My rant about liberal feminism
My biggest issue with liberal feminism is it’s ignorance. Liberal feminism blatantly ignore truth, not to mention their many hypocrisies. I should know. Many years ago I was a liberal feminist, I’m talking 2016 to 2019.
Liberal feminists love to talk about the good they do for women. They free women from societal expectations. With all the body positivity talk(which is good) but promotes plastic surgery as a good, positive feminist move. Sex work is heavily glamorized with only fans and private sex work being promoted. Yet they ignore how toxic and dangerous the sex work is. Sex work is rampant with physical abuse and drug abuse. Lib fems actively promote the use of makeup, shaving, and other “choice” actions. Yet the worst liberal feminism does is praise men for the bare minimum. A man is a good father, he’s praised. A man doesn’t rape or beat a women, he’s praised. A man wears “feminine and girly” items, he’s praised.
Yet underneath of all this fake positivity and the illusion of choice that they say they have is sadness. Deep down lib fems know that they wear makeup, shave, and get plastic surgery because of societal expectations of what a women should be, should look like. Doing it for themselves therefore making it empowering. They promote sex work and porn because they know they can’t fight it. So they might as well make it their choice. Therefore making it empowering. They praise the bare minimum from men because they know that’s all the best they can get. It’s depressing. They ignore how depressing it is because it’s easier to ignore than accept the truth.
It only makes sense to be pro-trans and anti-prostitution.
There are a disproportionate amount of trans women who are prostituted compared to cis women. We know that women do this to support themselves, however that does not mean that this was a freely made “choice”. When the other option is starvation, the concept of “agency” is an illusion that is peddled by capitalism. Women should not be told that the trauma of repeated paid rape can be reduced down to “choice”.
The sexualisation of trans women, with the equation of women’s sexual abuse and exploitation as practiced prostitution, makes trans-positive and prostitution-critical positions seem in tension.
Once examined through the feminist critique of sexualised misogyny, one is unable to see these positions as contrary to one another. Many trans people are sexually violated in institutionalised forms and discriminated against based on sex and gender in both the labour market and health care.
To break this down: there are feminists who are anti-trans and anti-prostitution, on the other there are pro-trans and pro-prostitution. Both sides fail to recognise how their analysis supports positions they reject:
Pro-trans and pro-prostitution feminists believe that being trans is not chosen and therefore dignified and legally protectable, while incorrectly arguing that prostitution is chosen and therefore dignified and should be legalised.
When doing this they ignore that prostitution is a key institution of sex inequality, that is male dominance thriving off depravation of real choices.
Trans people challenge this very same sex inequality, especially in the “natural basis” of sex inequality. They are swimming upstream against social currents, however limited their options. While prostituted people of all genders are swept downstream by lack of choices. Both groups suffer the unequal harms of violations at the hands of a bigoted world. This world must change.
A society that tolerates prostitution is an inhumane society. Not only are the direct victims (those who are trafficked and brought) harmed but women and children as a whole. As long as one dominant group (men) can buy the body of another, women will all be the “purchaseable sex”.
Films like “Poor Things” glorify the sex trade in a way that is truly disgusting and disturbing. She has the brain of a child and is groomed into prostitution. This is a total male fantasy.
Ending the Sex Trade Industry has nothing to do with Censorship
The amount of debates online about ending the sex trade industry, particularly pornography, that spirals into censorship is unnerving. It is the sex sellers (pornographers, pimps and agents) who have made the sex trade about “freedom of speech”. And we have to ask ourselves “whose speech is really free here?”. Is it the consumers of porn and prostitution? Is it the women who have penises rammed down their throats? (That literally silences a person) Or is it the people who profit off of other peoples (mostly women, sometimes children’s and men’s) bodies? The answer is clear.
The censorship argument is purposely misleading. I understand that liberal feminists want to be politically correct, but the whole nature of prostitution (they attempt to be PC by calling it sex work) is by dint of what it is politically incorrect. What is done to women in the sex trade is done to them because they are women. Nearly all of them do it because they have no choice. Unless you consider starvation and poverty a choice.
Sex work is not work, in the same way that working as a teacher is not „brain work“. It is only in a capitalist landscape that we would define a group of people by their labor.
Lets say that you heard what is done in porn happening next door to you, you hear a woman screaming, being dominated and being treated with violence. Do you believe that this should be “censored”? Are you offended by what you hear? Do you think that this is obscene? These questions do not even register when we are literally confronted with what is happening to the women in porn.
A woman should be entitled to an abortion until the last week of pregnancy, things change and it’s always her body.

