart. She could handle it, just a little bit more-!

"-ate broke! NOONA!" She could hear someone yelling, it sounded like Roksoo but her hearing was fading, the blood leaking from her ears was already making everything a bit muffled.

Spots appeared in the corners of her eyes, a scorching heat boiled beneath her skin as she closed her eyes and tipped forward, her trembling legs no longer able to hold her up.

…

She didn’t hit the ground.

Cool, large hands wrapped around her own, familiar dark-skinned fingers intertwined with hers as she was pulled back against a man’s chest.

“Didn’t I tell you to not come to me so soon?” The God of Death, nay, Azrael said to her, his voice soft.

Her sight, no longer obscured by blood, dust or ash, adjusted to the scenery of the Void.

She tilted her head up, looking up at him.

Azrael’s expression was inscrutable, black eyes shiny and silver in his waterline.

“…I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, Azrael.” Callie whispered hoarsely, her throat felt like sandpaper and her tone was breathless, almost pleading.

“No, you’re not.” He sighed and leaned down, pressing his forehead to hers, strands of moon-white hair tickled her cheeks but she didn’t mind.

I was itching to post something but this was stressing me out, so have a cut-off scene. I might update this later but it's unlikely.

Modern AU RokCale, they’re in college or whatever. Btw, this is fem! Cale for the sole reason that I’m on a Callie roll and I want to write about her but this can be applied without the genderbending.

ANYWAY! They meet on a rainy day, Callie is curled up in a ball under the hood of some building and Roksoo sees her when he walks out. He doesn’t have an umbrella and he doesn’t feel like getting wet.

Callie has one but she’s just sitting there and not moving. Roksoo, despite his reservations, approached and asked. Callie was more mellow today, the rain having put out her fire before it had the chance to erupt, so she answered with:

“I don’t feel like going home right now.”

So, Roksoo decides to sit with her because he’s got nothing better to do and he’d feel bad to just ask for her umbrella.

They sit like that for a bit, in silence while staring at the rain-drenched surroundings.

After a while, Callie stands up and dusts off her shorts, picking up her umbrella before throwing a look at the still-seated Roksoo.

"Well? Aren't you gonna come? I don't have all day."

Roksoo is surprised but quickly stands up to follow her. They huddle under her umbrella, with Roksoo having to hunch over a bit. The two end up fumbling around a bit til Callie gets fed and just locks her elbow with his so that they can get going.

They end up going to a nearby convenience store where Callie bought snacks and drinks for both of them. Carbonated strawberry milk for herself and normal chocolate milk for Roksoo, because I think he would.

Somehow, they end up at the park, sitting on hill while eating their snack. Callie pops open her can, carefully making sure that the middle dot remained intact before ripping off the tab and tucking it into her pocket.

They talk about stuff and get to know each other better, Callie allows her walls to recede slightly while Roksoo loosens up a bit. She tells him that she likes making jewellery from little trinkets and knick-knacks like soda tabs and such. Roksoo confesses that he loves reading shitty webnovels and riduculous romance dramas.

The sun dips below the horizon, the clock strikes eight and Roksoo walks Callie home.

They’re at her front door and before she walks in, she takes out the soda tab from before and gives it to Roksoo, sliding it into his palm and closing his fist over it.

She smiles softly and bids him goodbye before going inside and closing the door. Only to immediately slide down and curl up into a ball, her face as red as her hair and her heart jackrabbiting in her chest.

Roksoo stands there for a second, his ears burning red as gently holds the tab before stiffly walking away, a smile playing on his lips.

They have one thought:

“Shit, I forgot to give him/her my number.”

Unbeknownst to them, both Ron and Hans saw the whole thing.

And thus, Roan is introduced to FIREARMS!

Modern Cale being TBOAH Cale’s sort-of kinda therapist is so funny.

Also, Bud is so right. I sometimes can’t help but to wonder if Cale was really such an outstanding actor or if other people noticed and just didn’t do anything.

The former is probably the truth but the second is really tragic.

The idea that all OG! Cale needed was a single responsible adult whom he respected to sit him down and set him straight to prevent his self-destruction is so tragically frustratingly funny to me.

Like, it could have been Deruth, Violan or even Ron and he would have stopped.

I imagine that in a modern AU, when Cale's behavior first started, Deruth made the decision to go to therapy with his whole family to sort out their issues. Because Deruth loves his son and I do think that if therapy was a thing in Roan, then he would have definitely taken Cale.

Anyway, Therapist tells Deruth to get his shit together and sit with his son to have a heartfelt conversation because his eldest is more than the remnants of his late wife. They do that and badabing bada boom, issues are sorted and Cale isn't ruining his life and making himself miserable, and the family is close.

OG! TBOAH meet this Modern AU Henituse family and they are SHOCKED at how different the two Cales are, including Cale himself.

Then the reason is revealed and oooh boy, are there a lot of revelations.

"WAIT IT WAS ALL AN ACT?"

"All I had to do was tell him to stop????"

Funny shit.

Modern AU Callie crying in a corner in her room until her alarm rings and she wipes her tears to go get ready for the day.

