I gotta ask...

No hate on anyone or anything btw but I gotta ask... how come in the Black trailer back in 2013 Adam’s semblance allowed him to cut through the spider robot like it was paper but couldn’t cut through a metal arm??? Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think an Atlas military weapon is weaker than a metal arm, but that’s just me.

What REALLY happened the night Beacon fell

What REALLY Happened The Night Beacon Fell

The red of Adam's blade mirrored the fire around him in what used to be a grand hall. The flame swooned as the great sword whistled through the air. The heat intensified as Adam cleaved single-handed through the defense of the lone Huntsman, like the applause of a watching crowd. The search for sustenance paused as blood flowed free, and the scent of the roast showed the fire's pleasure at their champion's offering of death.

It is as it should be, Adam thought as he flicked the blood off his sword and watched the Huntsman, a tall male in a white uniform, burn. But when the flames, never satisfied, inched closer to Adam. He swept the flame back with a furious slash of his sword across the floor.

As if I would let you so much as touch me! Adam thought, be content with the scum, and know your place!

But as the fire's feast reached its climax, Adam saw the image of a woman. With the hair of the abyss, dressed in the fire's iridescence, and ambition's emptiness in gold for her eyes. A reminder. To feed the fire, or be consumed by it.

Know your place, Adam Taurus.

A presence. Familiar. A shadow turned to steel. This was followed by a slash from Adam's blind side to his left. As she was taught. A cut that would expose the throat of a lesser opponent when he flinches.

But Adam was a Faunus, and a Faunus does not flinch.

Like a bull, Adam turned his horns into the cut. The blade's tip whistled past his head and scraped a chip off the bull's horns peeking through his red hair. Adam's response came in wide and ended in a hug.

"Blake, thank the Gods you're here!"

The brief feeling of warmth. The sense of comfort from a good memory. It faded as all good memories do. In a cloud of black smoke, followed by reality crashing down on everything.

"What have you done?!"

Adam turned towards the voice. Towards Blake Belladonna, standing behind him with her blade pointed at the black breast of his suit. A little taller than Adam remembered. The raw edge of youth, rounded by a maturity which created the feeling of innocence tempered with a pearl of wisdom that Adam could not give.

"What we vowed to do, a long time ago." Adam said, "but none of that now, Blake. Please, I need your help."

The sound of debris being kicked across the flame-blackened floor mirrored the derision in Blake's voice.

"My help?!" Blake said, "You're a murderer, Taurus!"

Adam stepped forward. Blake retreated. The distance between the two was just a step, but to Adam, it felt like Blake was getting farther away.

"Humans are the murderers, Belladonna!" Adam said, " the blood of our brothers and sisters are on their hands!"

"Not on every human's hands!"

"And you're siding with those that watched, hands in their pockets, as our kin were slaughtered! If not by the sword, if not by the bullet, then by inaction and cowardice. Are they guiltless, then? Are their hands clean of our blood?!"

Blake advanced. But Adam's sword. Longer and steadier, knocked aside Blake's sword with a casual flick of his wrist. A warning. One did not see Adam's swordplay unless he let them.

"Our kin, our brothers and sisters, were murdered by humans," Adam said, "More will be murdered if you do not help me save them!"

Blake walked closer, and Adam lowered his blade so that he wouldn't mar the pale tapestry of Blake's skin with blood.

"You brought the Faunus here!" Blake said, "You put them in a fight they did not need to fight. Because of what you are doing," Blake placed her hand on Adam's sword, "Faunus are being shot, and stabbed, and hurt."

"It is not by choice that I'm here," Adam said while he pulled his hand away from Blake's, "But it is by choice that I'm speaking to you. The White Fang, your people, are under the control of someone evil. Someone I cannot name right now. I'm trapped, but you could reach out and get help. For the Faunus."

Blake's eyes were gold, just like the woman in the fire. But there was no emptiness there, just a brilliant belief that could never be shaken from what was right. But when Blake reached up to Adam's face, and Adam flinched away, that brilliance dimmed. As if a cloud had covered the sun, and denied Adam any hope from it.

"I won't fight you, Adam," Blake said, "but I won't help you. If you really think the Faunus need help, then surrender."

