You know, rewatching iCarly (2007) it's been fun and all but season 5 is such a weird season.

Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of good episodes, but the way they handle Sam and Freddie is super weird.

In previous seasons they built up the ship quite a bit to the point that, of course, they had to date at some point. But once they were together, it's almost like they wanted to sabotage it.

In all the episodes of Seddie dating, they were always from someone else's point of view. We never saw them alone until the breakup scene, and when we finally got it, we saw how good they were together. They didn't need Carly there or any distraction; they could just be themselves. It's those small moments that made their dynamic enjoyable.

I saw that the writers broke them up so they could go back to the status quo, but watching the rest of the season, they kept pairing the two of them up. They could have had them keep dating while keeping things the same.

In the episode where Carly is in Yakma with her granddad, and Freddie has to host with Sam, they could have done so much with it. Her trying to cheer him up...that was something she wouldn't have done the season before.

Basically...I think that's my least favorite season, despite the fact Seddie is my first OTP. I hate how they handled them dating. I didn't like it at the time, and I don't like it now. I like to think if the show continued or if Jennette wanted to be a part of the new show, they would have been endgame...but I guess the world will never know.

In the meantime....someone gimmie Seddie fanfics. It's been forever since I deep-dived in them. xD