A liberal got so mad when I made this 🥰🫶
Porn and prostitution being claimed by the left is sickening. As a leftie, the narrative around porn and prostitution bans from others on the left rejecting it is so strange. Porn is sexist and racist. But these people are either in on it (watching it or making it) or stupid. The sex trade industry is misogyny on its face, it has been rebranded as “liberating” by lefties and pornographers.
School dress codes: Growing up as a girl I was told short skirts and bra straps were distracting for boys, as if the constant threat of sexual harassment isn’t distracting for young girls.
Nearly all women who are pro-prostitution love the aesthetic. But not the real aesthetic, instead, one they have created. Which is edgy and often associated with “bimbo” core. It’s pretty, shiny, plastic, pastel pink, and most of all consumer friendly. It frames women as girl bosses, who are just making money from their bodies. Instead of the real look of prostitution, which is male centric, ugly, brothels, back streets, beds with navy blue sheets, drugs, underaged, grey and miserable.
(Florence Given is not the only one who does this, it’s just the first example I could think of)

Talking with a friend: the term “revenge porn” is actually disgusting, because it implies the victim did something to deserve it. It should be called a sexual terrorism video, it’s done to instil fear in all women and children. It was uploaded to lead to the victim’s social death. The uploader wanted to punish their victim sexually.
Middle class liberal feminists make this argument all the time: “I am being sexualised anyway, so I may as well make money from it” this is a terrible argument, why are you not fighting sexualisation, harassment and rape? We all have to fight it. Do not give in to patriarchy. Do not be its tool!
I don’t know whether other feminists have this utter disappointment in other women who claim to hate men, then have the most ridiculous boyfriends and male friends?
Don’t tell me you hate men, when your boyfriend corrects me and other women when speaking, ignores what women say, speak over us and are just generally without empathy or good communication skills.
I’m a misandrist who really aims to reject men, you “hate men” but still have male friends. We are NOT the same!

Inara is such a misrepresentation of prostitution, she is shown as having choice over her clients, buying nice clothing and respect for her “job”. This is far from the reality of prostitution. The other women on the ship are being shown as envious of her and her ability to apparently live lavishly and buy herself nice dresses. Firefly is propaganda promoting how great prostitution is, even when nearly all of Inara’s “clients” end up insulting her in some way. She is even trained to be a prostitute, which is the ultimate male fantasy: institutionalised prostitution. Skills to please men is just disgusting.
No matter if she is a high class call girl or a street walking prostitute, she has to sexually please men for money. She would otherwise not sleep with them. This is sexual and gender inequality.
Calling it “sex-work” is super derogatory, as if all other workers engage with “brain-work”.
Liberal feminists are such a disgrace to feminism, they uphold patriarchy and all its capitalist and male centric glory. While crying “sex work is work”, while not listening to any of the majority of women who have been in porn or prostitution. Even Lana Rhodes explains how deeply manipulative and abusive the industry is and libfems simply turn the other way. While thinking that they stand with sexworkers while they are really just encouraging the systematic abuse of women. They want to be like men, and that includes standing on and above other women, including poor women, woc, and prostituted women. They are anti-sex worker because they are pro-sex work.
“Honor Killing” needs to leave our lexicon, it’s the same as “revenge porn”. It should be called what it is: religiously motivated femicide.
The way liberal feminism has emboldened male “feminists” is maddening. They are making monetised videos on YouTube about feminist topics. The audacity is astounding. Men cannot be feminists, the whole movement is to make them uncomfortable to help assist a massive change in society. Oppressors cannot lead the oppressed, they should not be speaking on our behalf.
Yes I agree that Katy Perry’s music is a bizarre anti-feminist album, and that her collab with Dr Luke is unforgivable and disgusting. But on no terms do I want to hear this coming from the mouth of a man.
These men are not making long video essays about drag queens who do the same and worse. Because cis men doing drag is apparently “progressive” while a cis woman engaging in such behaviour needs to be told she is anti-feminist. Both are anti-feminist, men feel confident to tell women to behave in a certain way. We all know what happens when we try to tell men not to do something.
These men know their main audience is women. Because we are so desperate to hear men speaking about women’s issues, but they are not our allies when they are being condescending towards women.

Seeing as telling these porn rotten brainers that kinks that involve violence, SA and SV, especially towards women, is disgusting doesn’t work. I’m just going to tell them kink shaming is my kink.
