It's very visually compelling because how pretty both their character designs is. Plus the contrast of smol and toll.
Rem understands Misa's pain having seen her from above and due to her goddess perspective does not think to judge Misa's bimbo side but instead admires her cheerful outlook on life. Misa's obsession with gothic imagery is not only not weird at all to her but actually works in her favour because it means that Misa is unbothered by and attracted to death goddess.
Rems devotion is so potent it became the single most important plot device in part one. Light starts stressing over her death threat more than L closing in on him which causes him to them eliminate both of them in one fell swoop. Rem wants what's best for Misa at all times even if means indulging her crush on garbage mass murder twink.
Aesthetically remisa is the important death note ship due to all the catholic and folklore imagery and themes it deals with. Not to mention the technicality of the rule presented in the manga that you Can kill someone for someone and remain unharmed as a shinigami so long as you don't love the person you're saving. Making love the ultimate weapon. That's so *clenches fist* beautiful. And miss knows it's beautiful I'm gonna cry shbshsjakaksbs
Placing a genuine request for Remisa shippers to come to me with reasons they personally ship Remisa/find it a compelling ship. I'm very interested!!! It's for research
I'm gonna be honest here, I just can't see Rem and Misa as a romantic pairing. I understand why people ship them but I just see Rem as a motherly figure to Misa
