Looking at this makes me realise why the fandom is the way it is
Every time I think of the Rise of the TMNT movie I get some kind of emotional response because how did they do that. How did they make a movie so full of angst. Like, look at the stuff it does:
- EVERYONE FUCKING DIES IN THE BEGINNING
- EVERYTHING about Casey
- "I'm the oldest. I'm responsible for keeping us safe, and making sure we can handle anything that comes our way. 'Cause if I don't, we could all end up dead"
- Raph's sacrifice scene
- All of the blood and general bodyhorror
- Raph getting Krang-ified and forced to attack his brothers (THAT WOULD BE LIKE HIS WORST NIGHTMARE???)
- Leo grappling with the fact that he killed everyone in the future
- The whole Leo Raph fight
- LEO's sacrifice
- CASEY being the one who's forced to lock Leo in there
- THE SCENE WHERE LEO GETS BEATEN NEARLY TO DEATH
- That good long scene where everyone thinks Leo is dead
Like literally how does this exist??? And how did they do all of it without it feeling like overly edgy torture porn. I've never watched anything that makes me feel the way that this movie does

It’s insane, Rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles first aired on Nickelodeon FIVE years ago today…..
It’s…it’s so bittersweet at this point knowing of this show’s ultimate fate, but the fandom is still keeping the life force of what it left behind for us flowing through and strong long after its cancellation.
Maybe one day, ONE DAY, we’ll get to see something that’ll shine the light for the show to resurface for television/streaming once more, but until then we just keep doing what we’ve been doing and never let that hot soup cool off not a single temperature.
