Public Spaces - Tumblr Posts
My knees & joints are all fucked up (probably arthritis still in diagnostic process) and I never expected this becoming a problem so early in life, but I’ve been noticing how many public spaces there are that don’t have places to sit. Recently waited at a bus stop without a bench in 30 C weather (I did in fact sit down on the floor), train stations not having enough benches used to be whatever but now it’s a real problem for me, same with overfilled trains & busses (I live in Germany it’s hell lol), it’s actually terrible but NO ONE cares or notices (I didn’t either) until they start experiencing it themselves. And then no one cares cause you’re elderly or part of the minority of people with health issues that affect you in this way.
+ obviously we should just be allowed to sit tf down even if we’re not in excruciating pain like that shouldn’t be the threshold in the first place
sorry for being passionate about how normalized the ability to stand is and no one talks about n how painful it is and it makes me see red sorry it’s just so pointless . Im killing the protestant work ethic and also the concept of “professionalism” with my hands . Everyone start sitting on the ground at bus stops with me