It's always ten minutes before Ron comes to her room.

One time though, she forgot to charge her phone, didn't keep track of time and didn't notice Ron's knocking because the day hadn't even started and it was already so bad.

She's still silently sobbing, trembling and curled up in the space between the wall and her dresser.

That's how Ron finds her.

I love the dark side of this idea, more often that not, GoD is either not present or is more silly than anything is fics, so I do like this.

Whispers of a Deal

For the past week my mind has been mainly thinking about OG Cales deal with GoD.

As much as i love the idea of them being fun business partners or generally anyting light hearted and fun I really love the more dark tones of possible coercion and generally a more angsty view of the deal. (mainly due a one shot i read)

Anyway, this did give an outlet for me to practise using colours again and actually complete pieces haha.

A story idea around Heniroksoo

Heniroksoo who accidently found the 'gate' where the monsters came from

Let's pretend that no one know where the mosters came from because no one ever find a 'gate' and think that they just exist one day

Those who found one are 'missing' the moment they step in

This is the start of his journey on different worlds destroying the 'heart' of the gates

Every monster came from different worlds, worlds similar to his but already in ruin or destroyed by the monsters that also came out of nowhere

Everytime he destroyed the 'heart' he will be teleported to earth in 5 seconds count

And as he destroyed them, it lead to the beginning or the starting line where the monsters came from

Along his journey, he met a lot of new people from different worlds or the 'remains' of them who is 'lucky' like him, from his world and from another, to find the gate

I figured that Roxana's visuals fit the image of Callie in my head, so I edited her with red hair and reddish brown eyes lol

I did another recolor, not the most fond of it but oh well

An Elf couple leaves their child with a Human teenager to babysit while they go on a date. When they return the Human is middle aged and the Elf child now sees the Human as their parent.

I love KRS!Cale, I do but OG!Cale is my fave definitely and I need more content of him before I perish.

So fucking tired and dissapointed of finding that most (almost all) new fanfics with his tag is about lcf!Cale, everyone love him hashtag.

I want one with his centric :(

True, most OG Cale fics are copy and paste of the same thing.

It's a bit tiring to see the same sets of characterizations used over and over again. He's either traumatized, quick to anger and swearing up a storm or he's traumatized and a sweetheart.

Very rarely do you see other characterizations. One characterization for OG Cale I really enjoy is from Aster's fic 'Can't an Old Man Die in Peace?', I really like his character in there.

I'd also like more well done genderbends of OG Cale, since I'm a sucker for Callie. Most of the fem! OG Cale fics are either smut or too heavily AU for my tastes. There is one good transfem fic that I liked, it was also a twin AU. Very fun and cute.

And a specific one is Otome AUs, specifically more that are like 'End my Suffering Dear Duke!' because I loved that and I miss it fr.

As much as I love romance, I would really like more fics of OG Cale with his family. Most of his stories are found family and you rarely get to see the Henituse often because they're not that significant in the grand scheme of things. I want more stories of the angst and love in this dysfunctional family and I would also like to see more fics about the complicated dynamic that OG Cale has with Ron.

Very few stories have actually gone into depth exploring the nuances of Cale and Ron's relationship. Because Ron did care for OG Cale, he has fondness for him that was present in the line: "But that trash wasn't bad either."

I think it's part of the reason that I like RokCale so much. I love the silly misunderstandings that TCF is so iconic for and I love outside reactions to a character and their actions, many RokCale stories, especially if it's a transmigrator/regressor romance, show other characters reactions to RokCale and with Ron, you often get to see him be protective and lose his cool a bit.

Yeah. Part of the reason why regressor OG Cale AUs and twin AUs are so popular (imo) is because you get to have the beloved protagonist and then have an unpredictable factor like OG Cale to shake up the story. I think the only longfic twin AU I've read that doesn't take place before the war is (One Bad is Enough). This is without counting oneshots.

I've expressed this before but I want to see a story that is focused on OG Cale but is not from his perspective since one of my favourite things about reading is watching characters from other characters' perspectives. Most OG Cale fics are from his POV entirely or with small excerpts from other characters POVs. I'd adore an OG Cale centric fic where we get to see him take names and kick ass but from entirely from everyone around him.

Certain parts of the story would either be missing if he's doing something alone and there's no character to watch him or it'd be from a God/Eldritch observers POV or it'd be written in third person where we get physical descriptions but not his thoughts.

It is a very tall task though so I don't expect it to be written unless I do it myself, lol.

That is true, I think part of the reason why the Henituse family is so sidelined is because while KRS!Cale cares for them and loves them, he doesn't have the same attachment to them as OG Cale did and there's no baggage complicating everything.

It's why KRS!Cale has a good relationship with them, he first off isn't putting on an elaborate lout act and he doesn't have any expectations of them (besides giving him money, lol).

I don't even want to get into Ron right now, that would take too many words that I can't articulate at the moment.

I don't write for the most part because I can never maintain my motivation but I understand how frustrating it must be to untangle all this mess and then carefully tie into a coherent story.
