Let me know what you think in the comments!
what song should I do next?
I wanna hear someone do Rewrite the Stars, but genderbent. Like, a girl singing Zac Efron’s part and a boy singing Zendaya’s.
Edit: The Other Side with a boy and a girl instead of two boys or two girls would be cool too. Idc who sings which part.
Part of my Revan playlist
Game Rules: Choose one of your characters and list songs that fit them.
There's been a while since I got an idea to make a list of the songs I associate female with Revan. Unfortunately, I was pretty lazy to realise the idea, but luckily, I was tagged by @marythegizka and did it eventually. Thank you, @marythegizka , so much!:)
So I’ve chosen female Revan from different periods of time in her life for this game (and sometimes the songs are also connected with her relationship with Malak or male Exile - Peter Brookman in my headcanon). Probably, later I’ll add up more songs to the list. The order is spontaneous. Let’s go!
1. Fire by The Score (Mostly, it’s connected with amnesiac Revan and her entangled emotions she can’t comprehend. It also may be considered as the anthem of her life starting from the Mandalorian Wars at least)
«In my head I hear a million conversations
I'm spinning out, don't wake me up until the end
The rivers flowing in denial I can't fake it
I'm paranoid that all my thoughts are all my friends…»
2. Paint It Black by Ciara or Beatrice Piacentini (It mostly deals with vibes and some lines only in the period of Revan turning into a complete Dark Lady).
«I look inside myself and see my heart is black
I see my red door and it has been painted black
Maybe then I'll fade away and not have to face the facts
It's not easy facin' up when your whole world is black».
3. Tightrope by Michelle Williams (This song and especially these lines below are associated with Revan/Malak relationship during and after the Mandalorian War. No more words 😊 )
«Hand in my hand
And you promised to never let go
We're walkin' a tightrope
High in the sky
We can see the whole world down below
We're walkin' a tightrope
Never sure, will you catch me if I should fall?
Well, it's all an adventure
That comes with a breathtakin' view
Walkin' a tightrope
With you…»
4. O, Children by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
(Frankly speaking, I was inspired by the scene of Hermione and Harry's friendly dance to this song from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I imagine the Exile and Revan dancing to it together and trying to collect their thoughts, while Malak is missing, everything is falling apart, the war is already underway, and the two of them begin to agitate knights and padawans to join the Republic in the war against the Mandalorians and also intend to find out what happened to Malak. The song contains hints on what lies ahead for them - … «…I was held in chains, but now I'm free…» and not only…)
«We have the answer to all your fears
It's short, it's simple, it's crystal clear
It's round about and it's somewhere here
Lost amongst our winnings
O Children
Lift up your voice, lift up your voice
Children
Rejoice, rejoice
…
Poor old Jim's white as a ghost
He's found the answer that we lost
We're all weeping now, weeping because
There ain't nothing we can do to protect you
…
Hey little train, wait for me!
I was held in chains, but now I'm free
I'm hanging in there, don't you see?
In this process of elimination…»
That scene!:)
5. No Time to Die by Billie Eilish (These lines are about that time when Revan finally finds out her true self and her real past and a little bit after that. Without a doubt, Revan is rather offended by Malak’s betrayal, that’s why ‘You were never on my side’. In my view, she doesn’t really think so).
«…I let it burn You're no longer my concern, mmm Faces from my past return Another lesson yet to learn
That I'd fallen for a lie
You were never on my side
Fool me once, fool me twice
Are you death or paradise?
Now you'll never see me cry
There's just no time to die».
6. Who You Are by Lunatica (The whole song is about amnesiac Revan and you’ll figure out why if you listen to it). Here are my favourite lines:
«Frozen and broken Don't know where you're going Losing your identity You're so caught up in hiding But everybody sees
You're never gonna feel You're never gonna heal You're never gonna know what's fake or real 'Til you know who you are You're lying to your face And running in a race You're never gonna win 'til you find your place And you know who you are».
7. Never Tear Us Apart by Bishop Briggs (Revan/Malak song before, during and after the War because then the Jedi Order “could never ever tear us apart”)
«I told you that we could fly
'Cause we all have wings,
but some of us don't know why
I was standing, you were there
Two worlds collided and they could never ever tear us apart».
8. Rewrite the Stars by Zac Efron and Zendaya (Revan/Malak romantic relationship for some time before the war – forbidden and supposed to be sort of impossible… Unresolved romantic tension I’d say).
