A short fanfic / drabble bc it’s past my bedtime but I can’t sleep! Hooray!
“I’m telling you, Cyke, you’re colorblind.” Jubilee said, unable to stop herself from smiling in a rather cheeky way.
Scott frowned deeper, his brow furrowed as he crossed his arms over his chest, his glasses not hiding the fact that he was almost glaring down at the mug sitting on the coffee table in front of him.
“… Jean? Jean, my darling, can you come here a minute?”
“Don’t waste her time, dork! You’re colorblind, accept it and move on.” Jubilee insists, a nagging sense of annoyance in her tone.
He doesn’t give her the satisfaction of answering, instead letting out a tense sigh and picking up the mug from the table, squinting at it behind his ruby glasses.
“I’m not colorblind. This mug is… it’s blue. I know that as a fact because I can see that it’s blue.”
The younger mutant merely rolls her eyes halfheartedly, deciding she didn’t want to waste time trying to get Scott to change his mind.
Jean now enters the room, a curious and slightly concerned look on her face as she steps next to Scott, one hand sliding over his back to softly grip the side of his shoulder.
“You called, dear?”
“Jubilee is convinced that I’m colorblind. What color is this mug?”
“The mug you’re holding isn’t blue, Scott…” Jean says gently, able to tell what his guess had been without using her powers. “It’s actually gray. I’m surprised you didn’t know that.”
A small laugh from Jubilee. “I’m surprised he’s being so hardheaded about being colorblind.” She says, smiling in a mischievous way.
“Jubilee, quit it.”
“Oh Scott, it’s alright. She’s not trying to be mean.”
“Yeah? Well she’s getting on my nerves…”
Jubilee sticks her tongue out at him and blows a raspberry, a playfully grin on her face as she waves goodbye to Jean and her husband, now leaving the kitchen.
