I haven't seen this circulating here on Tumblr, so I decided to make my own post.
last saturday, in Porto, there was a pride parade going down the street and this old man was standing there, by his front door, waving the portuguese flag. most people on the parade probably thought the same: old person waving the national flag? he's probably protesting against the parade, he's a nationalist of some sort.
then the old man called for that person to come near him. the whole parade stopped. everyone just.. stopped moving. they didn't know what to expect, and most expected the worst. and that person decided to give him the benefit of the doubt and approached the old man. and then... they traded flags, he hugged the person and then he waved the pride flag happily. everyone cheered him.
such a wholesome moment. 🥹❤️🌈

Almost every building was covered in these beautiful tiles, known as azulejos in portuguese.
I tried to find one that had fallen off of a building, but I only found boring pieces. I kept an olive green one with ridges, prompting my friend to accuse me of hoarding trash. As they say, one man's trash is another man's azulejos.

Lello Bookstore. Everything was overpriced, so we just went in to see this uniquely beautiful staircase. The wood twists in on itself enough to be a set in a Tim Burton movie. Photos were also not allowed in here.
I broke the law.

Chocolate beer sounded like something we needed to try when we first saw it.
Then we tried it.

When we arrived on the train, we saw the beach during the rainstorm. The waves were big, and we decided we needed to go to the beach, rain or not. We love beaches here in landlocked Salamanca. It was about 4:00 when we decided to go to the beach, but it took longer than we thought it would to get there.
Luckily, that meant it had stopped raining and the sun was setting.

Mantova, Porto Catena il varco di accesso alla piccola insenatura del Lago Inferiore. In esso defluiscono ancora le acque del Rio, il canale realizzato alla fine del 1100 per regolare le acque che circondavano la città. #lageografiadellenuvole #lombardia #mantova #segnievidenti #cultura #luoghi #italia #lagoinferiore #accessi #porto #portocatena #igersitalia (presso Lungo Lago Mantova)