«You know I want you
It's not a secret I try to hide
But I can't have you
We're bound to break and
My hands are tied
How do we rewrite the stars?
Say you were made to be mine?
Nothing can keep us apart
Cause you are the one I was meant to find
It's up to you
And it's up to me
No one can say what we get to be
And why don't we rewrite the stars?
Changing the world to be ours…»
9. Everybody Wants to Rule the World by Lorde (I associate this song with Revan and Malak after the War and till the battle on the Star Forge).
«There's a room where the light won't find you
Holding hands while the walls come tumbling down
When they do, I'll be right behind you
So glad we've almost made it
So sad we had to fade it
Everybody wants to rule the world
Everybody wants to rule the world
Everybody wants to rule the world…»
10. Who I Am by The Score (A hero and a villain… Any comments necessary?)
«…I'm a hero and a villain
I'm a myth, and I'm a legend
Without strength and a contender
I am real and the pretender
Take me as I am, or don't 'Cause I don't give a damn, no…»
11. End of Evangelion: Komm, süßer Tod =)
I know, I know I've let you down I've been a fool to myself I thought I could Live for no one else But not through all the hurt and pain It's time for me to respect The ones you love Mean more than anything So with sadness in my heart I feel the best thing I could do Is end it all And leave forever What's done is done, it feels so bad What once was happy now is sad I'll never love again My world is ending I wish that I could turn back time 'Cause now the guilt is all mine Can't live without the trust from the ones you love. I know we can't forget the past You can't forget love and pride Because of that it's killing me inside It all returns to nothing, it all comes Tumbling down...

I watched the Greatest Showman and have been singing “rewrite the stars” for four days straight.

Prologue
All it took was a look in your eye, when he, just in time, caught you in motion mid air. Arms and legs stretched elegantly as you some what reached out to him, approaching him closer and closer like an angel as you swung to his direction.
It was happening so slow, as if time had slowed down for the two of you. From the few pieces of hair that framed your face, your slightly parted plump lips, the glimmer in your eyes , he took in everything as your faces were only inches apart, you had smiled and it was the most beautiful thing he had seen in his life.
Your extended arm slightly brushed his cheek and before he knew it you had swung back to the opposite direction before you gracefully descended as the hoop you held onto was brought down. All the while he kept his eyes on you.
“Who is that?” he had genuinely wanted to know.

Scott:
You know I want you
It's not a secret I try to hide
I know you want me
So don't keep sayin' our hands are tied
You claim it's not in the cards
And fate is pullin' you miles away
And out of reach from me
But you're here in my heart
So who can stop me if I decide
That you're my destiny?
What if we rewrite the stars?
Say you were made to be mine
Nothing could keep us apart
You'd be the one I was meant to find
It's up to you, and it's up to me
No one can say what we get to be
So why don't we rewrite the stars?
Maybe the world could be ours
Tonight
Cleo:
You think it's easy
You think I don't wanna run to you
But there are mountains
And there are doors that we can't walk through
I know you're wondering why because we're able to be
Just you and me within these walls
But when we go outside, you're gonna wake up and see
That it was hopeless after all
No one can rewrite the stars
How can you say you'll be mine?
Everything keeps us apart
And I'm not the one you were meant to find
It's not up to you
It's not up to me
When everyone tells us what we can be
How can we rewrite the stars?
Say that the world can be ours
Tonight
Both:
All I want is to fly with you
All I want is to fall with you
So just give me all of you
It feels impossible
It's not impossible
Is it impossible?
Say that it's possible
How do we rewrite the stars?
Say you were made to be mine?
Nothing can keep us apart
'Cause you are the one I was meant to find
It's up to you
And it's up to me
No one can say what we get to be
And why don't we rewrite the stars?
Changing the world to be ours
You know I want you
It's not a secret I try to hide
But I can't have you
We're bound to break and my hands are tied
Hi! I love your edgejeanist one-shots. You are doing a great job! I have an idea, do you know the movie, “The Greatest Showman”? There’s this scene where Anne Wheeler and Phillip Carlyle sang this song, “Rewrite the Stars” and this song instantly made me think about Edgejeanist. So, the concept for edgejeanist in this scene is Tsunagu introduces Shinya to his parents and they didn’t approve of him since they didn’t like two men together and wanted Tsunagu to marry a woman (I’m not being homophobic) so Shinya walked away and the next day Tsunagu went up to him and tried to convince Shinya that they’re wrong but Shinya didn’t believe him and then the both of them started singing that song I mentioned and yeah, I’ll leave all of it to you. I hope I’m not a burden about this. You don’t have to do this if you can’t. Keep up the great work! I hope you have a spectacular day!
