Welcome again to my little October Drawtober!đ
No themes, no lists, no following other peopleâs rules. Just me drawing some ghosts, folklore creatures, cryptids! Iâm hoping to make about fifteen drawings this year, but I also want to give myself room to make less or more
Just grabbing a little bite for a night ride out with some friendsđŚ
This piece has three inspiration points:
đ Vampira said that in her youth she saw Bela Lugosi (of the early film era Dracula fame) riding roller skates in Hollywood, claiming that he couldnât drive so thatâs how he got around
đ Skating has been so popular for the last year or two so I see people skating it everywhere
đThat one episode of What We Do in the Shadows where Nandor joins a cult and everyone dresses like they are from the 80âs
Follow my Patreon at the Amber Swan or higher tier to see more of my Drawtobers early! Join at the Cerise Swan tier and get one of the Drawtobers sent to you as a mini print for this monthâs reward!

Conquest, War, Famine, and Death all together
Thank you all for a good Drawtober run, these four were my last for this year if I didnât mention that already. I really hope you enjoyed what I created as much as I enjoyed making them all
And since people keep asking: Pestilence and Conquest are interchangeable with Pestilence being more popular (if I am correct) in more recent depictions. For example âFour Horsemen of the Apocalypseâ an 1887 painting by Viktor Vasnetsov features Conquest instead of Pestilence

You asked and after a few shipping issues the Four Horsewomen of the Apocalypse is restocked as both stickers and mini prints at my shop which you can find here đwww.etsy.com/shop/samanthamashđ
While I am thrilled that so many folks liked these four this will be the absolute last reprint of these, once they are gone they are gone so please grab up whatever you want now because they wonât be back

So if you know me being in Dream Destinations for Galleru Nucleus was always a, well, dream of mine! A huge thanks as always to Nicki France for inviting me and always being the best curator a girl can work with! I chose to draw Bambi and his mother in what would maybe be a happier time in their lives together, during the first summer of his youth
So, I was very inspired within this piece by Tyrus Wong, Eyvind Earle, and WPA posters from the 30s/40s.
Wong did a ton of concept work and backgrounds for Bambi and I wanted to bring in his sense of color and mood in this piece. I was actually looked to the color palette at the end of the film with all of its warm tones and tried to bring some of that into the illustration. Additionally the softness that Wong created in concept work is something I know my art doesnât really elicit, but I still wanted to see if I could bring that energy to this
Earle did not work on the film, but he did work the Disney film Sleeping Beauty and because of that I have always associated him with earlier Disney films (even if he had nothing to do with them). His sense of shape and nature is unparalleled and when I went into this I was really inspired by his ability to stack trees so to speak and wanted to attempt that look within my voice and style while paying that homage to him being such a presence in my mind with Disney
And last, WPA posters quite obviously were something I looked to when attempting this piece in their shapes and flat tones. The WPA posters are maybe most famous for the national parks series that so many of us have looked at an enjoyed after all. Those posters in particular, I believe, were done by Chester Don Powellâbut please let me know if I am mistaken!
Prints will be available starting on Sunday! The original framed piece that is hung at the gallery is for sale though in person and will also be available online starting on Sunday. Check in with the Gallery Nucleus site to not only get this piece but the works of so many others. The exhibition can be seen in person starting tonight at 5PM at Nucleus in Alhambra, California through January 1st!

These are available as prints through the Gallery Nucleus site! This show was done in association with the Disney itself, so these prints are officially Disney approved. In fact these prints are limited editions print releases (there are 100 prints I believe) from Disney Fine Art print! If youâre interested in picking one up head over to the Gallery Nucleus site or go to www.gallerynucleus.com/detail/35965 My original piece that is already framed and signed is also still for sale if youâre interested in that you can find it at the Gallery Nucleus site or by going here www.gallerynucleus.com/detail/35610

Happy International Womenâs DayÂ
Prints of this are for sale at my Inprnt and Etsy and stickers are available at my Etsy too if you are interested!
So much has changed in the world since I last drew this, which wasnât even that long ago, and yet nothing has. Women are still a vulnerable in our society physically, financially, and more. We are nowhere near accomplishing the wish for peace, equality, and safety for all that I put into the last version. On top of that there is a current loud and amplified hate for any womanhood that falls outside of the cis ânormâ so that is top of mind for me too now. We canât just support cis women and watch as trans women are harmed over and over. Like mentioned my original piece was about hopefully finding a day in the future where all women can live without fear of harm or discrimination simply based on their gender, and this is still true with a emphasis on ALL women
I hope again for all my friends and family, and all the people who see this piece and beyond that we one day live in a world that is so much safer, accepting, and loving

After a while of figuring out the logistics of it, I have a new tier for my Patreon! The Onyx Swan tier!Â
âwww.patreon.com/samanthamashâ
This tier offers both a monthly mini print and a monthly sticker for 14 USD a month (no shipping fee). This is a savings of about 7 USD nationally and 9 USD if you live internationally compared to if you bought a mini print and sticker from my shop! Additionally the support given by patrons helps me continue on my art career without as much fear or need to only work with clients. It gives me space to also explore my personal work!
What else do you get at this tier? Your physical reward is one vinyl Onyx Swan tier sticker along with the monthly mini print and sticker. Of course you get access to Cerise, Blush Swan, Amber Swan, and Pearl Swan tier rewards as well (minus the specific tier stickers)
There are fun rewards at every tier (like my Art Blog where I discuss in the ins and outs of having a illustration career, Q + As, color palettes that are free to use, behind the scenes stuff with my art, sketches, and more!)Â though and Iâd suggest checking out the other tiers as even the 1 USD tier helps my work out more than you can imagine
I always let my patrons know when I have sent out their rewards and I work hard to make sure every monthâs mini print is special whether it is just a full audience release or a Patreon exclusive mini print. If youâre interested check out my Patreon page and learn more about this tier and others! You are free to stay or leave whenever, though I will point out you get 15% off a full year if you pledge upfront for that time!

The third Harpy from the flock that flies among the stars has landed! She is probably going to be the last of this particular set, but of course not the last Harpy I will ever draw, I love them too much!

This is a remake in a color palette that was more in line with what I lean into these days with my illustrations. I have always enjoyed this piece. The original was made right after some big changes happened in my life, and I feel like I am cusp of more shifts in my pathđź

Autumn is officially heređ
