Pre-established relationship

The day had been a long one. But they all were you guess. Chasing down killers and criminals almost everyday of every week, risking your life and those of the teams for the sake of making the world a better place.

       We were piled on the jet, flying over Kentucky back to Virginia, after grueling days of work,  the rest of the team lay spread out over the small space. Though you and Reid sit across from one another, chess board in between you. And every move that was made brought you closer to sleep as you knew there would be no winning this game.  Your eyes drift closed and your head slouches forward, stopping its downward drift only when Spencer nudges your hand softly speaking your name as to not wake the other agents asleep on the plane.

        "Y/N," you meet his eyes with your own bleary gaze, "You know you didn't have to play with me if you weren't feeling up to it." He rises from his seat and moves to the bench styled one you rest on.

        "No I wanted to play play, sorry we didn't finish the game, it's been a long day." Spencer nods in agreement. "We can finish it tomorrow if you'd like?" Once again he nods and pulls you into his side in a halfway sort of hug.

       "I'd like that very much, but until then you should get some rest there's still a couple hours till we land." You nod while leaning into the lanky young man beside you, eyes drifting closed and breathed slowing to a relaxed, calming pace. As you shift into sleep you felt a light kiss being pressed to your forehead and hear the soft whisper of Dr. Spencer Reid wishing you to sleep well.
