This is sad. :( but I agree with these thoughts!!

this is an example of something i talked about in my post from earlier.

mini recap of what i said in that post: i have noticed that cole talks to himself when hes nervous as a way to soothe himself, i have noticed that he only really does this when he is/feels alone. this could be due to the fact that his father neglected him and wasn't there to comfort him when his mom died, because he was always off singing with his little group instead of taking care of his son. my theory is that his fathers neglect is the reason he talks to himself. he used it as a coping mechanism to deal with his grief when he lost his mom and was being neglected by his dad, since he had nobody to support him through it, he supported himself.

he may have even pretended that he was having conversations with other people because he was so lonely as a kid, and that is why not only does he say his thoughts out loud to himself, but he also TALKS to himself. like he addresses himself by his own name, he sometimes changes his voice a bit to make it seem like there are multiple people present, and he gets into little arguments despite the fact that he is voicing both sides. he likely used this as a child to cope with his loneliness, and now as a teenager, when he is forced into situations where he is alone, he regresses back to his old ways of coping with things.

he talks himself though his journey to the car while he dealt with the storm, the same way he talked himself through his childhood while he dealt with his grief

its so sad how all of the ninja had such hard childhoods before they even had the weight of the world on their shoulders