Blake turned away. But before she could leave, Adam's hand gripped Blake's arm.

"Belladonna! You can't turn your back on your own kind!"

Someone screamed. Incoherent. Furious. Adam pushed Blake aside as he turned towards the sound, leading with his blade. No one see's Adam's swordplay unless he lets them. Not even Adam himself, at times.

"Yang? YANG!"

Blake was running now. Running toward a tangled mess of gold hair and limbs, out of which a mangled bloody arm Blake grasped in her hands as she started to sob. Another human had fallen to Adam's blade, but what was the point?

With a growl, Adam stabbed his sword into the closest fire before he tore the huge black bow from Blake's hair. As black as the woman in the fire's, but it was the black the twilight instead of the depths of oblivion. Dragging his sword from the flames, Adam then kicked Blake away and shoved the gleaming blade onto the cuts on this 'Yang's arm.

Once again there was the scent of searing flesh. Nauseating and oily. But as Adam tied Blake's bow around the cauterized wounds, Adam felt like he had taken a step somewhere. He was not sure where, but when Blake's terror gave way to relief when she saw the bandaged wounds, Adam was certain that Blake was the only one who could help him.

"Adam," Blake said as he turned to leave, "why?"

Adam didn't look back as he said.

"I brought this to you, Blake. My hands are not clean."

Adam Taurus is not abusive

Adam haters really need to stop projecting their issues onto a fictional character.

Adam was a tragic hero who needed some red pill knowledge. In the matriarchal society that is RWBY, Adam did not have any strong, masculine, role models who could have sat him down and told him that women ain't shit. That what Adam needed to do was fight the good fight, and show humans that Faunus are not to be trifled with.

Adam is kinda like Detlaff, the High Vampire from the Witcher 3 DLC; Blood and Wine. In this instance; a man loved a woman, and when that woman took advantage of his love, a white knight simp killed him when he sought justice for that betrayal.

Adam's tale is a Shakespearean tragedy about a Byronic hero who allowed his broken heart to overtake his heroic nature.

Adam Taurus is a cautionary tale for men in a gynocentric world; don't get close to the Amber Turds lest they take a literal shit on your metaphorical bed.

Adam Taurus Is Not Abusive

Adam was abusive. This is blatant in the show, in the subtext, in the intent of the creators…I am seriously scratching my head as to how you are disputing that. There is literally no argument you can make against that without lying or being deliberately ignorant.

Adam was a villain in the show. But did his villainy include abusive treatment of Blake?

This is the RWBY comic:

You have examples of abuse in stories; Cinderella, Harry Potter, and Hunchback of Notre Dame, for example. Did Adam lock Blake in a cupboard, treat Blake like a servant, or had Blake tied up to a block and pelted with fruits and vegetables?

Which was kinda messed up really since the people were eviler than the villain of the story at that moment.

In any case, there are clear examples of abuse in our stories, and Adam's treatment of Blake does not seem to fit these examples.

Like I said: Adam Haters have issues that they project on a fictional character.

Also, would you get pregnant or get a woman pregnant and abort the baby to support pro choice? How many abortions do you need to do to support pro choice?

I dunno how to put this to you, but adoptions and foster care, whatever you may see on tv, naturally save more lives than abortions. Because, you know, you can't adopt a dead baby. Funnily enough.

Also, what has the baby got to do with rape? The baby is innocent of the crime. That's like saying: "to help a rape victim cope, we punish an innocent man as a substitute." Which might be a thing in the future.

If you find that ok, then the issue is a faith thing. You believe that pro choice is the way. I believe pro life is the way. The logic questions are just a means to justify your issues.

All of this fails to show why Adam Taurus is an abusive character. Abuse and abortion are different subjects.

So my point is proven: Adam Taurus haters have issues, and they need to stop projecting their issues on Adam Taurus.

This is because the attack the fans of Adam when all they want is to enjoy a character because:

Like I Said: Adam Haters Have Issues That They Project On A Fictional Character.

Yo, let's keep this convo in good faith, I swear on my behalf I'm not gonna cuss around or lash out.

Let's just do the Adam discourse first and blow off steam before talking about that other shit.

