Picnic Naps
pairing: boyfriend!jake x reader
on a warm weekend evening things seemed to slow down as you and your boyfriend were on a picnic. as you both finish up the assortment of fruits and the ice in your coffees starting to melt, moving onto desert was a small cake laid out for you both.
after a long day of outings with jake, and the sun setting beautifully, the day slowly comes to an end as you sit looking back at what you did that day. giggles emanating from jake as he kisses your hands, running to catch the bus on the way to the fair, sharing treats and bickering on who gets the bigger piece, and the flickering of instant cameras. undeniably, the day was well-spent as you guys finished it up lazily at a park.
“jake” you called out for your boyfriend as he is well concentrated on the book you have been into lately. his eyebrows furrowed in concentration, hand behind his head sitting comfortably against the tree, and lips slightly pouted. as he didn’t seem to hear you, your second best option was to give him a little affection to receive it back.
you positioned yourself comfortably enough to where your lips were now inches away from jake’s forehead to kiss away the wrinkle in between his eyebrows.
jake watched, waiting for the soft skin of your lips to reach his face. as they did, you looked down to find jake peering up at you and leaning forward to kiss your own.
as jake’s affection started to grow, a tickle fight began between the two of you. when you reached your goal of jake finally setting the book down, you now both ended up panting and breathless on your backs.
after a while of just calming yourselves down, jake made his way on top of you. making sure to put his whole body weight on you and arms around your body so you don’t push him off. (not that you will anyways)
staying that way and having small, meaningful conversations with your boyfriend. jake could tell that you were slowly dozing off as your responses got shorter and your excitement dying down.
both of you laying in now complete silence with only the last of the birds chirps and the wind in the leaves of the tree you were under being the last thing you guys head before both of you fall asleep.
waking up, the sun had set already and the street lights beginning to turn on. jake gets up groggily and unwillingly let’s you go so you could pack and make your way to the bus stop again.
what really woke you up was the running that you had to do if you wanted to catch the bus on time. running hand in hand with jake is just one of the many memories you have made with him on this day.
