ash in season 1

im watching pokemon season 1 and i just realized how ash literally just cheeses his way through the gym battles... literally most of the gym badges he achieved was just GIVEN rather than actually winning them through a proper battle like he usually does in the later seasons

there was also no training whatsoever... ig they were in the experimental stage in season 1 idk

im watching pokemon sub right? and i just realized something.... tell me why gary is annoying in the english dub but in the sub hes annoying AND attractive!?!?! THOSE TWO SHOULDNT MIX BUT IT DID FOR GARY HOLDON--
