CATS IN THE ART HISTORY 🖼 CARDINAL RICHELIEU AND HIS CATS
The mighty cardinal Richelieu had two weaknesses: his deep affection for his Queen Anne of Austria, the wife of his master King Louis XIII, and his love for cats. He owned a variety of cats, which were constantly around him. They sat down on his desk while he was working, playing with documents that had fallen on the floor, or jumped on his bed when he was lying in it. In his will, Richelieu had not forgotten his cats. So he left money for their supplies and ordered two guards to take care of them.
