when a powerful figure is reduced to kneeling. when the lord is forced to bow. when the exile stumbles into an unwelcoming bar. when the “beast” is chained by their horns. when a god is dragged behind their enemy’s chariot, a captive and trophy. when the loyal “guard dog” character is muzzled and the silver-tongued thief falls silent in horror.
that’s the shit
it’s about the contrapasso. the reversal of roles and the sudden, plunging terror of being unable to hide.

He's literally not School Master anymore
He's nothing.
He's an important footnote in the tales. Ok perhaps more than a mere “footnote.” But still.
He's become obsolete because of Japeth. haha.
So his pride took a significant hit.
And I'm bringing him down with a swing in my step!
This is the figurative equivalent of picking the most vulnerable spot to stab whilst emotionally wounding him.
Spoiler alert: it's his need to always be in control of everything.
Ergo
stripping him of his School Master position!
Hopefully I manage to generate a great deal of psychological damage from my plot—it may eventually become akin to wringing out a sponge.
Not sure how well the actual writing/arranging scenes in in their chronological order will go either.
