Madara grips the shinai in his hand tightly, too tightly in fact, but he can't seem to let go.
He used to spar with Izuna like this, but that was when they were children, true children, long before they began to handle live steel.
Before Hashirama, and the dreams that came with him.
But his hands are the ones Madara sees every day, bearing the callouses of gunbai and kusarigama, and the hair which cuts across his face is long. Most of all though, he looks at Izuna through the red wash of the Sharingan… and his brother is blind.
Because his eyes are in Madara's face.

They aren't using the usual wooden buckets this year, not when there were other - more challenging - options instead.
Made with the mokuton, the fish dart madly inside a wooden oke that's even bigger than an ofuro. Indeed, it's the size of a small pond and they swim freely, already seeming to seek an escape.'Allowing his Sharingan to surface slows time however, and their movements become much more predictable.

Part of Prompts for Pride 2024, this story was written for @titaniafaeriequeen, who requested gender queer Hikaku/pansexual Tobirama.
"He is perfectly fine, thank you!" Izuna-sama is still yelling and Hikaku winces as she drags her cousin away.
"Please," she rubs at her temples in frustration, knowing he means well but wishing he wouldn't anyway. "Just… leave them alone."
"I won't." Izuna-sama's mouth turns down in what is almost a pout - and she knows what his pout looks like better than most. "They're disrespecting you!"
"They aren't." Hikaku holds up her hand, stopping the argument which he's clearly bursting to have. "No, they're not. I don't feel disrespected and it's my opinion which counts. Your brother assigned me to work with the Inuzuka and I'm doing my job - do not make my work harder."