While I do not agree with the terms used within the post, I do agree that Adam lacked a father figure or any healthy masculine figure, leaving him to develop an unhealthy realationship with women whom were all unhealthy in their own ways. The White Fang targeted youths and sought to radicalize disgruntled faunus cause of Siennas sway. Using Adam to rally more troops. (People villianize Adam for stalking and killing civilians which is fair, him being head canoned as a sexist horrible what ever is cringe though.)

Blake's father honestly dropped the ball with them by stepping down as high leader. It's a shame that dynamic was never further explored within the show, especially the dynamic between Adam and Sienna. (Which is disappointing considering she was grooming him.)

I wouldn't say the world of remnant is sexist though, the shows never really touched on that outside of the unselfaware Jaune Milf joke.

Your points are fair and I have no issue with them.

If there is any sexism, it's all headcanon of mine and it has no bearing on what is canonical. You're right that RWBY and Remnant are not sexist, or sexism isn't a major topic in the narrative.

Ultimately, Adam was a villain and the writers were not wrong in writing him as such. While I might not like how Adam was ultimately written, I accept that what happened to Adam, happened.

Taurus-Khan; the Warrior

“Taurus-Khan,” Fennec Albain said as he stopped a few paces behind the Khan, the Warlord of the Faunus tribes, “Taurus-Khan, the Elders of the Tribes await your permission to behold their new Leader.”

Adam Taurus-Khan did not turn around as he said.

“Wait ten minutes, then show the Elders in.”

Fennec had half-turned when Adam said.

“Show the Elders in accordance with the rites. As befits a war council.”

Fennec’s ears, tall and pointed like a Fox on the hunt, twitched slightly as he nodded in response to Adam’s commands. The tail of a red cloak was briefly glimpsed before it followed Fennec out the flaps of the tent, and Adam was left alone in his command tent to ponder the massive map laid out before him. An expanse of marked canvas laid out with huge pins against a board that dominated a wall of Adam’s tent.

The Map detailed Adam’s future, and marked out the path Adam had taken that led up to this moment. A path that Adam considered now, before he faced what fate had in store for him.

***

The coup was flawless. Those who Fennec failed to convert were dispatched by Adam’s loyalists before Adam had arrived to take command. Adam himself entered the Khan’s palace and faced the last of the Khan’s old guards. A dozen hallways Adam filled with blood, more drops to the bucket, more marks on the tally against Adam’s soul.

The last of the Khan’s guards were the best Adam had faced.

Adam’s blade tore out the belly of the first guard in exchange for one of the horns which poked through Adam’s mane of blood-red hair.

The second guard managed to trade two blows and survived that first exchange. Adam then broke that guard’s nose with a vicious headbutt. The guard managed to block Adam’s blade despite the damage and was able to endure the second swing. Adam’s third swing buried his blade in the guard’s shoulder and before the guard could pull a dagger, Adam had dragged his blade across the guard’s throat.

It was a movement so rough that the guard’s head barely stayed attached to its neck. It was a movement so fast that Adam had reached the end of the hallway before the guard’s blood could splash across his black suit.

“The Khan is alone, the day is ours Taurus-Khan.”

Adam turned to stare at the hazy blur crouched on a beam in the hallway’s ceiling. Disapproval was clear in his gaze despite the blank mask that covered the upper half of Adam’s face. At length, Adam turned away, and pushed through the double doors that blocked his path at the end of the hall.

The doors led to a room so sparsely furnished it made the space feel oppressive. Red banners which bore the symbol of the Khan, a red Panther’s head on three red stripes against a white background, were the only decorations in the room. Arranged to draw an intruder’s attention to the throne at the room’s head, which was a heavy couch draped in the skin of a Tiger, a divine animal revered by Adam’s people.

The throne was set on a three-step platform marked at the corners with plain torches. It's only occupant was a woman whose gold, feline eyes watched Adam impassively as he approached the throne with a naked blade.

“The title of ‘Khan’ would bring you nothing worth the blood you have shed,” the woman said as she stepped off the platform to meet Adam, “neither would it justify the war you had started at Beacon Academy with the Humans.”

Adam stopped as the woman got into the range of his blade which was held easily at Adam’s side. Adam then said.

