Supernatural Roommates - Tumblr Posts
The last stop for the guys was, of course, the Pagoda in the Shadows. The Wise Old Man was there (which was a relief; if you remember way back to the old Bluewater Challenge when I sent the guys to Takemizu, the old man wasn’t there and I had a dickens of a time figuring out why.)
Cyd started out greeting the old man in a wolfy fashion, but then he bowed. He’d managed to master the gesture, which went over pretty well. Chester learned to bow too (all on his own) and did the polite thing while Cyd went to start serving the tea.
Cyd and Chester shared tea with the Wise Old Man and Cyd explained his problem.
After tea, the old man invited Cyd to practice tai chi with him. Cyd hadn’t managed to learn this before coming, so the old man wasn’t very impressed. He politely asked Cyd to come back again once he had mastered the technique.
The guys returned to the hotel only to go on one last (disastrous) tour. I do really like that picture of them being chased by the bees, though. And they enjoyed the tour even with the bad ending.
The guys had a really good vacation, even with the bad tours they went on. Cyd got fourteen of his memories (it says 13 up there, but he ordered a photo album once he got home). Both Cyd and Chester got three vacation benefits that will last through next round, I think.
Now that they’re back home, it’s back to standard business for the guys. Cyd is digging for the treasure that will fund his next vacation and Chester is still waiting for the aliens to pick him up for a visit. Technically these two are best friends now, which means that Chester can ask Cyd to turn him into a werewolf. I didn’t realize that until the very end of the round, so it’ll have to wait until next time.
Meanwhile, let’s head to the next house. Tara Kat and her kitties are up next and there are kittens on the way! Whee!
Round 2 is finally, finally over! It feels like it’s taken forever, and a LOT happened!

The Landgraab Legacy
Malcolm had quite an eventful round! Seriously, we started things off with a bang this round! Malcolm was pretty sure Abby was the one for him, but it turned out she was just in it to get a story. Malcolm’s...not doin’ so hot now. Is the legacy going to end with him?
The Delarosa Differences in the Family Tree Challenge
Compared to Malcolm, Florence’s round was completely boring. She mostly spent it running her shop and hanging out with her new sweetie, Herb. I’m hoping she’ll kick things into gear next time, but we’ll have to wait and see.
The Tinker Ten Kids Challenge
The Tinkers added two more little ones to their family this round: Bass and Treble. Little Cadence aged up to a toddler and then a child by the end of the round. Stephen got abducted by aliens and came back pregnant, and then he got Wanda pregnant too! We’re almost at that 10 kid milestone already! At the end of the round Melody moved to college.
The Ramirez Random Challenge
The Ramirezes learned to love (or hate) grilled cheese sandwiches this round. (Tessa was going through a phase.) Also, Checo and Lisa went to their first grown up party in a while and, well, the night had some consequences that have not quite yet made themselves known. (In other words, baby Ramirez incoming next round! Woohoo!)
The Larson Business Challenge
Jason and Jodie drove each other (and me) crazy. It was mostly Jason’s fault this time. He traumatized his sister by making out with his girlfriend on the couch. Jodie went out and got drunk to try to erase that image from her brain and ended up meeting a nice guy. They went on a date later. Jason hired his girlfriend to work at his store. He thinks that’s a good idea. I think it’s time to throw a wrench or two into the works with these guys. We’ll see what happens.
The Jacquet ROS Challenge
Denise finally started healing after Yves’s death. She got a cat named Hardimos and went back to the bakery with Gilbert. (There is now cheesecake available at the bakery. The Tinkers may or may not have purchased some...) Gilbert officially started going out with Breanna Custer.
The Supernatural Roomies Challenge
Chester and Cyd went on vacation to Takemizu Village. Cyd didn’t get all the vacation memories he needed (no ninjas, for instance) but he’s made a good start toward his goal. I’m not sure Chester really did anything significant. Maybe he learned to make more robots? I don’t remember...
The Crazy Kat Lover Challenge
Tara Kat’s household expanded with three kittens, and there are more kittens on the way! Also Tara got a bit more serious with her boyfriend Jareth, who seems to be pretty okay with all the cats. I’m just not sure there’ll be room for him to move in next round. It depends on how many kittens we get! Yay kittens!
The Wacky Kim Officially Wacky Boolprop Challenge
The Kims got the (dubious) honor of bringing the plot back around again. Cynthia and her best friend, Sylvia Marie Mashuga, heard about what happened to Malcolm and began plotting to set him up with someone new. Malcolm wasn’t on board with the idea. Meanwhile, Robert began making robots and Justin made friends with a couple neighborhood kids.
Melody Tinker at College
Melody moved into a dorm with a bunch of premade college students turned dormies, which provided me with a lot of drama to watch while Mel was at class. Melody decided to major in math and went looking for friends around campus. She passed her first year of college with flying colors!
And that was the end of Round Two! We’re going to have a bit of an interlude before we go into Round Three.

Cyd and Chester went on vacation to Takemizu Village
They met the Wise Old Man and tried to impress him to learn the Dragon Legend, but Cyd’s tai chi skills were not up to snuff.
Cyd and Chester officially became besties, which means that Chester can now ask Cyd something important.
So we start the round with the boys doing what they do best -- looking for aliens and digging for treasure.
Since aliens don’t pick you up in the daytime (unless you cheat or have Freetime), Chester goes inside to work on another part of his challenge -- building robots. If you don’t remember, Chester is trying to become, befriend, build, or give birth to all the supernaturals available in the game. He’s not quite ready to make a Servo yet.
Werewolf time rolls around and Cyd transforms. Chester is so eager to ask him to turn him too that he doesn't change into actual clothes or take a shower. You sure you wanna bite him, Cyd?
Cyd apparently doesn’t mind biting stinky Chester and soon there are two werewolves in the household. Yay?
Well, being a werewolf at least makes it easier for Chester to stay up all night to look for aliens. No luck yet...
Cyd uses his nocturnal state to his advantage too and, after a lot of rocks and bones, he finds another treasure chest, which means he can go on another vacation!
After asking Chester to come along (because it seems mean to leave him behind), Cyd books the trip. Twikkii Island, here we come!
The boys arrived at their hotel (with fresh makeovers after my CC purge). Cyd began trying to befriend the locals, while Chester went and moped about on the couch. I’m not sure he actually wanted to come on this trip. He certainly didn’t end up having much fun (although that was mostly his own fault, as you’ll see).
Cyd really wanted to learn to Hang Loose, and he eventually did. One more vacation memory checked off.
The boys went on a tour. It...didn’t go well.
I love how the little comments are always positive, even when they come back with their fun and comfort meters in the red. “This vacation was so worth it! Crashing into a storefront and having to pay $500 was the best! Yay!”
To counteract the effects of their tour, I sent the boys to the hot springs. Chester was ambivalent about it, but Cyd really liked it.
They had some lunch and then Cyd went to learn a new massage (more vacation memories!) and Chester tried to relax in a hammock. Key word: tried. Yeah, he really didn’t have a good vacation...
