daenerys’ character is so huge that i feel like i need at least two hearts to keep all my love for her. she’s a scared little girl. she’s the last targaryen princess in exile. she’s a little sister to the ‘beggar king’ and his heir. she’s a child bride and an abuse survivor. she’s a khaleesi, a consort to the great khal. she’s a ‘dreamer’, she sees prophetic dragon dreams. she’s a protector, she takes care of the weak. she’s a young mother who lost her child. she’s the mother of dragons, who hatched them for the first time in 173 years by walking into fire. she’s an abolitionist. she’s a conqueror. she’s a humorous, soft, giggly girl with a sharp mind and wit. she’s the mother to the people she freed. she’s a military strategist and commander. she’s a polyglot and a book worm. she’s self aware and too hard on herself. she’s a politician, a diplomat and a ruling queen. she’s a dragon rider. she enjoys nature and horse-riding. she talks back to men. she’s in love, she’s sensual and owns her sexuality. she’s intelligent, cunning and a quick learner. she’s generous and compassionate. she has a dragon temper. she’s a prophesied hero and i love her so much ♥️
The most compelling thing about daenerys targaryen to me really is that she is the very last one of them. No restoration no encores the prince the targaryens destroyed themselves promising is a little girl who cannot look back so the only home she can return to is the one she makes out of the world for everyone else with nothing to return to. That’s everything…
You know what I really love about Dany?
Despite her birth, her childhood was exceedingly underprivileged. She knew hunger, and cold, and how to sleep in the streets with only her brother’s body next to her to keep her warm. She’s seen the abuses others suffer, has suffered many of them herself. She lived most of her childhood running from city to city in fear of her life.
And she gets that. She recognizes that no one’s going to bat an eyelash at the stranger starving in the gutter. She realizes that nothing in life is free. Easy breaks are as rare as rain in the desert.
It’s bred into her a unique sort of humility that’s rare in the other key players of her station. She can take care of herself when she has to because she knows she can’t expect complete strangers to do it for her. And more, she’s willing to take care of the decent people around her because she knows what it’s like to be alone and have nothing.

People always talk about Taylor’s songwriting ability, but they never talk about her ability to make people feel like they belong. I feel like this should be discussed more. She has this beautiful way of making people feel safe and loved. I hope she knows that this is her most important talent and I love her for it.
