The VIRTUAL SINGERS and Nightcord at 25 ( minus Ena ) were talking in the sekai, planning for Ena's birthday. Though Mafuyu wasn't much of a help, she did bring up the thought about making individual paintings, dedicated to Ena, thanking her for all her hardwork and wishing her a happy birthday.
The vocaloids ( especially LUKA ) , had wanted to join in on this happy event, so extra canvases, paint, paintbrushes, and food for a picnic were brought to the sekai early on.
It took a few hours, but a banner had been made for Ena, and 8 pieces of artwork were arranged on a large blanket ( composed of many small ones ) neatly, and the girls left the sekai, ready to join the call with Ena and surprise her.
"Happy birthday, Enanan!"
"Happy birthday, Ena."
"Happy birthday."
"Thanks everyone! ✰"
"Could you follow us to the sekai?"
"The sekai? Wh-"
"Yah! Dont question it, okay?"
"We'll see you there."
Within a few minutes, Ena had clicked on the file, and as soon as the light cleared from her eyes, she saw a banner, food, a picnic, the happy birthday song ringing in her ears, and so many happy faces welcoming her.
She quickly thanked them and admired all the artwork that was made, and everyone enjoying a memorable picnic full of jokes and laughter.
Ena went to bed that night feeling overjoyed at the thought of going over everything today, until she checked her phone to see Akito had posted embarrassing photos of her with the caption "happy birthday to the weirdest older sister ever".
She's never headed to his room so quick.

shizuku was completely exhausted, to say the least.
she couldn’t bear the feeling of losing you and having to start over every time. having to turn the both of you into strangers again. her loving you with all her heart, and you not even knowing who she is.
even shiho, who’s not the closest to her sister, notices her sudden mood drop, yet, uncertain of what could be troubling her, she decides not to ask.
whenever shizuku sees you for the ‘first time’ again, she wishes she could tell you what to do to avoid your death, but she couldn’t — that would only make things worse, and she’s very well aware of that.
as much as it pains her, she can only do small things to try to change the future, for now.
“I promise you, one day, it’ll be over. And when that day comes, I can finally spend my so-desired time with you.”

what was honami doing wrong?
she did everything, everything, to avoid that terrible fate. but it couldn’t be helped — it would still happen, no matter how much she tried.
she gave her all, she devoted herself to saving you. she was trying her best, her all, to keep you safe and alive. apparently, it wasn’t good enough. it was never good enough. every time, you’d end up dying in her arms. over and over.
whenever she sees you for the ‘first time’, she feels her heart ache. knowing that she’ll have to go through everything again and again, only for a false image of hope that maybe, maybe she could save you.
she never had the chance to tell you the words she was dying to say. even in your last moments, she couldn’t bring herself to say it. ever since the first tragedy, you’ve never heard the words ‘I love you’ from her ever again.
“Once I can finally let my guard down, then I’ll allow myself to soften at your touch. I love you. Even if I’m not ready to say it, I hope you know that.”

as much as he wanted to, rui couldn’t give up. not yet. not until he saved you.
why him? why you? why you both had to be disturbed in such a manner?
in the beginning, he thought himself to be really lucky, to have the opportunity of being with you one more time. but as more time passed, he started to believe this was not a blessing — but instead a curse.
waking up, knowing that he’d try his all to save you but being aware that it all would go to waste, was extremely exhausting.
whenever he saw you for the ‘first time’, he could feel himself relaxing at the thought of being together with you again. having your hands run through his hair, having you laugh at his cringey pick-up lines... he yearned for that, even if he knew he couldn’t have it, at least not at that time.
he watched you die over and over. eventually, death was not a new concept to him. but every time, even knowing it wasn’t the first time and it wouldn’t be the last, watching your lifeless body always gave him a feeling of despair.
you always called him a genius, then, why? why couldn’t he come up with a brilliant plan, as you’d say, to save you? why couldn’t he save the one person who stood by him at all times?

this wasn’t fair. this wasn’t fair at all. why did they have to take you — ena’s favorite person?
she’d give 110% of her to keep you, even knowing that she couldn’t be with you, knowing that you’d die again, she still chased after your life as if it’d be the last thing she’ll ever do.
sometimes, she couldn’t help but being irritated. if only she didn’t love you, this wouldn’t be happening to her. she was very well-aware that this was one selfish thought, but she thought about it every now and then. despite being mad, she could never say that she regretted loving you.
whenever she saw you for the ‘first time’, she knew it was important to keep her distance, for your safety. despite that, she glanced at you quite often, fighting the urge to go after you.
having to be emotionally distant from you frustrated her. she watched you talk to a lot of people throughout the day, knowing that she wouldn’t be one of them. after all, you were still her significant other, even if you didn’t know it.
“Why won’t you simply stay?! Damn it... I want you to be safe, be alive, be mine! And I’ll make sure it happens, even if it takes a hundred... no, a thousand times.”

