In case anyone isn't up to date with #FixTF2 and the issues the protest is focusing on, here is a comprehensive document you can read.
It has the personal testimony of one of the bothosters' victims who was swatted, MegaScatterBomb, a guy who is working on an anticheat to use in casual mode.
The bothosters and their lackeys have committed and condoned crimes that hurt people IRL, while scamming desperate players with "bot immunity" and spamming links that they brag about containing CP. They customize their Objectors to have gore on them. They have tried to funnel the anger of the playerbase on innocent, uninvolved parties and impersonated a number of TF2 players to divert attention away from the real bothosters. Recently they tried to take down the save.tf site by unlawfully impersonating Valve in order to file a DMCA.
They are allowed to conduct this sort of behavior with no consequences while Valve is still making money off the game.
#FixTF2 is not asking for more content, they are asking for security measures. People are getting doxxed just for critiquing bothosters. TF2 isn't the only game on Steam which suffers from lack of proper regulation, either. If people are supposed to spend money on your product, this product should work properly and you shouldn't be risking your personal information just from using it!
Please sign the petition on save.tf (they are aiming for 300k signatures) and spread word of #FixTF2. As a regular player and a big fan of the game, I think this is worth trying rather than just rolling over. Valve profits from this mess, refusing to openly communicate with the playerbase, fix their game nor simply shut it down. Let them know this is unacceptable.
To keep up with the developments and to know more, a good account to follow on twitter is the guy who called the fandom to action in the first place this year, Weezy. He has a youtube too, with informative videos on the matter. Shork is likewise updating on the situation.
Y'know... I really want to start playing TF2
But with this bot problem, I'm scared to even look for the game on steam.
I don't want to start the game just to get sniped by a bot in 0.2 seconds.
ALSO. The bot hosters doxx, threaten, impersonate, and slander people who expose them. THIS IS DISGUSTING AND ABSOLUTELY IRREDEEMABLE.
THIS NEEDS TO END. NOW.

The bot hosters also keep trying to take down the site. That makes this petition ALL THE MORE NECESSARY.
I doubt Valve would even dare look at this post, but in the very small chance they do, TAKE NOTE. WE WILL NOT BE COMPLIANT.

If you haven't played, I would seriously recommend, but first, we need to fix it. The bot problem has gone on for too long, and Valve needs to recognize it. Post #FixTF2, and highlight the bot problem, you can help

Small update on the #FixTF2 situation.
Some good news! It seems as if quite a few bots have had their accounts banned/suspended, and while Valve has made no announcement, this has positively impacted the casual experience. There are still bots, but last I checked there were a significantly less amount of them, and many other players have noticed the same.
This obviously does not mean that Valve is done fixing the game. They did something similar when #SaveTF2 was ongoing, so do not assume this is over! Until such a time as when we are sure Valve is going to do proper upkeep of the game, DO NOT SPEND MONEY! Not on keys, not on community market purchases, not on any emotes whatsoever! Go through with the boycott!

One of the best games I have ever played, and undoubtedly a community that I am proud to be a part of.
I was first introduced to TF2 by my brother, who, at the time, played it nonstop. This was over 5 years ago by now.
I remember he was the spy. I asked him why his character’s hand looked weird. He told me about the classes and their abilities, and even if I didn’t know it then, I was hooked.
TF2’s community back when I began to play brought me a great mix a joy and pain. I felt joyous that I made friends, but I somehow always managed to meet the wrong people. I joined toxic groups, I got bullied, etc..
So you have no idea how much it warms my heart that the community is coming together to partake in this protest.
There is more love in the community than ever before. The kindness I’ve been shown in-game never fails to melt my heart ❤️ My favourite part of the game would have to be the Friendlies. The fact that we can all get together, have fun, joke around with bugs and exploits in the game.. It’s amazing! I love that I get to make new friends, and that I’m able to introduce others to this amazing game. I never get bored of it — It feels like every match is a whole new experience, yet familiar all the same.
The bots, however, are beginning to taint that. It’s high time they address this issue again. The official Tf2 account has responded on Twitter to this protest, and I’m very excited to get an update on where they go from here!
Please, if you can, share your story with Tf2. Help save the community. Help save the game.

My favorite thing in TF2 will always be using at least one bad or unconventional weapon un every loadout. I'm playing pyro? Dragon's fury, The Manmelter, and Powerjack. Soldier? I'm using the Reserve Shooter all the way. And I will ALWAYS be using the Shortstop on Scout. Always.
Sniper mains are still kicking but we need to get rid of the bots asap RAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

We want to apologize for the period of inactivity. We did not publish anything since the main amdin presented psychological difficulties, but, we are back.
It's been a while since our last post. However, we have not been able to collect much information but we have something that will surely interest you.
Many would think that hackers and people who hire bots like to remain incognito, however, we found a YouTube Video which took us to an account of a person whose sole purpose is to ruin games from tf2.
The account is called "rosne gaming" and has a total of 55 videos, as well as a Discord server and 15 lives.
We ask you please not to use this information in a bad way. However, this YouTube account has more than one tutorial, explaining how to hire bot services. Lately we have been reviewing and monitoring tf2 games, and we noticed that the tricks that this user affects are usually tfort, and hightower.
Below we attach screenshots.
We ask that you please report this account, and if possible, make sure to expel, pop songs that you see from all the servers, these bots hired by this user usually join, they have a link with the name of their channel, so remember to report them.