“Sienna-Khan. We justified war with the Humans when they broke their promises, and took wrongfully from our people. Victory would be worth the bloodshed. The title of ‘Khan’ would be my tribute to the example you have set for the White Fang.”

The train of Sienna Khan’s cape rustled across the varnished wooden floor as she folded her arms and said.

“And what example might that be?”

Adam gently raised the tip of his blade and said.

“Strength. Strength and unwavering conviction. You have shown us that Humans only listen when they feel our strength. I will make the lesson permanent, just as you wished.”

“I wished for Humanity to fear the Faunus, to know that we demand respect,” Sienna said, unconcerned with Adam’s blade poised for a Viper’s strike, “but what respect can we earn when we strike from the shadows, with the strength of other Humans instead of our own?”

“It is strength nevertheless,” Adam said with a shrug of his shoulders, “I relish the challenge if there is a better way, a stronger way. Until then, I will fight with everything I have, and with every weapon I can use. That is my strength.”

Sienna-Khan stiffened as she prepared to rebuke Adam further. However, the tone in Adam’s voice made her pause for a moment as she considered what she knew about Adam Taurus. The tip of the White Fang she had raised since birth, whose training she had carefully overseen, save for one indulgence which Sienna had allowed Adam to have for his own.

“You believe Blake will become strong enough?”

Adam’s blade flashed once, and as he pushed through the double doors to let his Loyalists clean up the mess, Adam said.

“I will make sure of it.”

***

The Elders of Adam’s people did not know what to make of the young Khan, but they ignored the insolent manner with which he lounged across the Khan’s throne, and across the table each Elder made their reports on various matters.

Finally, one of the braver amongst the Elders stood and said.

“The Humans seek a response, Taurus-Khan. For your actions at Beacon Academy, for the deaths the White Fang has inflicted under the leadership of your predecessor, and for the deaths that may come as a result of the chaos you have started.”

When Adam, his elbow on an armrest and his chin in his hand, did not reply. The Elder pressed further and said.

“Taurus-Khan, how would you have us respond?”

“War.”

The Elder flinched and sat as Adam stood at the head of the Council table.

“The language of our People is older than the age of Humans. Yet somehow, Humanity’s stubbornness has exhausted the million words we have for ‘peace’.”

Adam removed his mask, basked in the fear of the Elders at his naked face, and said.

“Now we respond with Steel and with Fang. Now we respond with one word; War.”

Adam then replaced his mask and left the tent. In his wake the Elders whispered.

Taurus-Khan the Warrior.

The world of Remnant is centered around 4 women who have all the magic power in the world shared between them.

While the Headmasters are men, Lionheart is subservient to Salem, and Ironwood and Ozpin tend to give way to the female characters in the show.

Coco Adel slapping a guy's ass with impunity.

Cinder also gets abused by women, mostly.

Women in Remnant, unintentionally or not, have more power than men substantially and narratively.

Adam attacked the Belladonnas because they oppose his White Fang. They are also the ex-leaders of the White Fang, so they are legitimate targets to be eliminated to ensure Adam's control.

Adam also didn't personally go after Blake at her home. He sent his three stooges equivalent of assassins and left them to bungle the job. Adam didn't pull a Darth Vader during Obi Wan's show and chased Blake himself across Remnant to kill her.

The creators may say Adam is abusive, but they decided to push bumbleby instead of blacksun because the fans said so. I don't think the creators are impartial as to the status of their narrative, whatever narrative there is.

Ultimately, Adam wasn't abusive. He was a villain, but his list of crimes do not include 'abuse'.

Byronic heroes don't politcally assassinate their enemies? Tell that to William Wallace, Boudica, Robin Hood, Guy Fawkes, the Bakumatsu's four hitokiri. Any good hero should have one or two bodies under their belt.

Jaune hit on Weiss, but he gets treated negatively because of it and never once laid a hand on Weiss.

So what if RT made RWBY? Analysing the subcontext and subconscious intent of their work is what literature class is all about. Oh no, Bram Stoker made Dracula, better tell that to the director who made Van Helsing a monster hunter played by Hugh Jackman shooting a machine gun crossbow at Vampires. Just because RT created a media, the audience is not disallowed from drawing their own conclusions from what was shown.