the only thing toya wished for was for it to be over.
it was extremely tiring. he’d never do something that pains him, but he couldn’t give up on you just yet. even if he has to go through the same feeling of emptiness every time, he’s willing to do it, if it means saving you.
not only that, but even his bandmates notice his sudden lack of motivation. every time, akito confronted him about that, but he never answered. he couldn’t tell him the truth, he’d never believe it. it was awful to avoid his best friend, but he couldn’t help it, rescuing you was his top priority.
whenever he saw you for the ‘first time’, you merely looking at him already made his heart flutter, as if it were before the tragedy. he loved to see you so... lively. yet, he knew he shouldn’t let his guard down, as he was already aware of what would happen.
he tried his best to keep you away from danger, directly or indirectly, but none of his actions seemed to help. in the end, he always held your lifeless body, never having the chance to confess his undying love for you once more.
“I’ll do everything for things to go back as they used to be. Even if it takes thousands of times, I won’t give up, not until I make sure you’re safe.”

my favorite headcanon is that akito is a very physically affectionate guy. it’s just second nature to him! but he also likes maintaining that sort of Tough Guy persona so if anyone ever points out his cuddly habits he gets really really really really really embarrassed. and denies it
but like. he’s a hugger! hugs are hellos and goodbyes to him. he likes throwing an arm around a friend’s shoulders while they walk together. he’s the type to grab someone’s hand to lead them somewhere and then just not let go. and he has a tendency to lean on people. like toya will just be standing there and then suddenly he’ll have to support half of akito’s weight because he came up behind him and pressed himself against his back and has his chin on his shoulder now
he also tends to gravitate towards kohane and start fussing with her hair because her pigtails get messy!! lots of fly aways and hat hair! vbs will be in the middle of planning a show and akito will just have kohane half pulled into his lap so he can fix her hair. he’s not paying attention <3
and if someone sits next to him for a prolonged period of time he Will end up either draping his legs across their lap or he’ll lay down and rest his head on their lap and maybe even fall asleep. for the latter though he has to be really comfortable with the person, so he usually only does it with vbs (kohane and toya end up with lap-napping-akitos more often than an does, but it’s happened and will happen again in the future) And mizuki
akito is always the little spoon. 100%. this is a guy who likes to be held. he usually has a hard time falling asleep but if someone holds him or ^ again if he’s laying on their lap and they play with his hair a little he’s out like a light.
when toya first started sleeping over at the shinonomes’ house he and akito would fall asleep on opposite sides of the bed, but he would wake up to akito curled up by his side and/or clinging to one of his arms. he didn’t mind, but the first 2 times akito woke up and found himself so close to toya he freaked out and fell out of the bed. after the second time and learning that toya really didn’t mind, akito relaxed and also started being more freely affectionate with him in general.
sleepytime cuddles are not a toya-exclusive thing. more than once during vbs sleepovers at an’s place (i imagine they all drag out a few futons and pile them with blankets and pass out sprawled all over each other) he’s ended up tucked in kohane’s arms. this one is funny because kohane is tiny but in his sleep akito will curl up so he fits perfectly in her arms
on the other hand an is a VERY messy sleeper but he’ll curl up as best as he can. one time he woke up like folded over her stomach because of how she flopped around during the night
he’s affectionate with ena too!!!! when he was little he clung to her and until he got taller, ena would carry him around. like a lot. he was all about being carried. nowadays since things are awkward and difficult (but getting better!!) it manifests more as akito letting ena take him by the arm and (literally) drag him wherever. they’re getting back into the habit of hugs, and akito will lean down to let ena kiss his forehead if she wants
and speaking of siblings: akito is soooo playful and affectionate with rin and len. when he visits the sekai they both tackle hug him and he’ll laugh and hug them and swing them around and give them noogies and mess up their hair.. he lets them use him as their personal jungle gym basically. if rin decides she wants to hang off his arm and len decides to climb up onto his back in the middle of practicing who is he to stop either of them
and he’ll be affectionate even with people he doesn’t know very well. like when vbs was helping kohane, nene, ichika, and minori practice for that fan festival minori did something really well and he tousled her hair as a little “good job!” gesture and she still hasn’t emotionally recovered
he’s a sweetie. he has a lot of love in his heart and he can’t keep it all in and so he’s really really really affectionate!!!! but again if you point it out he’ll get so flustered he won’t be able to form a coherent sentence for 5-10 minutes.