Omg I love this so much thank your asking this??? I absolutely will do this!! Just to be clear again; Tsunagu tries to tell Shinya its wrong or the other way around bc I have the movie scene in mind were she says its wrong so I'm not sure I just wanna wrote it right owo
Rewrite the Stars
Tsunagu struggles with disapproving parents but Shinya manages to bring his hope back with a song. I did it dear Anon! I hope this is to your liking! I had a lot of fun writing it :) Angst with happy ending, fluff TW HOMOPHOBIA
Tsunagu could barely hear his own affirmations over his heartbeat. Today was the day he would introduce Shinya to his parents, and he was terrified of their reactions. He loved silver haired man, more than he could even love himself, but he was also weak. Too good. Too obedient to stand up against his parents. Too deep in the role he grew up in; the perfect, straight, polite, respectful boy his parents had raised. Good looking too, always tidy, and mindful of his appearance. Except he had realized that straight wasn’t the best way to describe himself. He had fallen in love with a boy, slightly younger and from poorer conditions; someone who wouldn’t mind not brushing his hair for a week and who could barely go without making a joke that his parents surely would not like. Jokes good boys like Tsunagu didn’t make. But ones he had learned to love so much.
“Tsu, you’re shaking. That’s not making your affirmations very convincing.”
Shinya chuckled nervously and held his hand tighter. He was right, of course, but the blonde couldn’t help it. To say that he was scared was an understatement, he was terrified and just wanted it all to go well. Finally, he knocked on the door they’d been standing in front of for nearly half an hour. It seemed like forever until it opened and there stood the human, perfect dolls that were Tsunagu's parents. With bright fake smiles that made Shinya want to throw up, but he bit his tongue and smiled back.
“Hello, young man. You must be Tsunagu’s friend. He’s told us so much about you.”
He had told lies to even get them to allow Shinya to come over. In their minds, he was from a good house downtown, with exceptionally good grades, and the representative of his class. None of that was true, but Tsunagu figured that “co-president of their unauthorized fabric-arts club” would not be enough to convince them. Especially since the two of them were the only members.
“I am, ma’am. My name is Shinya Kamihara. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
“Oh isn’t he polite honey?”
She asked Tsunagu’s father who merely gave an affirming, seemingly approving nod. The boys stepped in and were promptly led to the kitchen, where dinner was already served; the smell was heavenly and unlike anything Shinya had ever smelled. He was used to canned foods and anything that was as cheap as possible and when he saw the plentitude of food on the table, his mouth watered. But there was a good chance that he wouldn’t eat any of it, because he and Tsunagu had agreed to tell his parents about them before dinner. That way the nervousness would be out of the way, and they could, if it went well, eat in peace.
Both of them were equally scared. There was a plan B, technically, in which the two heroes in training could go and live with the younger one’s parents. They had always been supportive of their son, and of their love, but what held them back was Tsunagu’s status. And it would be a harsh drop for him to be discarded by his family if they didn’t isolate him even more from people they didn’t see as suitable to be his friends. Or lovers. They had too much power, too, and he would lose all the benefits he’d grown up with. It was a scary thought, and Shinya understood that. He also understood that the blonde would have a hard time if that happened but he had promised his undying support. As far as he could give it in his own condition. And he was scared that his soulmate would hate him. What if they broke up? What if he lost his family over a temporary relationship? Though, that wasn’t what it felt like. They were like water to each other, meeting whenever they had free time, and it hurt deeply to think about losing each other.
The blonde grabbed Shinya’s hand and took a deep breath before he started to speak, slowly and with a shake in his voice that Shinya didn’t know from him:
“I.. we have to tell you something. Shinya isn’t my friend. He’s my boyfriend.”
That was direct, which was to be expected of him, but it still slightly surprised Shinya. The room was so silent you could hear a pin drop and for such a long moment that he needed a good two seconds to register the slap that followed. Tsunagu was holding his cheek as tears rolled down his face, but he said nothing more. Shinya himself was too frozen in shock to react and his mind almost went blank as the man shouted:
“Are you kidding me?!”
