Voodoo dolls are generally made or made with cloth and filled with cotton. but they can be made of any other type of material. such as: with corn leaves or wax. on New Orleans they do it with wooden sticks and they fill it with Spanish moss, cover it with cloth and finish making the details. and it has different uses, it is not only to inflict damage. It can be used to represent a person and help him with health problems for example. or any other kind of problem. You can also fill in with specific things: *personal "objects". *or some "herbs". and put more details if you wish. Or you can use it to make a representation of yourself and this in turn will be an "extension" of you and you can put it on your altar. so that a part of you is "accompanying" to the altar. Journal 2 - 4/17/2021

Yesterday was my first day finally getting back on track with my new routine and I plan on keeping up with this new routine. It isn't as daunting as I thought it would be and seems like a lot but putting in the right amount of effort and taking necessary breaks will improve my perspective on life as a whole.

With my cold finally gone and with eating the right amount of calories and proteins I can say that my workout last night was a success and I am back to feeling great! I just have to keep at it.

Today's Tarot Card:

(Pulled from my Fairy deck illustrated by Howard David Johnson) 4 of Summer. This card reads: 'Being distracted and failing to see magical opportunity. Taking someone or something for granted. Discontent with life.' At first I read this card as something I'm doing in my new routine is not substantial to my spiritual development but I think I can read it as that I'm not taking the right opportunities that I'm given to get in my daily practice such as meditation, study, anything to do with magick that I'm missing out on and should be improving upon. Never would I go out of my way to burn myself out but anything to help with my spiritual and mental state throughout the day is recommended.

I was browsing my local library for the first time in ages and came across this cute little book that I wanted to share with all you witches on here!

Pagan Portals The Awen Alone: Walking the Path of a Solitary Druid by Joanna van der Hoeven is an awesome read for the beginner witch. Hoeven writes about the life and thought processes of a Modern Druid and solitary practitioner.

If you are looking for a short but sweet book to read within just a few hours or days this is the book for you! It's a great introduction to any nature based belief system with a druid twist.

I pulled Nine of Pentacles of the minor arcana. This card is telling you that you will have a job worth your time and hard work. Bills will no longer be a cause for stress and you can live a comfortable home life in simple luxury. Take everything one step at a time and find something you truly wish in a working career, you may not find this career the first couple of times or it may take time to move up that corporate ladder. You may find yourself keeping to your comfort zone and maybe that's just the way you like it for this future to exist, but don't let this keep you from venturing outside of that comfort zone there are so many opportunities out there! Although you may think all will be well in this career of choice and the money will be good, always remember to take care of yourself and don't allow outside forces to keep you from working on yourself on the inside. Work stays at work and home stays at home, a lesson that not many can learn to manage. This card seems to be telling you that you are going to have a laid back career, something that you have no problem doing and have either studied hard to get here or have gained many hours of experience to reach this level.

Never forget that we come from nature, no matter how much you have engulfed yourself in the modernness of technology and human advancement. In order to connect with your true self, you just travel to the roots of where we belong naturally.

Returning to nature is key to returning to self

For all the wrong that we’ve done in our lives we can make up with changes in our perspectives and the kindness we share with others as we grow older. Molding yourself into the person you’ve always wanted to be is a long term goal and you can make it as easy or hard as you wish. But never limit yourself of what is possible and impossible.

Having good intuition allows us to see from a different perspective everywhere we go. Understanding your surroundings and understanding human behavior all helps with how we interpret things around us. Letting it guide you allows you to be a better decision maker, a good friend to those you care about, and picking the right path that suites you to your best needs.

Quality of life isn’t how much you make, how much stuff you own, how much you do.

Quality of life is enjoying the here and now. Being grateful for what you have and the journeys that you have been on physically and mentally.

This is not a time for hexes or curses, fellow practitioners. But a time of harvest, staying cozy and warm as the months get colder, and prepare to arise anew in the upcoming year.

Annual reminder to Witchblr: if a spiritualist of any variety tells you they're not a witch, then they're not a witch.

I’m gonna say it:

I don’t believe in 💵money magick💵. I believe that it is all either hard work or luck based. No way will I ever put my energy into “gaining a fortune” because I am already on that path, every day, with my good work ethic and saving/budgeting habits.

The best way to achieve better finances is looking for better opportunities, taking that promotion, or even trying something else completely. Sprinkle in a little luck magick daily and something good may come your way!
