Summary: Ryan gets hold of a Crystal ball. Being curious and having listened to maybe a few too many podcasts, he decides to stare into it. Unfortunately for him, it isn’t a normal crystal ball. He is dragged into scenes where he sees one of his campmates and friends die a gruesome death. Terrified but determined, he continues to come back, looking for clues. Anything that might help him stop it from happening and save his friends.

I'm really tired of people calling the "kiss Kaitlyn" option "the straight option." Ryan is a bi man, kissing a woman does not make him straight. Bisexual people are bisexual. Bisexuality does not turn into heterosexuality the second they engage with the opposite sex. The fuck.
⚠️⚠️The Quarry Spoilers⚠️⚠️
Anyone else feel like the character dialogue choices in the quarry are just really underwhelming? I absolutely love the game so I’m nitpicking here but I feel like they’re all just superficial.
Like when I first saw “The group is getting tired of Ryan”, after I kept protesting about having the party, I thought it’d have some kind of impact, or change the story in some way, instead no one really cares and the story moves on. I feel like it’s a missed opportunity to add some depth to the game and include real consequences.
Perhaps an overly kind and loving Abi is unwilling to pull the trigger when facing Nick, and gets herself killed because of it? Or maybe a less ruthless Ryan can’t bring himself to chop off Dylan’s arm? It could be a good way to make the little decisions feel like they carry a lot of weight instead of just being superficial throwaway choices that don’t change anything. I know that not every choice can have meaning, but for a game where 2 choices made at opposite ends of the game can determine whether two characters live or die, I expected a little bit more.
I’m aware some choices do, being honest to Travis in the prologue, Jacob confessing to Emma in chapter 10, etc, but overall they just feel meaningless.
But I don’t know, I am writing this on sub 3 hour sleep, so if I come back tmrw and go “what the fuck was I talking about?” I may Js delete this, so if you completely disagree you’re probably right
One thing the quarry got perfect, and imo the best part of the whole game, is how realistic the dialogue is.
Like this is a group of teenagers stuck alone in the woods, and the dialogue is just ✨perfect✨. For anyone who hasn’t had the joy of playing the game, this is actually one of the conversations:
Dylan: *Random dialogue*, Swarm of bears, *Random dialogue*
Ryan: A swarm of bears?
Dylan: Yeah? A swarm of bears
Ryan: A herd of bears
Dylan: Yeah I’ve heard of bears …?
It’s so perfectly spot on with the ridiculous stupidity it’s like my favourite thing in the whole game
