I've come to make an announcement.

Sonic the Hedgehog (sustained speed of 767 MPH) could have made the journey from the Shire to Mount Doom (1718.5 miles) in just over two hours. But also he famously loves rings, so he almost assuredly would have found the thrall of the Ring far too powerful to resist. Tails would have had to shoot him

I have very few gatekeep-y takes, but one of the few I do have is that criticisms of Ian Flynn and Evan Stanley don’t hold much weight to me unless the person making them has read at least a decent amount of pre-Flynn Sonic comics. That’s not to say there aren’t valid criticisms to make, there totally are, but I feel like you need the proper context (as in, some of the worst Sonic has to offer) in order to understand why the current Sonic creatives have historically been so celebrated

Equal parts of him

Super Sonic where you can see the power radiating off of him in heat waves. Super Sonic that’s too bright to look at, like the sun. Super Sonic that sears whatever he touches, makes metal bubble and boil and life burst into flames. Super Sonic that leaves a trail of destruction behind him, even if it’s necessary destruction.

Super Sonic that scorches just as much as he saves.