The mother was crying as well, and the boy could have slapped her for how ridiculous it was.
“We didn’t raise you like this, darling! We just want to see you marry a pretty girl you love! What did we do wrong?”
Tsunagu was sobbing now, and stepped away from Shinya who couldn’t hold back his words any longer:
“What kind of shitty assholes are you? Your son can’t even love whoever he wants? You are disgusting.”
Both their attention was now on him, giving his boyfriend a brief break, but it wasn’t either of their words that broke his heart:
“Kamihara. I think you should go home now.”
“Tsu-“
“It’s Hakamada to you.”
With gritted teeth, Shinya ran out, to avoid letting anyone see his tears, and fled the scene into the warm light of the sunset. It felt like a metaphor, setting the end of their relationship, but it was too painful to give up this easily. And so after running for multiple minutes, he took a deep breath. And focused on breathing and rationalizing his thoughts; this would not be where their relationship would end, and he would not feel hurt by the other’s words now. The blonde hadn’t meant them, and Shinya would make sure to let him know that this hole they were in was one they would mend together.
The evening that followed felt incredibly long. It consisted of Shinya eating the little dinner his father could serve him, and brainstorming so hard he believed that the man could see smoke coming out of his ears as he asked:
“Würmchen, what’s wrong? You seem so absentminded today.”
A little smile came on his face at the new nickname; his father loved to learn all kinds of nicknames from different languages for him, and this one was particularly cute. But his face dropped again fast at the memory of the day:
“I met Tsu’s parents today and... they don’t want us to be together.”
The other softly patted his hair:
“I’m sorry to hear that. But I can’t imagine you would give up so fast.”
“I won’t! I just don’t know what to do. I know you and Mom said he can come live with us, but I don’t think I could convince him with words. He’s too scared and I understand that.”
His father hummed with a nod and took his hands with an assuring squeeze:
“Shinya, I’m not sure if I can really help you here, but I’m sure you will figure it out. Maybe there is something that connects you two, a memory or a song that can pull him out of his doubts?”
There was none that Shinya could think of at the moment, mind too clouded, not with worry but the sadness of how miserable Tsunagu must have felt at the moment. Surely he was lying awake in his room, crying and cursing himself for struggling so much with standing up to his parents. He knew that if it wasn’t for them, and the fear of what they might do, he would choose him over anything in the world.
“Thank you, pop. I’ll think about it.”
“I know you will, pumpkin. Don’t stay up too late.”
This wasn’t something Shinya could comply with, for now he was determined to come up with something that could convince his love to make the choice both of them knew was the one he wanted to make. For at least an hour he stared up at the glow stars on his ceiling when suddenly, it hit him; there was a song. One the two of them had sung to each other, just a few years ago, when they felt unsure about whether they should risk starting a relationship. The young man put it on and fell asleep with a smile, convinced that these lyrics might just mark the start of a life much brighter and happier.
His sleep was dreamless and calm; much deserved after what he’d been through and what he would attempt to do the next day.
He awoke to his mother’s soft voice, waking him and placing a tray of self-made pancakes on his lap with a smile:
“Your father told me about last night, and I’m sorry I couldn’t be there.”
“Don’t apologize, mommy, you were at work. I understand that. You don’t need to make me fancy breakfast because of this.”
He said but with his grumbling stomach, he couldn’t help but shovel them into his mouth instantly. They seemed to be in a comparably good place financially if she could afford this, and Shinya knew he should simply be happy about that. He hoped to find a paid internship soon, but until then he had to give his best in the unpaid one he got into. He was already lucky he got to attend UA with his scholarship and help from the government, but getting into the world of becoming a pro-hero was much harder than he had thought.
The boy had been scared to start dating Tsunagu at first, afraid he would think it was just for his money, but the older one had always been way too clever to even think that. And he knew how much Shinya loved him. And Shinya knew the same about him.
With a *ding* he checked his phone and saw a message from the blonde:
We need to talk. Come to the bench?
A single glance up at his mother’s face was enough to make her chuckle and he jumped out of the bed the second she told him to “Just go already.”. He got dressed fast, kissed her goodbye, and ran out of the house.
“The bench” was an old wooden one, by an even older oak tree that the two had been meeting at for as long as Shinya could remember. It was a pretty spot, with a nice view over the local lake, one that was outside of both the poor and the rich neighborhoods. It felt like a comforting neutral ground, and it was very popular with couples.
