Prologue
“Raph, I can go on my own! I’m not a little kid anymore!”
Mikey whined to his older brother, who crossed his arms with a frown.
“No Mikey. Remember what happened last time you went on a mission by yourself?”
“Yeah- but that was one time! And this isn’t even a mission, it’s a patrol.”
Mikey corrected his brother quickly.
“Besides, I totally had it last time!”
Raph raised an eyebrow.
“Really?”
“Yes really! Why don’t you trust me?”
Mikey huffed, turning around with crossed arms. There was a long silence, before Raph let out a big sigh.
“Fine. But if anything goes wrong-“
“Call you?”
Mikey finished the older turtles sentence as she turned his head to face him.
“I- yes…“
Mikey smiled, unwrapping his arms and fully turning around to his older brother.
“I won’t be long, I promise.”
Raph frowned.
“Just… be safe.”
And with that, Mikey left, heading out into the bustle of New York for a patrol with a joyful bounce in his step.

Authors note: Sorry if this didn’t make sense, or was short. It’s late when I’m writing this, so is part of chapter 1 I believe. This fic has been on my to do list for months now, so I thought now would be the perfect time to curate it. And I’m sorry for not posting my usual HTF content as of recent, Rise has taken over my hyperfixations for the moment but I predict HTF will come back soon. I also am making a few other crack fics, so expect those if I decide to post them here! But for now, I hope you enjoy the Rise fic!
