Jeongin had always been a quiet and reserved person, preferring the company of his close friends and his music over anything else. He had never thought much about romance, convinced he wanted to focus on his career and dreams. But then he met Y/n, and everything changed.

She was the opposite of him โ€” bright, cheerful, and full of life. From the moment they met, Jeongin was drawn to her carefree spirit and infectious energy. Y/n was like a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day, and Jeongin found himself falling for her against his better judgment.

He tried to fight his feelings, telling himself that he was too busy to get involved in a relationship. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldnโ€™t get Y/n out of his head. She had wormed her way into his heart, and he didnโ€™t know how to get her out.

Jeongin tried to keep his distance, not wanting to admit his feelings to himself or anyone else. But Y/n was persistent, always finding ways to spend time with him and get under his skin. She teased him relentlessly, playfully calling him out on his aloof facade.

Jeongin found himself softening towards her, amused by her playful banter and her cheeky smile. He tried to act disinterested, but he found himself looking for excuses to be around her. He found himself laughing at her jokes, and his heart skipped a beat every time she smiled at him.

As time went on, Jeongin found himself falling harder and harder for Y/n. He had never felt this way about anyone before, and it scared him. He was used to being in control, but Y/n had a way of making him feel out of control like he was lost in a whirlwind of emotions.

Finally, one evening, Jeongin found himself unable to deny his feelings any longer. Y/n had been teasing him all day while they hung out together, and the banter had taken on a different tone, laced with flirtation and a hint of something deeper.

Jeongin and Y/n were sitting on a park bench, their shoulders brushing against each other. Jeongin had his gaze fixed on the scenery in front of them, but he was acutely aware of Y/nโ€™s presence beside him.

Y/n nudged him lightly, a playful smirk on her lips. โ€œYouโ€™re unusually quiet today,โ€ she observed. โ€œWhatโ€™s going on in that pretty little head of yours?โ€

Jeongin was jolted out of his thoughts by Y/n's voice, and he looked at her for a moment before shaking his head. "No, I'm fine," he said, but his voice gave away the lie.

Y/n frowned, seeing through his fake nonchalance. "Come on, you can tell me. Something's clearly bothering you," she said, shifting her body closer to him.

Jeongin sighed, knowing he couldn't keep it in any longer. "It's justโ€ฆ I've been thinking about something lately," he said, running a hand through his hair.

Y/n raised an eyebrow, her curiosity piqued. "And what's that something?" she prompted, her eyes fixed on his face, searching for any clue as to what was bothering him.

Jeongin fidgeted with the hem of his shirt, avoiding her gaze. "It's justโ€ฆ us," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

Y/n's heart skipped a beat at his words. "What do you mean, 'us'?" she asked, her voice laced with a mixture of hope and trepidation.

Jeongin took a deep breath, bracing himself for what he was about to say. "I meanโ€ฆ this. Whatever it is we have going on between us," he said, gesturing between them.

Y/n felt a flicker of hope in her chest. She had often wondered if Jeongin felt the same way she did, but he had always been closed off and difficult to read. "What about it?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady.

Jeongin fidgeted again, his nerves getting the best of him. "I don't know," he admitted, his voice shaky. "I justโ€ฆ I can't stop thinking about it. About you."

Y/n felt a rush of warmth spread through her at his words. She had suspected that he felt something for her, but hearing him say it out loud was another thing entirely. "And what exactly are you thinking about?" she asked, a hint of a smile on her lips.

Jeongin looked at her then, his expression serious. "I'm thinking about how much I like being around you. How much you make me laugh. How much I look forward to seeing you every day," he said, the words coming out in a rush.

Y/n felt her heart swell at his words. She had known that Jeongin had a more sensitive side, but he had always been so reserved, so it was rare for him to express his feelings like this. "And that's a bad thing?" she teased, unable to help herself.

Jeongin huffed a laugh, a small smile playing on his lips. "No, it's not," he admitted. "But it's alsoโ€ฆ I don't know. Terrifying. I've never felt this way about anyone before, and it'sโ€ฆ scary."

Y/n's expression softened. She could tell he was being vulnerable with her, opening up in a way he never had before. "I get that," she said gently. "But you know you can talk to me, right? You can tell me anything."

Jeongin nodded, feeling a weight lift off his shoulders at her words. "I know," he said, his voice steady. "But it's justโ€ฆ I don't know what we're doing, you know? What are we? Are we just friends? Or is there more between us?"

Y/n's heart fluttered at his words. She had been asking herself the same question for weeks, but she had been too afraid to bring it up. "Do you want there to be more between us?" she asked, holding her breath as she waited for his response.

Jeongin hesitated for a moment, his brain and his heart warring with each other. Finally, he took a deep breath and spoke. "Yes," he said, his voice firm despite the tremble in his hands. "Yes, I want there to be more between us. I wantโ€ฆ I want to be your boyfriend, Y/n. If that's what you want too."

Y/n felt a surge of joy at his words, her heart leaping in her chest. "I do want that," she said, a smile spreading across her face. "I want to be your girlfriend, Jeongin. More than anything."

Jeongin let out a breath he hadn't even realized he was holding, a wave of relief washing over him. "Really?" he asked, a hint of disbelief in his voice. "You mean it?"

Y/n nodded, her smile widening. "I mean it," she said, her eyes shining. "I've wanted to be your girlfriend for longer than you probably think. I just didn't know how to tell you."

Jeongin felt a rush of happiness at her words. He had never thought it was possible for her to feel the same way about him, and yet here she was, saying that she wanted to be his girlfriend just as much as he wanted to be hers. "Thenโ€ฆ we're really doing this?" he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

Y/n leaned in closer to him, her hand resting on his knee. "Yes, we're really doing this," she said, her voice soft and earnest. "I'm yours, Jeongin. And you're mine."

Jeongin couldn't help but smile at her words. The idea that Y/n was his - that he was hers - it felt unreal. He reached out and took her hand in his, intertwining their fingers. "I like the sound of that," he said, his thumb rubbing small circles on the back of her hand.

Jeongin and Y/n sat on the couch, their hands still intertwined. They sat silently for a few moments, both relishing the newfound intimacy between them. They were no longer just friends - they were now a couple, and the thought filled them both with a sense of happiness and contentment.

As they sat, Jeongin leaned his head against Y/n's shoulder, feeling her hair brush against his cheek. Y/n smiled, feeling a sense of contentment wash over her. They had finally crossed the line from friends to lovers, and neither of them could be happier.

Jeongin closed his eyes, feeling a sense of peace settle over him. He felt like he could stay like this forever, just existing in the same space as his girlfriend.