“I’m here my love!”
He sang, waving at the blonde who looked almost more upset than the night before. Tsunagu raised his head, hitting Shinya instantly with a dry and clearly hesitant statement:
“We should break up.”
The shorter one stopped, sighed, and took the other’s hands:
“See, I don’t agree, Tsu.”
“I.. Shinya, please. My parents don’t approve. They want me to marry a woman. Of high status. They’ll never approve, I just don’t understand why you would want me if I can’t even stand up to them for you.”
But his boyfriend wouldn’t give in so easily; he looked up, with a soft and hopeful smile, and started to sing calmly:
“You know I want you. It’s not a secret I try to hide.”
The rich boy seemed slightly surprised, and turned away as tears welled up in his eyes:
“Don’t do this Shinya.”
“I know you want me. So don’t keep saying our hands are tied.”
Even though Tsunagu may not have thought it would be in the cards for them and that fate was pulling them apart, his lover did not think the same. They were in each other’s hearts and nobody would be able to stop them if he could just win the blonde over. If he just put their destiny to be together over the fear of his parents.
“What if we rewrite the stars. Say you were made to be mine.”
If Tsunagu could just do that, then nothing could keep them apart anymore. Even if they had nothing but a million dreams, it would be more than enough for Shinya. Tsunagu’s expression had softened a bit by now and a relieved laugh left the shorter one as the other’s cold hands closed around his warmer ones:
“You think it’s easy. You think I don’t wanna run to you.”
The lyrics matched his feelings all too well; he wanted nothing but to be with the other man, but there were so many doors they couldn’t walk through. He couldn’t walk through when it always seemed so easy to Shinya; who was poor and from low status and who just kept and kept on hoping and pushing through so bravely.
Their love had always felt like a tightrope with Shinya, one they walked together; dangerous and ridiculous to some. It felt safer on the land of pleasing his parents, yet this deep unknown sea that was loving Shinya was that much more pleasing. A sea he wanted to sail more than anything, to find a place he could happily call home.
The world felt like a fantasy with him, like a wonderful dream Tsunagu never wanted to wake up from. Shinya made him feel alive, and he wished he wasn’t so afraid to show his love openly and step outside his toxic role of the perfect son, a marionette to his parents, who never cared about what made him happy.
“All I want is to fly with you, all I want is to fall with you.”
Shinya continued the song, and he knew he had won when Tsunagu finally lowered his head, kissing the younger one’s hands and shaking with sobs:
“I don’t want to lose you Shinya. I don’t want to break up. I just want to hold you and love you and I feel no matter how much I love you it’s never enough to break this cycle I’m in. I’m so scared of the unknown but I think I’m ready now to take the risk and follow you there.”
The kiss that followed was long and warm, and so full of love that their hearts threatened to burst from the wonderful intensity of it. Tsunagu cupped his love’s cheeks and closed the distance between them, holding him tight, unwilling to ever let go. This warmth was one he would never get from his parents or anyone, he realized, and it was one he never wanted to lose again.
“If I do this… are you certain your parents will let me live with you for a while?”
“Babe. They love you. They would be much more upset if I came home without you. We know you won’t be able to pay rent, and nobody expects you to. We just want you to be safe. Even if your parents freeze your account.”
At those words, the blonde reached into his pocket and pulled out a large stack of money, much more than Shinya had ever seen:
“Actually, I went to withdraw most of it before meeting you.”
It took Shinya a moment to realize what this implied and then a relived sigh left him:
“This means you knew we’d not break up!”
“My little fiber.. my sweet, soft little fiber, I didn’t know. I was hoping we wouldn’t. I was hoping you would find a way to lead me back to you, away from my fears. What I did know was you would try, and I cannot apologize enough for not trying the same way you do. But now I want to fight.”
He lost himself in the other’s gray, beautiful, brave eyes for a moment and stole another kiss:
“Expensive champagne and cars and mansions are someone else’s dreams. They’re my parents’ dreams, I realize that now. I have my own dreams. One of them is right here in my arms.”
Shinya smiled content, nuzzling into the taller one’s chest and letting this moment of love wash over them. It was like a burning fire, like freedom, to be held by him like this, knowing this rough moment was over. Somehow, he could feel that from now on everything would be alright. And that their love would last for a long time to come.