Oh no, a villain threatens to destroy everything another character loves. So the Kingpin is abusive to Daredevil because he threatens Matt's friends, the Green Goblin is abusive to Peter Parker because he killed Gwen Stacy, but Cinderella? Forced to slave for her stepmother and is unable to escape slavery due to being dependent on the only adult in her life? Sorry, not abusive since Cinderella's stepmom did not threaten to hurt Cinderella's friends. Because Cinderella has no friends. Because Cinderella is forced into slavery by her own guardian, but that is not abuse.

Being abusive isn't simply hurting someone. Otherwise, every villain in every story would be considered 'abusive' just because he is being a villain. The Alien kills Ripley's crewmates, is the Alien a abuser?

Abuse is when a character subjects another character to harm over a long period of time, and the abused character can't avoid the harm because the abused character is wholly dependent on the abuser. Being abusive is not dependent on villainy, even. Turning Red's mother is abusive, some might say, but she is not villainous.

Blake always had freedom from Adam. Blake was never dependent on Adam. Blake is an independent thinker who isn't oppressed by Adam. Blake has always acted on her own initiative against the White Fang, and Adam was never an issue for Blake until they met in v3. After which, Blake and Adam became enemies.

Was Adam a persistent and vindictive enemy? Yes. But the shark from jaws was persistent, Moriarty from sherlock holmes is vindictive. Are Moriarty and Bruce both abusers to the heroes in their stories?

Adam is not abusive. He is an enemy of Blake's with a personal grudge, but that is what all enemies are.

Adam Taurus is not abusive

'Abuse Is Maltreatment Of A Physical, Emotional, And Financial, Toward One They Have A Close Relationship

Abuse?

"Adam is abusive because he is motivated to hurt Blake because Blake left him."

"Adam is abusive because Blake left their romantic relationship and wants revenge."

Adam is abusive because he is motivated by revenge? That wouldn't fly, you need action and intent. We have intent, but what is Adam's action?

Adam ordered the assassination of his political enemies, and Blake. Is that enough to be considered abuse? Can't be. Otherwise, every villain is going to be considered an abuser to their enemy just because they try to kill them every other Thursday.

But if that is considered abuse, then the term abuse is meaningless because any act of violence can be considered the abuse of 'characters in a close relationship'. In which case, like I said in my OP, people need to stop projecting their issues on Adam treating Blake as an enemy.

But if we look at abuse as depicted in stories, or in RWBY, Adam's actions don't reflect the actions or characteristics of recognizable, abusive characters. Cinder Fall's stepmom being an example.

Ultimately, Adam isn't abusive because his relationship with Blake are, at best arch-enemies, based on how abusive relationships are shown in RWBY.

Second, if we are going to ignore that Adam's relationship with Blake does not reflect the characteristics of an abusive relationship, then any act of violence between characters is abusive. Therefore, abuse becomes a matter of perception. So people should just stop projecting their issues onto Adam, and Adam will no longer be abusive.

Adam Taurus is not abusive

But Cinder's stepmom and Adam's actions ARE different.

Adam did not make Blake do chores, Adam didn't have a shock collar on Blake's neck, Blake isn't even financially dependent on Adam. How are the Madame, and Adam, the same?

The Madame treated Cinder like a slave and servant, Adam treated Blake as a comrade, and then as an enemy. How are Adam and the Madame the same?

Madame's actions are representative of an abusive relationship in RWBY, my point is that Adam's relationship DOES NOT show the same charateristics. To some extent, Jacques's relationship with Weiss doesn't reflect Madame's relationship with Cinder, either.

Ultimately THIS point isn't countered, the point being Adam's relationship with Blake is different from Madame's relationship with Cinder.

Sure, Adam wants Blake alive and brought before him, but enemies in narratives do that.

Destroy everything you love? Enemies do that too.

Also, Yang attacked Adam first mind you, and why didn't Adam just kill Yang on the spot? Yang and Blake were defenseless right then and there.

You addressed my examples, but the examples illustrate this point which you haven't yet addressed: Adam is not the same as the Madame, since the Madame is the example of an abuser in RWBY. Heck Adam's relationship with Blake isn't even like Jacques's with Weiss.

