One of my besties showed me a comic about Undyne wanting to fight the sun sometime in 2017 or 2018, and it was all over from there.
Oh also, I didn’t actually play the game until last year when I got back into the fandom lMAO. Back in the day, I watched a couple of clips from let’s plays and just absorbed the rest from my friends and the internet. That is, except for the one time at one of my friends birthday parties (this was full on larping and cosplay into the fandom at this point (even tho I’d never even seen cannon lMAO)) we stayed up all night to play geno run. I passed out around the time we were fighting Mettaton NEO tho haha
okay but the whole way I get into things is a trip, really
like I got into Undertale because I was bored one day and was scrolling TV Tropes and I got onto the ‘But Thou Must’ page and one of the examples was Undertale Geno route where Chara technically gives you a choice at the end but the world ends up erased whichever you pick.
and then I got lowkey scared of this (lol) and my Very Logical method of dealing with my fears, as in those related to horror elements in media, is to go and read all the rest of the TV tropes pages and I think the idea is to try to find something that’s not-so-scary in it (though this doesn’t usually work), but anyway this was how I got to the Undertale TV tropes page
and from there I read a bunch of spoilers to try to stop feeling scared and whaddya know it worked and so I ended up playing the demo and like absorbing fan content (I’m pretty sure I read Handplates before playing, also listened to a couple songs from the UT musical) and then came down with the thought that ‘okay now I gotta play Undertale’
I think this is the first time my fear of things has worked out in my favour fghhfjgh
