Rip To My Guy David But - Tumblr Posts
Ok it’s 1:00 in the morning so the creative juices are flowing so here I go😌... the reader and their friend having prom or some dance similar and reader doesn’t have any one to go with but their friend promises they’ll find them someone. Reader still goes on the day of the dance despite not having anyone, but meets a lad dressed in a full white suite (which she though for a second had some kind of “fake wings”) and introduces himself as Paul (part 1/2)
2/2 and says he was set up to meet the reader and take them to prom (so Reader assumes their friend found someone) so they go inside and actually have a lot of fun (even with dancing). Towards the end of the night when reader see’s their friend they ask them about Paul but they respond “who’s Paul”? “Wait you didn’t set me up then who was that I spent the night with...

“Allie, don’t mess with me. I know you set me up with him. He said he was here to dance with me.”
Your friend stared at you for a moment, acting like you’d just grown a second head.
“No, Y/N, I brought David to dance with you. There’s no one I know named Paul.”
That made your blood run cold. How had Paul known you were waiting to be set up with someone? How did he know who you were?
“Where’s David?” you asked, thinking maybe the names had gotten mixed up. Allie pointed to a shorter boy with blond hair. Definitely not Paul.
You made a mad dash for the exit, thinking maybe you could catch up with Paul. Allie was yelling your name behind you but you ignored her, scampering across the schoolyard and around the block. The street was dead and pitch black; everyone was inside.
“Paul!” you screamed, stamping your foot.
“Whatever the hell your name is! I know you’re around here somewhere.”
“Y/N?”
You whirled around so fast, your head might’ve snapped off. Paul was a few feet away, still in his pristine white suit. Even though it was nighttime, you could see him clearly. He almost glowed of his own accord, eyes starry and bright.
“You lied to me. Allie didn’t send you.”
Paul sighed and hung his head.
“I know. I didn’t know how else to ask you to dance.”
“How did you know I was waiting to be set up?”
You took a step closer, squinting as you saw a faint sparkle around Paul. The air was distorted, like when a bus exerted too much gasoline and made the ground wavy.
“I-I overheard your conversation at the party. Seemed like your date wasn’t planning on showing.” Paul watched you with wide eyes as you waved your hand around his back. The sparkles dissipated and reformed.
“What are you?”
Paul backed away, tittering nervously.
“Heh, what d’you mean?”
“You knew. You don’t go to school here and you still knew I needed a date. You just swooped in here like... like an angel or something. How did you know?”
Paul bit his lip and leaned over, brushing his lips against yours. You were surprised but you didn’t pull away. His skin was unnaturally warm, and it buzzed with electricity where he touched you.
Then he was pulling away and for a second, you could’ve sworn you’d seen the outline of a wing.
“I have to go. Tonight was the best time I’ve had in... ages. I wish I could stay but I can’t. I’m sorry, Y/N.”
And then he was rushing down the block. His feet barely touched the pavement, almost like he was flying.
You took off after him, demanding an explanation. But when you turned the corner, there was no one there.
Laying on the ground was a single pink carnation; the one from his jacket pocket. You picked it up and tucked it into your bag, turning around to head home.
As you walked, you looked up, expecting to see the stars that usually guided you home but tonight, the sky was empty.
It seemed they’d all disappeared on you.
