Her name is the U.S.M.S Georgian*
She was built for the American Star Line (fictional line I made) in 1925 and was bombed and sunk in the pacific theater in WWII.

I now have a postcard from the Celtic, with a…. Surprising detail
On the back of the card, there is a stamp with the date and time in which the card was stamped
With the date April 15th, 1909.
Exactly 3 years later, Celtic would receive a distress call from the Titanic. The captain warned the wireless operators to keep the news to themselves and to not tell passengers. She was 700 miles away. Too far to help.

I drew an ocean liner! I was just doodling in class so I didn't have a reference so I just made one up. Say hello to The Neriad! I haven't given her a proper title yet because I haven't decided what country or line she's from but I might update once I do.
Shout out to this weird a** dream I once had where somehow Oceanic II’s empty hull was just docked at my local beach.
I don’t even remember what it was about, all I remember is somehow the Oceanic was just chillin there on the coast missing her funnels and masts in pristine condition. What’s weirder is that for some reason I was standing next to a cousin I’ve only met like twice.

OTD 159 years ago:
The SS Sultana, dangerously overcrowded with returning Union soldiers, many of whom starving, sick, and wounded from poor conditions in southern prisons, exploded on the Mississippi from a faulty boiler. She caught fire and began to sink. 961 crew, passengers, and soldiers, both Union and Confederate, died that night. The explosion was caused by quick, incompetent repairs to a buckled pipe in the boiler room , and greed. May those 961 live who burned and drowned, who would never see their loved ones again, rest in peace.