Sure, I may not be able to budge you. But who cares what you think? My judges are those who support my post and reblogs it with support and positivity.

I mean, if your friend who argues better can't budge you? I think it reflects more on your stubborness than any issue with my substantial argument.

If you read the RWBY comic you'd see that Blake joined White Fang of her own free will, and because she was attracted to Adam.

Adam always had Blake's back whenever they fought together. Both in the comics and the black trailer.

Of course Adam is going to kill Blake, that is what enemies do. Blake opposes Adam, Adam is going to do whatever it takes to fight for the Faunus, someone was going to die. It is that kind of conflict.

Incidentally, Cinder Fall's stepmom didn't try to kill Cinder even though she is abusive.

The points about Adam's actions and motivations are addressed in the OP. Adam screwed up because of his feelings for Blake. It is what makes Adam the tragic character. He had the plan and the charisma, but his feelings for Blake got in the way.

However, none of these actions and motivations are that of an abuser. Adam and Blake are merely enemies, and Adam's actions reflect the actions an enemy, or villain, would take. Adam's motivations don't honestly matter because his fight for Faunus rights are separate from his feelings for Blake. That's why he sent his goon squad after the Belladonnas while he went to Haven.

The cause and effect don't work because Adam's feelings for Blake does not affect his actions when leading the White Fang. Blake is just a bonus for Adam.

All of what you said makes Adam the villain. But you can be a villain without being an abuser.

Abusive behaviour and being a villain is not mutally inclusive. A villain isn't always an abuser, and in RWBY Adam is not an abuser. He is a villain, but not abusive.

RWBY fans can project onto Adam, but they can't force others to join Abuse Bingo night every Thursday.

This is going to open up a can of noodles I don't want to open on this thread because its getting longer than the Lambton Worm after a week long binge on viagra.

If you want to continue this point, I would request you do an ask or something. Sorry.

But I will say tho, if the action of scarring someone is akin to abuse, Ruby would be an abuser for what she did to Tyrian.

Yeah Naw, Tyrian is a straight up pycho who wanted to kill everyone there, most ruby did was "damage cause I have no mental concept of killing another thing that ain't a Grimm" it's akin to stabbing someone to get them off of you or someone else, sure it could kill them but it's mainly done to stop them from doing the thing, kinda smart storywise

Hell, only reason why the hero's got the dub was because qrow showed up and he got poisoned and gashed

But Adam? Adam has killed, so much so that the act doesn't even phase him, fucker enjoys it

Exactly, Ruby isn't an abuser because of the context of her actions.

Similarly, the context of Adam's actions is hardly that of an abuser.

We see in the comics that Adam never was abusive to Blake. Adam was honest with Blake.

In the black trailer, Adam was never abusive to Blake and treated her with respect.

From the Black Trailer, Adam was set up to be a Villain, so it was a matter of how Adam was going to act as a villain when he reappeared.

RT made Adam weird. Fair. But once again, Adam was already a villain, and he acted accordingly as a villain to Blake, and Yang.

From the context, Adam has never abused Blake before v3. After v3, Adam's acted like any enemy would and Blake responded accordingly.

Blake and Adam were close friends turned enemies. There was no abuse before, and no abuse after.

Adam isn't abusive.

What REALLY happened the night Beacon fell ...

But as the fire's feast reached his climax, Adam saw the image of a woman. With the hair of the abyss, dressed in the fire's iridescence, and ambition's emptiness in gold for her eyes. A reminder. To feed the fire, or be consumed by it.

Know your place, Adam Taurus.

A presence. Familiar. A shadow turned to steel. Followed by a slash from Adam's blind side to his left. As she was taught. A cut that would expose the throat of a lesser opponent when he flinches.

But Adam was a Faunus, and Faunus do not flinch.

Like a bull Adam turned his horns into the cut.

A little taller then Adam remembered. The raw edge of youth, rounded by a maturity which created the feeling of innocence tempered with a wisdom that Adam could not give.

Dragging his sword from the flames, Adam then kicked Blake away and shoved the gleaming blade onto the cuts on this 'Yang's' arm.
