Date Night // Fred Weasely x Ravenclaw Reader.

I'm sorry for my mistakes here. I’m not quite used to writing fluff.

He promised her a date and he was a man of promises. The plan was to wait at Hogsmeade and Fred would come pick her up as Y/N was too young to apparate.

But something happened that day, news of her friend Draco Malfoy had reached her. Apparently, he was in the hospital wing, according to the rumours he fought with famous Harry Potter.

Y/N had a pretty good relationship with Harry, and she knew very well what happened. She went to see Draco first, he was asleep, bandaged though she could barely see as he was wearing a shirt above.

Madam Pomfrey had assured her that she was fine, but she was not happy. She wanted to know why. What happened that Draco had been almost cut into half.

She entered the Gryffindor common room, with the help of a perfect, it was normal to have her over. She was always following the Weasleys around.

“Don’t,” said Ginny, stopping Y/N from asking Harry anything. “He didn't do it on purpose, you know he wouldn’t.”

Y/N frowned, “I didn't come to lecture him, just wanted to ask why? He looks horrible.” she said looking at Harry. His face was pale and he stared at the fire as if something interesting was happening in it.

Hermione and Ron came over, both telling her not to talk to him. It was making her angry, just because she was a Ravenclaw didn't mean she doesn't understand. It didn't mean that Y/N would lecture around all day.

In fact, she never did lecture, she had always understood Harry as they both had come from abusive families. Yet here they acted as if she didn't.

Her temper was rising every second as she stood with them, she was overthinking things like she always did.

She couldn't believe they didn't ask how she was feeling, her friend could have died. Didn't she see Ron’s body during her first year? Hermione's petrified body? Didn't she also see Ginny's stone body in the chember of secret? They were both victims of the incident. Though Ginny didn't see Y/N's body, Y/N did.

She had seen Cedric’s dead body, though he wasn't a friend she had cried for him. It was scary, she had seen Sirius die. Someone who didn't treat her like a child, another someone who could understand her problems.

She felt her eyes water, she didn't want to cry. She was being dramatic. She turned on her heels and walked out of the common room, leaving the others comfused.

They didn't understand because Draco wasn't their friend.

Her bad mood lasted the entire evening, and it stayed with her as she got ready for her date.

She picked a blue turtle neck, plaided black and white skirt and knee-length boots and a black jacket and beanie to top it off.

She made her way to Hogsmeade, transforming into her animagus form (a cat), as she went, out of the castle, in the grounds and out.

She saw him waiting, stomping his feet on the snow. He had come first, that earned an eyebrow raise from Y/N.

“You're early,” she said stepping next to him. His frown turned into a smile as his eyes met hers.

She had to look up at him, her being 5’1 and him being 5’10. They were a weird couple. He was super handsome and she was just...ugly...

It was him, who made her forget all her insecurities, all her madness, sadness. She smiled trying to forget what happened back at the castle.

“I’m sorry, Im late,” she said but he shook her head even though he had waited a good thirty minutes.

“I’d be lying if I said I just came, but it was worth waiting,” he said kissing her forehead.

She could feel fireworks in her stomach, and it was him who made her feel like this.

Fred gave her his hand and she grabbed it and they apparated into Diagon Alley. It was bigger and safer, and no one would know. That Y/N was out.

It had been decorated with Christmas coloured lanterns, Christmas trees, advertises outside. And as snow fell, it looked as if, they were in a snow globe.

Hands intertwined, Fred took the lead taking her into shops showing the latest stuff, the joke shops, and they had gone to the Weasleys Wizard Wheezes to see George. Y/N missed him, the three were partners in crime. Though Y/N got out of trouble easily than they did.

Fred took her next to Magical Menagerie to show her the new puppy that was brought yesterday. But as Y/N looked at the Shih Tzu, she couldn't help but think there were two puppies infront of her.

“That one is so cute!” Fred told her waving at it.

“I see two cuties, not one,” she said her cheeks flushed. Fred turned to her grinning, he pecked her lips. “I just can’t help but think that my kittie is jealous. Are Jealous my kitty?” he asked bending down to face her.

Y/N tried avoiding his gaze, but he was too close. It was true, they were standing here for a while and he had given his attention to that puppy, but she didn't mind. This part of him was so cute it drove her crazy.

He kissed her nose and pulled her into a hug.

“You know you look so f***ing gorgeous when u get mad,” he whispered in her ear. “Now will you tell me why your so gloomy today or shall I, make you?”

He looked at her, waiting for her response. Her lips curved into a smile. And he smirked.

“So your not going to tell me are you?”

“No.” she replied crossing her arms.

“Fine. You're not getting it,” he said pulling her hand as they walked out of the shop. Y/N stopped walking. She was frustrated, he always teased her and her foul mood was coming back.

“How did you know. . .?”

He turned around to face her and smiled.

“Ginny told me.” he said, “About Harry and . . . Malfoy.” he pulled her into a hug. “You did great, holding in everything.”

And now she understood why he was super calm today, he had been trying to not snap at her when she was late, he had brought her to see the animals as he knew it was one thing that would make her happy. It would distract her. He tried not to tease much today too, something she noticed after meeting George.

She sobbed in his arms. Mumbling about how everyone were big idiots.

“There , there i bet you didn't feel me lick your ear.” he said and Y/N looked 👀

“wHat? Did you—”

Then she punched him. He had rested his chin on her head the whole time.

“Not funny!” she said but she was smiling. He just made a fool out of her yet she was smiling.

When she finally stopped crying he took her into this small coffee shop so that they could rest their feet.

They ordered coffee while Fred told all about what happened in the shop, about how a customer had drunk a love potion that George handed and then he started following George all day. It was a very weird day.

And Y/N laughed her eyes out just by imagining George run from a lovesick customer.

It was half-past 7 when Fred took her to Hogsmeade.

“I’ll miss you,” she whispered. She didn't want to part with him.

“We’ll see again”

he replied and this time their kiss lasted longer. She could feel love and want in the kiss and for a second Y/N thought it would be a heated make out so she pulled away before he crossed the limit.

He pouted but Y/N just shook her head.

“Some other day” she whispered, she too wanted to continue, her hands itched to her touch him, bring him close so they didn't have any gap left but no.

Fred nodded and picked her up into a bone-crushing hug before walking and apparting a few feet away.

Y/N smiled.

He was driving her crazy and she was loving it.

The bad mood from an hour ago had disappeared in thin air.

have i read/watched Harry Potter recently? No

Do i have feelings about this? Yes

Ok so, Ron abandons them in the 4th and last book right? Which isnt every book, but his reasons were really shit. Like i feel like he was genuinley toxic.In the Goblet Of Fire, Harry is picked right? And he makes it no secret that HE DID NOT PUT HIS NAME IN!

He could have died! And Ron was upset because he didn't show him how to get past the age barrier. And i get Ron is a flawed charecter, and he has his like, self esteem issues. But let me tell you, if he was my friend, i would not take that shit. And i get that he is a part of the trio, but it doesn't change the fact that he was a shit friend sometimes. Which is fine, but it happens like 3 times, and I low-key feel like it is never adressed.
