I just want to take a second to talk about Rand Paul’s choice of words here. He doesn’t say “Sunnis have been fighting with Shia” or “Sunnis and Shia have been killing each other.” He says “Sunnis have been killing Shia”
And he doesn’t call it “The Battle of Karbala” but “The Massacre at Karbala.”
Rand Paul, the junior senator from Kentucky, isn’t just informed on the history of the Islamic Sectarianism, he’s apparently taken a side.
