"Suffocation. He felt as though he had a gag in his mouth, his tongue dry and his breathing unable to leave his lips. The bathroom was silent, but Jørgen’s mind was booming with sound. With each failed gasp for air, the screaming in his brain was fading out, and there was a repeating clatter. There was far too much familiarity in the noisy scene that played out in his head. His chest felt as though it was collapsing in on itself, and he felt warmth running down his face, like hot water. His vision grew more and more hazy, and, clutching his chest, Jørgen looked up at the light on the ceiling. His eyes were wide, cloudy, and bloodshot, and a smile formed on his face, as his head quieted itself, and a new, peaceful, freeing chorus played out instead, accompanied by familiar drum beats. Peace. Tranquility. Freedom. No more alone. No more betrayal. No more guilt. Not now. Not ever again. Had it always been this easy?

Nothing was the same. There was no sink, or tub, or lamp above his head. There was hardly even a floor to sit on. Now, Jørgen felt as though he was floating into a new world. This new, bright, shining light beat down the horror and terror, and the chorus continued. This isn't heaven. There was no heaven. Not to him. This was freedom. This was the last performance. And he smiled wider, prepared to continue marching to the rhythm of the drums in his mind, to march to his ultimate sleep. To death itself."
